  1. an easter weekend big air/rail jam would be unbelievable. that way it'd be easier to come home, for those of us in college.
  2. oh god, whatever you do don't go to spring. they have spotty cover and 2 mailboxes that are more or less on their sides. not worth your $25, or whatever they're charging

    Sony Cyber shot

i've used one in the past and also have a nikon that i love. it's a solid camera, and as long as the lighting is good you shouldn't have a problem with shutter speed. but in terms of your individual use, if you are indeed a complete "n00b" then you don't need the best camera on the market. this should be a great intro camera to get you going into photography. that way youre not dropping 4 figures only to find out that you think taking pictures is boring.
  4. up until today spring had solid cover on that one main top to bottom trail by the lodge (which they consider two trails) and then on the side of the lower half they had two mailboxes, their c-box, and a fun new flat box that some kind soul donated. about noon today they closed the flat box because all the snow around it was melting. the owner said it should be set up again tomorrow, but they're definitely going to be hurting for snow in other places. they should be able to survive until they can blow at night though.
  5. i will crush you like a clam on my belly but seriously, that looks sick. theyre going to need a ton of snow in the landing area to prevent a massive drop
  6. im resurrecting this thread, a: because i liked seeing other peoples crazy ideas, and b: because now that the seasons over and people have had a chance to hit new stuff, im sure theres plenty of new ideas out there. no better time to start thinking about next year. i think my favorite feature that i hit this year, and would like to see at bear, would have to be mt. snow's mellow a-frame box in el diablo. so perfect for spinning on and learning switch ups and stuff.
  7. yeah, tenneys thing was a total bust. i exchanged a few emails with one of the managers there about it (cause my friends and i were gonna roadtrip up if they had another summer day) and apparently rather than use the system themselves, they rent it out to other places such as atlantic city, for some reason or another. so i guess it works, but its just not cost effective for them to use
  8. i went yesterday morning when it was pouring, but was kind of surprised at how well the conditions have been holding up. if i hadnt been soaking wet, it wouldve been an excellent day. and does anyone know whats going to happen with the park as they continue to lose snow? are they just gonna let the jumps shrink, or will they cut back on the number of features so that they can pile up all the snow and keep some decent hits?
  9. i go to school in upstate new york and ski mt snow and killington. although killy definitely stepped it up this year, mount snow is by far the best park ive ever ridden. el diablo and inferno are both kept in perfect condition and they have the best flow arround. a lot of my buddies went to stratton last weekend after hearing all the hype from mags, but said it was awful. the flow didnt work and the landings were all really short. one of the greatest things that mt snow has (that killy and stratton cant claim) is that they have a park-specific lift which keeps lines short. as for okemo, i dunno
  10. im a nestors fan. the preseason sale during the last week of august is the best time to buy.
  11. i put down 7, but you have no spot for cork. soooo...corked 7
  12. i wouldnt pay more than 120 for the park pass. although, i get a dependent pass from my dad so i suppose it doesnt really matter all that much, haha. but yeah. the last question is tricky because no, my parents could care less about a superpipe, but it would absolutely influence my decision of where to go.
  13. that new jump is amazing. i sessioned that all last night and tonight. its perfect for 5s and 7s. and yes. the rollercoaster is definitely leaning to the right. thanks to that i can now hardly move my back. but i did clean it eventually so it was worth it
  14. haha, trying to learn corked 5s for a whole night and then coming back the next day completely bummed for never getting it, trying to throw a regular 5, catching an edge on the takeoff and accidentally stomping my first corked trick ever
  15. im pretty sure they were in the x games...like 5 or 6 years ago. but they were removed after one year because people kept destroying themselves. cause i remember that mike nick was a pro snowblader before skier. and to answer the question, i agree with every other person on here
  16. im not working, so ill probably be there
  17. i love steep landings, the problem with this is that its MUCH steeper than the takeoff, so if your speed isnt perfect you either case or wayyy overshoot. for example, the one time i was a little short, cased and literally bounced over half of the landing. the landing doesnt need to be flat, but it needs to be closer to the grade of the takeoff
  18. hit them today. it seemed like they were still under construction, but the middle table was great. the last one needs a landing thats not as steep, and the first needs a better inrun.
  19. yeah, the biggest thing is that you have to be really innovative with what they put out. i had a free season pass cause i worked in ski school so i would go out after work some days and only ski switch for the entire day, which really made me stronger in that area. but other than that, its really about being creative with what youve got. in general though, unless you live right there, id say it probably isnt worth the money for a pass.
  20. bears comps are the best around. even if you dont enter, at least go that weekend. the setups are in the best condition with the biggest hits and the best people in the area riding them.
  21. the park at bear is ill. keep the flow of the main park, but what id like to see (in addition to the cliff and multi jump mentioned before) is a longer double kink, to have the wallride fixed so youre not absorbing a 90 degree angle, the pipe cut more often, and more gaps to rails. and oh yeah. the park pass is an excellent idea.
  22. hey now. not too much hating on my home turf. yes, they do need more rails, and yes, they do lack decent terrain, but we have one hell of a great atmosphere. spring is designed as a family/learning area so it will never have a great park, or anything for that matter. if you want real hits, go to bear. ps. mojoskier, i graduated from souderton last year. big red, represent.
