  1. Just keep one of them. I need to be the second most annoying new poster. Ffs, I haven't trained for first place.
  2. Hey, now. Good satirical writing is time-consuming and difficult, and when it falls short it's like a turd on a brunch table; nobody wants to look directly at it and they're embarrassed for the person who put it there. You have to like doing it for its own sake, because you're going to lay turds for a long time until your tone, language, and instincts all come together, which for most writers is never. That prank took effort and guts, but there was just too much working against it. For one thing, the audience wasn't on Salty's side to begin with, so it wasn't going to be received as good-natured. Also, I don't think he knew whether he meant it in a playful or malicious way. He took a run at satire and crapped on the table. That doesn't make him the Unabomber, it makes him a mediocre writer. Maybe just look away politely and go read some good satire. But also, shut up, Eaf. https://wonkette.com/ https://www.theonion.com/ https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/pbs-program-or-something-liam-neeson-would-say-to-a-burrito-immediately-before-eating-it
  3. Ha, that would have been awesome! Shoot, I've been teaching teenagers since forever--been trolled at the varsity level more times than I remember. Salty's page wasn't even freshman-team material from what I hear (I never saw it). I approve of his instinct to punch back, though. Varsity work, exhibit A, below. At least this kid accurately captured my cardigan game.
  4. Yeah, I really hate when new people over-post.
  5. By 5-ish, everything was starting to turn into push-piles atop ice, so I left. Departing traffic was backed up all the way to the intersection in Danielsville, near the Blue Mtn. Drive-In and it was slow going. Up until then, though: really great day; the snow was incredible. Even the huge crowds weren't too big a deal, since the VIP line moved well and it seemed as though the trails had no more people on them than any other weekend. The parking lot was hilarious fun, and it was nice to see everyone again. At one point a woman in a black suv ran over a traffic cone but she was so angry at the parking situation she didn't care and continued to drive away with the cone wedged under her car's chassis. Eventually it broke free, but her rage was undiminished and she sped away, leaving a couple of confused guests to pick up the mangled orange mess and put it back in place.
  6. HEY, what's with the new user name? There's only room for one Sally on here, ya Salty plagiarist.
  7. Still here. Still long lines, but the trails themselves are not terribly crowded. Some getting a bit scrapey. Challenge is icy garbage. Switchback a bit spicy. Sidewinder is still awesome.
  8. Here's an item for your site's online store: http://perfectimprints.com/middle-finger-foam-hand-mitt.html
  9. Well played, you magnificent bastard!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I love that I thought you quit but then you came back meta-trolling. Solid!
  11. A $229 season pass....that's like the value menu at McDonalds: I actually want my food to cost more than that.
  12. My weather app knows I should have gone to Blue this afternoon instead of ballin' it up at the gym.
  13. If that's SLI's bar it's either been heavily renovated or it's lit with whatever industrial-scale system kept Barbara Walters on air for 300 years. Plus that's only the rail area. You have to walk into that place to believe it. And smell it.
  14. Looked at the crowds and decided on a b-ball session instead. See you tomorrow!
  15. Lol I just figured if Eaf could stomp his feet and refuse to join a forum he's not allowed on, I could huff and flounce away from a season pass I won't be buying anyway! It's a shame to waste a good flounce. "I said GOOD DAY!" <<door slam>>
  16. Isn't that curvy part of Lower Sidewinder already set up for ski cross? Jesus. what a boondogle messing up NMDW. Blue isn't big enough to host that many teams and push the public onto fewer, more-crowded trails. I'm definitely not buying a season pass for next year.
  17. What's it like up there today? Thought I might go up in a couple hours and dodge crowds just to get out a bit.
  18. When was the convo? If it was last night wasn't he drinking? Maybe he was just extra emotional? That could be. Hope so. Would hate to see him go.
  19. What makes you think that? Spidey Sense. Plus a convo.
  20. I think we may have lost Salty, which is a shame; I really liked his stuff--it was a different, crazy, funny, perspective. I would have cracked from the relentless stream of abuse long before he did, so props for sticking it out.
  21. Fair enough; I keep forgetting you don't have a Blue pass yet! You're always welcome to my season pass discount on day tix, I think it's only 10% though.
  22. See you Sunday at Blue then!
  23. Oh, Yay! I'll go then since I worked all day today did a few things today.
