Just got back from a quick threefer after a day in the big city. Really nothing much to write home about after how great this weekend was. Ran lazy, switch and main. Everything pretty much the same. Some scraped slick spots with some nice stuff in between.
Overall just nice to be outside for a bit.- 5

I'm seriously feeling the post Jackson Hole blues right now as I slump into my desk chair to stare at my computer for 8 hours and catch up on emails and work BS. After a few runs yesterday morning before heading to the airport, travel back was a breeze through ORD to PHL, and I rolled back into the kunk around midnight.
After thinking about it the whole way home last night, I can say is that JH is a place that feels very different from anywhere else I have skied before. My two big takeaways are:
- The sheer consistency of the steepness across the mountain.
- I like the natural feel of the mountain. It is like skiing as Mother Nature designed it.
My 4 days were the perfect intro and got a taste of everything there is to offer. Yea, the first day I was not feeling well and made a vomit deposit in the hobacks. On second day I felt like a weakling due to not eating at all the first day. Had some terrible vis days and some sun at times. A little sad about no pow other than an angry inch but oh well. Last run off the tram down a sunny Rendezvous bowl then ducking under the clouds to bottom before heading to the airport was a perfect way to wrap the trip up. Can not wait to get back.
Thanks to the boys @GrilledSteezeSandwich @AtomicSkier @mute1080 @NMSKI for being fantastic guides and showing me around.
Oh, and a word of advice... Never trust a fart...

Insurance ? They turn them off right at 7am no matter what they are doing which says to me insurance said keep the lights on until daybreak and we'll take x off your policy.
It has to be something silly like that.

Here is a crazy idea... Maybe they could turn the lights off after close to save a few pennies.

Just wrapped up a quick sesh to stretch the legs and test the body. Did 4 runs. Everything is still soft. First two runs down main were nice and rippin but lower main had washboard rollers. Coming soon was closed initially and then the rope drop and it was rutted up like crazy from BMR but as always the skiers right was nice and the ditch was gettable.
No real crazy lift lines dispite the number of busses across the street. Also turns out the new Blue strategy to handle them is to yell rudely at everyone to load chairs full. I think that’ll work…

I think their book looks like this
1. Make sure BMR is catered to
2. Is the paid parking ok?
3. Hows the magic carpet on frontier alley, is it ready yet?
4. Check on the lifts at the bottom, they're probably fine tho.

Just returned from a quick jaunt. Only did three runs all down coming soon. One look at the lower main/shuttle nightmare and thought best to avoid it. Generally pretty firm on the center of everything I rode. Milked the pushed off snow from the center down skiers left and flirted with the ditch a little. Traffic from the bottom of coming soon to lift was horrendous. Looking forward to an “open” run in the morning for sure…

Obviously hoping for the 4 pm closure. Looking over all of the weather sites, i do think the morning would most likely be dry, but i think some are trending for it to come in sooner. i didnt quite realize how much rain was gonna be associated with it until today. Typical east coast fuckery in December. cold, then as soon as some moisture shows up, it pisses warm rain. then gets cold again. this was our pattern last year. we need to get out of it.
what I've been seeing as well...

damn. i was really thinking paradise would be a lock after the amount of hours they put forth on the snowmaking this week.
the pic for upper is obviously a no go, but its hard to judge what the depth is on the last pic of paradise. Maybe FF to paradise?
Oh, and in the other awesome news department, sundays weather is really starting to circle the drain.
I believe that majority of the rain is supposed to be Sunday late afternoon or early evening. Maybe we get the morning with 4pm closure?
