I’ve been waiting all day for this report…I guess we can at least hope for a nice supper report.

Tussey is a disaster zone! College students can't get their lessons in and some are hiking up the steep slopes. I say, screw you guys, I'm going home.

  2. What a freakin' joke. I drove 20 minutes to Tussey, got my skis and boots ready and now the resort is closed again due to "chair lift broken". But the website says the black expert and blue square trails are open.

Big let down Tussey. Very, very disappoint. 0 out of 10 stars. I'd give negative stars if possible.

Keep Us updated, I remember when you talked about getting like $60 A day to buy food on the road and free breakfast at hotel, cheap lunch you have enough left for a legit supper like a hoagie from Walmart plus other snacks.

Some fancy shrimp with cocktail sauce in Milroy, PA. I think @tarponhead says always order seafood as far from the coast as possible. These shrimp were probably caught fresh from the bountiful streams flowing from Tussey Mountain.

The melting here is extreme right now..melting from above and below since the ground isn’t frozen and the sun is so strong

All the melting snow will be really grate for the snow making retention ponds. Maybe the ponds will be full enough to get Upper Sidewinder open by February 31!

OMG if you missed today..... just wrapping it up.  ROTD first run on Switchback then Upper Sidewinder.  STOKED!

I heard it wasn't so good because it was wet heavy snow and not light fluffy champagne powder.

Lift closed at Tussey. Maybe they are getting chair lift consultation from Camelback? All that fresh pow pow at the top of the very high mountain top will be radical once they open. I think Tussey is your favorite name for a ski mountain as it sounds kind of like Tushy.

Nice real time updates JFDan!!!  My FOMO is starting to kick in.  Definitely a day for the fat skis

Maybe a snorkel too. Good thing I have Elan Ripsticks for this weekend to ski all the fresh powder stashes in the glades!!!

Oh man, riding up the quad first thing was like getting off a plane in Florida in the winter!  The warmth smacked you right in the face.

Going over NMDW, the grooming was impressive and rode that first thing.  Wow!  The two turns were a hoot and didn’t really see the mini booter halfway down until I was in mid air.

Barney’s needed a bit of slipping to scrape off the crust to let the warmth turn them hero which it did after about an hour.  Ended up lapping them until lunch.  Everyone was complaining about how outta shape we all are from not skiing bumps all season.

After lunch headed back out for a few more mashed potatoes runs.  Right side of CS had some good snow and Lazy was thick and deep with it.

Legs are pretty shot from today’s conditions.

Seeing some dirty snow on lower Upper Main Street. What's up with that?

That looks huge and I bet that’s taken from like 5,000 feet??

Correct - 6,000 feet above sea level (per diagram below) minus 1,000 feet elevation = 5,000 ft. Grate job

  10. @DiMe I'm hella jell-o. First time at Killington? That mountain has a special place in my heart as it was my first big mountain. It's where I took my profile avatar picture. Each run there is like a magical journey through trails like Dust Bunny Buster, Launch Pad, and my favorite, Grate Eastern.

Bear Cub sucks though. Fudge that stupid run.

Nah we should motivate Salty to ski more.  I agree with Momskeeze

When I started skiing it was almost exclusively night skiing because it was cheape, like $20. I didn't have any season passes. Now that I've seen the light at how much better early morning skiing is on fresh courdoroy, the icy and sugary slopes of night skiing are far less appealing.
