  1. Free tickets pretty much everywhere in eastern PA. Skied free last year at Elk, Montage,Camelback. Could have went free to Blue, but already had pass. Any Peak Resort will comp you. Most places do limit you to 1-2 tickets season. Last year Killington gave me 1cp ticket, wouldn't this year. Not sure why. Guess they are losing to much & with this crappy season

  2. I'll check it out sometime. I work down in Bucks/MontCo so wouldn't have worked for lunch. For Mexican while working I like Fiesta Habanero in Quakertown. Only a couple outside picnic tables though, so that wasn't happening today.

Fiesta Habenero also has sit down place on Rt 29 just above Pennsburg. Good food.

  3. Not sure. Surgery went well. Now working on healing up and gaining range of motion back through physical therapy. That's my focus at this point. I would think that at the earliest late March but I need to be 100% ready. I'm in no way pushing it. I've come to peace with my season being potentially over. If it happens this year, it happens but my goal is to come back stronger and better than ever next year. I know it sounds cliche but that's where I'm at.

Seriously, don't ski til next year. It's not worth it. When I tore my ACLS, I really wanted to ski before it was repaired. I figured what the hell, it's already a mess. One of my kids actually talked sense into me! You're not missing a great season. So just heal 100%. Next year will be better.

  4. I skied Main Street again which was nice then paradise to dreamweaver for a little variation. Lots of kids out today. Do some school have off this week??? Nice to see the snowmaking cannons still blasting building base depths as its gonna be warm this weekend. OK gonna ski a few more runs. Next on the agenda Is lazy mile to the falls.attachicon.gifimage.jpeg

Right on enjoy the rest of your session. I'm hoping for a couple more good snowstorms!!!!

Yes, apparently schools in New York off all week. Hotel at Bear was booked solid.  There were a lot of kids there today. It typically is not that crowded on a Thursday. I can't complain- never had to wait in line, and slopes didn't seem busy. I did feel bad for I guess was Park Crew. They were trying to film jump, and just kept getting snaked by people on rental skis.

  5. As far as terrain, definitely Blue. Bear is a little closer to me, and was definitely worth getting cheap passes for working there 8 hours week when my kids were young. Might drop the job next year. As far as food, Trails End pizza really good. Don't know about cheese fries. Haven't bought any food at Blue since they dropped BLT.

  6. 30 laps at bear! That's dedication! I don't blame you for staying away from Sasquatch, that trail is goofy. I don't think I've ever skied anything anywhere else with such a weird fall line. It's short, but if the snow on it isn't good, it really kinda sucks.

I thought it was just me who felt that way about Sasquatch. I just find that trail really difficult a lot of times. Although it was really nice yesterday. And days when it's nice it's such a pain to lap, unless you hike.

  7. Nice. When your boys get to their 20's they'll start hanging with you again. Our son is 26, lives in Arizona. We're going out to see him again in April. I mentioned he didn't have to hang out with us all the time. He answered that he wanted to hang out with us a lot. Made me feel pretty good.  :)
