I got a bit drunk one night in June 2017 at an open bar event on a boat, when I was walking from there to where I was sleeping. Do I get a medal? Felt lousy the next day. Reminded me why I so seldom do it. Really don't need the calories either.

I prefer the term "adult"
-
I see - skiing sober, not drinking more than 1 if any before driving home, and having no more than 2 or 3 at a wedding makes me the idiot.
-
Whats it take - 6 runs to ski "26 trails"?
-
All this talk about needing to get bussed home from weddings at Blue or getting DUIs from folks who drink beers while skiing and in ski parking lots before getting in their cars 🙂

When was it called Raceway. Was that an interim name? Pretty sure it was called Widowmaker when I first went to Little Gap in 1981

No problem with them increasing current rates if they place accurate pricing on their web site. But they cannot legally add a fee you pay at the window to vouchers they alreadt sold.

1/12/19....busiest day of the year
Ski2Live Live2Ski replied to AtomicSkier's topic in Blue Mountain
I see Challenge is now open and they are making snow on basically everything closed that does not start with S. Should make for an epic weekend. -
Yep we are a pretty good deal, but $1200 isnt for a whole wedding - they are asking for a 45 min to 1 hr set at a charity function. Expect we will give them the full hour, as once all set up we like to play.
-
Pretty sure that is up to the bride and groom, but it would have to be a pretty good paycheck to motivate the band to make a three hour round trip. We are doing a gig an hour away for $1200 though, so don't rule us out if you have the budget.

My lack of interest in a vaca property at a place I can drive to in 90 min with so so skiing and no interesting activities most of the year has nothing to do with price - though now that you mention it, I expect they are asking a lot more than it would cost for a place in the Skills or SVt. If I bought a vaca property, I would want one that would enable me to enjoy higher quality activities than are available to me as convenient day trips from where I already own property. Same reason I would never consider getting a place at the Jersey shore - which is 45 min from my house. I already own property sufficiently close to both.
-
It mystifies me, but at least those areas are a lot richer in non ski activities. Pretty sure that Lake Harmony is a soft RE market now as I know someone having a hard time selling a place there. And they are workng pretty hard to move time shares at CB based on the offers they have been emailing me if I were willing to take a tour. Personally if I were to buy a vaca unit it would be either Catskills - where RE is also very cheap - or S.Vt.

Maybe no condos cause it occurred to most of the potential buyers that if you are going to go on an overnight ski trip it pays to drive or fly somewhere awesome (or at least better than PA) to ski. Total ski season nights spent in Poconos out of about 40 years in which I have skied in Poconos = 4

Weekend roll call thread 1/12-1/13...

On my way -
But on the plus side it made you look like a Teletubbie
-
Should really focus the guns on the still closed trails during skiing hours, especially prime weekend times, unless they have capacity to make snow on every trail at oi nf
-
Switchback and Dreamweaver are def the two runs with the most character and SB ungroomed is as good as Blue gets
-
Yeah Blue probably has more acreage open now than Bear Creek has total

Today is the end of week 7, week 8 starts tomorrow
-
I was in no way suggesting Coming Soon would open soon, or even this season. My point was expressing greater frustration at only 5 TTB runs open (billed as 22 trails) 8 weeks into the skison.
-
At this point I'd be about as psyched for a "23rd" (aka legitimate 6th) trail to open for the season as I would be for Coming Soon to debut.
-
Yeah it was pretty deep. I dont mind those conditions at all. Made it nice and easy for kids to try Falls. I just didn't love the rain.
-
Got another couple runs in between rain stoppina and my closing. Real annoying they closed 30 min after it cleared.
-
Probably wasnt the best afternoon to go skiing. The forecaster clearing lasted long enough to do one run then started raining while on lift. Did run 2, now taking break. Deep slush on trails. Some brown spots on Lazy. Kids made it down Falls with no falls - their first double black at Blue
