GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 Hey All, I’m back from another morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot a bit after 820 and it was in the mid to upper 30s under partly sunny skies. In the house were Bethlehem Ford Crue including Jimmy, Tele Matt, Atomic Jeff, Hoodie, Johnny Law, NMSki, Mark, Oz and many others. Started on the quad and quite a line up. I started on challenge which was pretty bad but at least consistently bad and no cookies. Pretty large bare area around the middle on the right. Next skied sidewinder which was alright and still bare near the top…seems like they blew snow places that didn’t need it. Coming soon had pretty good semi spring snow and just the right side skiable at the end of the in run and the left side beginning of the headwall. I liked Switchback the best and the last section very narrow. I skied switchback a few times and a full corral at both high speeds operating. I ended the session with Widowmaker to midway to lower main and midway was starting to get creamy. March 20th and it’s crowded..What the Helly…I remember when after March 1st it would start emptying out. Oh well more than once they’ve closed before March 20th as well…we are living and skiing in the twilight zone..50 degrees out and I was sweating like I popped a molly, sat in a sauna, ate spice food or went through a field sobriety checkpoint. $20 lift tickets are dumb charge more Blue..basically welfare for skiers and most are wealthy dumb. I’ll save my senior pass pricing rant for another time..charge the people with the most money and free time who use the mountain the most the least. Dumb dumb dumb. JADIP 4
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 20 Author Report Posted March 20 (edited) Nastar Glenn also in the house and they’re playing his song. Yeah still still in my car catching up on PASR…I don’t wanna go into work but am in a minute to get stoned and count money. JADIP yeah my car clock is 55 minutes early what are yall cops Edited March 20 by GrilledSteezeSandwich 2
Johnny Law Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 Good day, ratty snow with some strange thickness but they blew in march so what can you do. Switch was probably the best and by 1030 it was getting super soft, would be very nice in the afternoon if it wasn't a zoo. Always feels like bonus weekend when nm/gss make a Friday appearance. 2
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 Remarkable they even get crowded on a late March Friday. Makes sense to offer a good deal if they want to attract people that could ski elsewhere free. Though your report has me questioning whether it will be worth it even at that price Sunday. CBK can charge more as they will soon be the only option in PA, maybe even the only one south of Albany

If they had all three high speeds no liftline issue but today you had all the boomers with season passes who didn’t get to ski all week plus camelback peeps and I’m sure bear creek passholders, epic passholders and even Indy although I didn’t see any Indy license plates. Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 Yeah it being the first open day with $20 tix probably pulled some people in with conditions sure to deteriorate from here And Sat will similarly be more crowded (but better coverage) than Sunday How long do you think Blue’s season will last?
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 20 Author Report Posted March 20 I honestly think Sunday could be less busy than today cause a lot of the Booms don’t ski weekends and so much pent up demand with Blue being closed for four days 2
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 20 Author Report Posted March 20 im guessing they close 3/29…maybe stay open later but Easter falling the following Sunday throws a monkey wrench into things as Blue is never open on Christian holidays. Glad they were open today for Eid 2
