  1. I meant condition-wise. The crowds were non-existent. I never waited more than 15 seconds to board the lift. Yes, by Mid-Jan it will be a cluster bleep.
  2. It was tracked out on Upper Marc Antony the first half of the day, but seemed to improve by the afternoon. Honeymoon was really icy at the top early on, but it also got much better later in the day. I'm still a little rusty, but feel a lot more confident after doing 51 runs today. Got my turns pretty consistent. I think I was relying on the poles too much because my hand started to hurt really bad, as I was gripping them too hard, so I ditched them and started skiing much better.
  3. Someone at Camelback told me their friend broke an arm at Blue last Friday, on the black diamond. I assume it was probably Midway.
  4. I know, those were pretty upsetting. Especially the preferred parking issue. But I think their terrain and snow quality today made up for it. By mid-afternoon, it almost felt like mid-January skiing. No death cookies, hardly any ice, no mashed potatoes.
  5. Good enough for me. I hit 36 mph. I needed easier terrain to get back to how I was skiing last season anyway.
  6. For me the high speed lift makes such a huge difference. I get bored on slow fixed-grip lifts, but I think 3.5 minutes on the high speed quad is perfect. Yes, I know Blue might open their 6 pack next weekend. But as for opening day, CB is the true winner.
  7. Not so sure now. Ski2Live and I agreed that Camelback had the best opening day.
  8. Holy crap. I forgot how badass it looks to wear a GoPro on your helmet.
  9. I drew this (below) on the garbage can in case I could use it in my trip report for trolling purposes. Ironically, they featured it in their promo video today. I think I deserve some compensation for my artistic genius.
  10. But most importantly, got to high five a real life camel after making the first civilian run of the season.
  11. From first chair, which arrived approximately 8:40 AM, to 4:00 PM. Only took a break with Ski2Live for free cookies and hot chocolate for skiing fuel. Otherwise just kept doing runs all day long.
  12. Upper Marc Antony - Decent, a little tracked early on but improved throughout the day Honeymoon - excellent coverage Lower Honeymoon - view from Sullivan Lift Detailed report to come tomorrow. I'd highly recommend going, it was epic.
  13. Great! I met Ski2Live and we did 15 or so runs together. Currently riding Sullivan will post details later
  14. Cant tell if you guys are being serious or not. But I havent been banned yet so I think thats a good sign.
  15. Here at CB havinf the time of my life. Will post pics later
  16. Thanks guys. I'm having way too much fun on this forum.
  17. Lol, you really analyzed the hell out of their posts. I'm impressed! Thanks for reminding me of the pass references. I was sure I saw them do something sleazy but couldn't remember what it was. And good point about the video showing the whole mountain open, I didn't think of that. That's why they made people watch their video until the end. It'll be interesting to see the coverage tomorrow, since it looks like they dropped the ball in delaying making snow to try to save money, hoping the forecast would stay warm, and got too much pressure from social media to open something since 3 places are already open.
  18. I think this is the most creative thing I came up with this week. Too bad I can't like my own post.
  19. It'll be interesting for sure. I'll post a detailed report tomorrow. It depends on how many people actually show up. I doubt many people are going to come from NYC and the major cities to ski 1 green trail. The worst part will be the "Marc Antony" trail - that area reminds me of driving on a busy highway sometimes, no joke. Two lanes of people and not much room for error. One person falling will literally cause a traffic jam tomorrow. Fittingly known as the "gapers delay". badum tish
  20. Wow! Look at all those piles. Told you guys they just needed to spread it around. And you thought I was trolling...
  21. Very true. I can't believe the preferred parking debacle. That was mainly the reason I bought the season pass. I guess they figured they could make $400 more by selling those 20 spots. Unbelievable. Since they forgot to change their website to reflect this change, I think I should get my own personal parking space as compensation.
  22. It's groomed most of the time. In spring conditions, the top tends to get a lot of moguls but the middle of the slope doesn't.
  23. Interesting, thanks. I always thought Cliffhanger was easier than the other 4 despite it being ranked a double diamond. Tomorrow I'll bring my cycling GPS which tells me elevation and grade. Not sure how accurate grade will be since it needs to cover some distance to calculate.
  24. I'd be interested to see how steep each slope is at CB, Blue and Montage. Has anyone ever figured out what the grades are?
