Sounds like it's time for you to come back, that was 40 years ago.

You should be able to delete the OTHER posting until someone replies to it.

Lots of info about bears at: http://www.nps.gov/glac/resources/bears.htm

We all went on a hike this weekend to this beautiful lake. That's Siblet. I missed getting a shot of what I think was a Great Blue Heron. There were loons and lots of ducks, plus fish jumping all over. Too bad it's so far from where you park, I don't know if I'd want to try to carry fishing gear up that trail.
-
I averaged 68 days a year the last three seasons. Before that, it was more like 30 or so.
-
Siblet was there, complete with running a fever. Leaving her CAT team jacket at home didn't help either, nor did the cold garage for food. Then the race organizers lost my driver's license.

Shouldn't this be in the Gear forum rather than the Mountain Creek forum?

Well, I was too busy skiing to take them down before skiing was over mid-April and now I've been taking them down slowly.
-
We're at 3700 feet. There's still plenty of snow on the upper half of the mountain, say above 5500 feet, but I don't earn turns.
-
This is what happens if you don't take down your Christmas decorations....Yes, it's May 2, 2006 and I still have the studded snow tires on the car.

6 foot and about 170 lbs. Now he's asking about the Salomon Foil.
-
I knew he skied a bunch, so I wasn't biting.

Slight problem, the season's over and I think he's looking for off season deals... Most of our moguls here are not the hard icy things you see back east. I've been kind of pushing the PE.

Siblet's boyfriend is thinking of switching from snowboarding to skiing next year. He was asking me about what kind of equipment he should buy, but given his age I think he'd probably prefer freestyle or freeride skis. Plus for a few weeks anyway, I'll be a better skier than he is, so I don't know what he should get. He asked me about the Line Prophet 80's. How good would these skis be for someone who'll want to go off groomed as soon as he can link turns and be TRYING to keep up with Siblet? (I am sure he has decided that the snowboard is NOT the right equipment for that.) He'll mostly be skiing Bridger Bowl, which has either high back country chutes or boring groomed or lots of moguls.

One is allowed to do that. BUT, I skied Blacktail last weekend (about an hour or so south of here, but with north-facing slopes) and the skiing was ....interesting. No glide on the stuff, felt like you were skiing sand. My head kept telling my skis to hurry up or the head was going to end up down the hill first. Quite a tiring day. AND, I'd waxed TWO pairs of skis the night before. One with a combination of yellow and molybdenum covered with pink, the second just yellow. I switched skis at midday and it was no improvement. Plus every turn you had to THINK THINK THINK so that you didn't catch an edge. That type of condition is ACL injury time and I like my knees.

And here is an April 19 shot of the mountain. Siblet and friend drove up there last weekend, though, and said that up close the snow looks pretty bad. Current web shot of base area:

Since I never watched Seinfeld, I can only guess at why you said this, but Sam Newman was the last owner before the new guy took over. Well, he was the president, the place had a number of people with stock in it.

Well, the box is half gone, but it looks like 40 pair of Hot Hands-2 in the box. Works out to $.45 a pair. This was from Costco. This beats a place in Long Island that sells boxes of Grabber MyCoal for $36 for the equivalent amount. On Ebay, I see them for $33.50. Hot Hands also advertised elsewhere online for $29.95. The only price I can find comparable to the Costco price is this one on Ebay. Ha! I see the seller is from Kalispell. Probably got them from Costco. I'm not a Costco member, I just get someone else to buy them for me.
-
I got a case of them from CostCo at $18. Don't buy them except by the case, they cost too much.

I put handwarmers in my mittens when it gets below 10 degrees. Sometimes I'll just use one and move it back and forth as needed. I NEVER use the toe warmers as those packs need oxygen to work and I can't imagine there's a lot of oxygen in your boots.
-
You mean like Grabber MyCoal, HotHands, etc.? Never noticed any difference in warmth levels, only some STATED difference in expiration dates. The ones I have had, any brand, work much longer than the expiration dates. I buy a case like every other year or so.

Looked for this today. Still not on their site.

All season passholders are automatically enrolled. The prizes aren't much -- boot bags, ski bags, etc. The first two years those prizes went to the people in each category (adult, senior, junior, child) who had the most vertical that month. But it soon transpired that it was always the same people, so then they started giving it to the next one on the list. This year it was "random", supposedly your chances were weighted by the number of feet in the month, but if so there is one lady that should be playing the lottery because she won for her category with hardly any vertical feet. There is no gender differentiation, just the four categories I listed. No special lift lines, no food discounts anymore. We had over 300,000 skier visits this year, the highest ever. 57% of those were passholders. So, special lines wouldn't buy us much.
