  1. Only lift running is Burma Chair. I was going to be first chair but I waited 20 minutes for them to tell me the six pack is going to take a while. The line iced up and the chairs were slipping. David was very nice telling me I’m better off taking the shuttle, but the SP3000 that came over on his snow mobile went with “get out of there, this side is closed, get out.” Drove to the top with one boot off and slayed vista, midway, to lower Main Street on frozen cord. Should soften up as the sun gets higher. Usually I would wait till after skiing for a TR but this lift is so Danny long, I was able to write this. Only other person I saw was Bethlehem Ford guy.

  2. I guess Doug should email JHole about his fall first run, it must have been someone else’s fault! Ruined his pow day, he was so soaked in sweat his goggles froze solid!

Let’s be real if this happened at any other mountain it would have just been a fall, without an email.

Doug’s fall didn’t have a man made feature that was on a list to get marked before opening.

  3. I wouldn't expect anything different, honestly.  A "we're sorry, we'll do better next time" makes sense to me?

He forgot the “we fucked up, let us do something to make it up to you since you can’t move your thumb and are going to PT 3x a week” part. Customer service isn’t always saying the right thing, it’s doing the right thing. I’m bias though. I have to deal with complaints as well, but I know a “sorry” is doesn’t always cut it. Going beyond lip service keeps them for the future and gives them a positive experience to remember, instead of the issue.

  4. I've heard back from JimD.  Apparently, they had the rollers on the list to mark, but other (unknown) priorities delayed it until after someone got hurt.  He claims to be putting in new process that will delay opening, if known hazards aren't marked.  I'm skeptical at best.  Jim is asking me to trust him, after he already failed me.  I think I may need to break up with Blue for a bit.

I don’t blame you for thinking you need a break from Blue. I think ski patrol failed you. They knew the feature/hazard needed to be marked but SP3000 enjoyed their turns right by it that morning without saying they should close it until they mark it. It reminds me of Paradise earlier this year(end of December?) was closed to start so ski patrol put bamboo up along the right side. I don’t get how it’s a new concept to mark everything before opening, sounds like lip service.

  5. Can't wait to be using it at this time in 2 weeks out there. I'll be sure to keep it in my pocket out of sight so the bros don't get too turnt up over it. Sucks for them that I'll be spending money in their town...

I thought the same thing when I read it. Stop taking people’s money if it’s so bad.

  6. That’s badass. I took a dum dum from the bank earlier.  I wasn’t brave enough for the mystery flavor.  Had lemon lime because it reminds me of Margaritaville and Gatorade

I never can trust the mystery flavor since trying Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans.

  7. They used to always be at like 2-3pm and I’m usually home way before then..based on reports from Indiggio and Enjorales they’ve had a decent spread and free soft drinks and I think a drink ticket or two or buy barb a shot and a beer in appreciation of running the best mountain within 25 minutes of city view diner in Whitehall

I wasn’t able to make the “40th season” pass party but since it was a low turn out, I was able to pick up my swag bag at the top lodge a week later.

  8. Crowlers are where it's at. I'm kind of over the whole growler thing at this point. It's getting stupid expensive and the quality isn't there.

Def. Cans can go more places then bottles, but it’s not as “green” as refilling glass.

The term “Crowler” is actually trademarked by Oskar Blues so anytime you see that, they are getting a cut. Some breweries/distributors call it a can growler to get away from this.

  9. I’m not sure what it’s called either.

I think it’s Lazy, Switchback, Lower Switchback, then Challenge. Now that the question has been asked it’s probably turning into number 40.

  10. How was Switchback?

Good, real good. Second favorite of the day. Felt like they blew on it but wasn’t [emoji817] since it wasn’t sticky like the patches on Razors.

  11. Fun morning. Snow was mostly packed sugar, some spots were crushed cookies. I think it depended on what time they groomed the trail as temperatures dropped below freezing over night.

Arrived to 32° and blue skies at 820. Saw TP4 in the lot but didn’t see him after he got first chair. Snow was fast it was a little busier then usual Thursday’s. Took it easy at the bottom of Razors, looking for the Roots Rollers but it must have be groomed out because I didn’t see any. Razors was blown on last night and you could feel it stick hitting the patches. Sidewinder was my ROTM, but it was all pretty good. Off the snow at 1015 and at work by 11.
