stevePSSC Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 i worked like 5-6 days a week... Â but yeah i was in it for the half off on food, loft discount (which i never used) and FREE skiing.. Â Â another thing is i hate their jacket! haha those huge red spyder things.. with the zip off sleeves haha wow
Schif Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 How many hours a week would you say it takes to actually make a few bucks?
meatloaf Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 i don't think you will be able to get a job at all.
nitromtnrep Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 How many hours a week would you say it takes to actually make a few bucks? Â Â well figure 4-6 hours a day for new guys, at something like 7 dollars an hour. remember you don't get paid for the time you are there, you get paid for the time you teach. so more like 2-4 hours a day. weekends you can make 12 + hours a day.
stevePSSC Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 how much would one make on the Park Crew? and what exactly do they do at cb cause everything is usually crap haha they need to do their job better...
LineSki Posted November 14, 2005 Author Report Posted November 14, 2005 I really want to get on park crew next year.
stevePSSC Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 yeah.. theres also a rumor goin around that all the guys on the Park Crew are gonna have to instruct as well as manage the parks.. Â Â if thats the case count me out.. i love riding and the sport.. but im not one for teaching a bunch of little kids who cant speak english how to ride..
LineSki Posted November 14, 2005 Author Report Posted November 14, 2005 Well then count me out also, it wouldnt be that bad if you had to give freeride lessons in the park.
stevePSSC Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 Well then count me out also, it wouldnt be that bad if you had to give freeride lessons in the park. Â Â now thats an idea.. the ski school and take care of all the beginner lessons.. and the park crew can teach the Freestyle Lessons.. in that cause count me in
poconoceancity Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 how much would one make on the Park Crew? and what exactly do they do at cb cause everything is usually crap haha they need to do their job better... I've heard from others on this board that they make $6-$8 an hour.
stevePSSC Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 I've heard from others on this board that they make $6-$8 an hour. Â Â not to shabby.. that sounds good to me
skidude Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 I am pretty sure instructors get $7/hr (while working) with a $.25 raise every winter...So I would imagine park crew would be a little less (since you probbably get paid for the whole day)
VTmark Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 i am thinking about applying for park crew at BC next year.
poconoceancity Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 i am thinking about applying for park crew at BC next year. Why not apply there for this year?
VTmark Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 im not 18 and my mom or dad wont sing the working papers. 'cuse they dont want me driving that far. (its only like 45 mint. and im their almost everyday anyway.)
poconoceancity Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 im not 18 and my mom or dad wont sing the working papers. 'cuse they dont want me driving that far. (its only like 45 mint. and im their almost everyday anyway.) Are you sure you need your parents to sign working papers if your 17? Maybe it's a PA thing?
VTmark Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 yeah its a pa thing. i turn 18 at the end of the seson but that doesn't help me getting a job. i would love to do it this year. but it wont happen. they already anounced their park crew.
skidude Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 You need working papers signed until your 18...BUT if you are working now, you should already have them signed...And as far as I know, you don't need to get new ones for each job....
VTmark Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 i thought you did. hummm i'll have to check on that. i'll have to ask BCpark staff if their is still room.
