I'm planning an early hunter trip if they open before BB. JFBB all of dec, Jan and February. Mount snow in April if we have a real winter and they stay open. I'd like to get 50ish days in this season.
In my opinion you need a job while your business grows. It took me 5 years to get to a level where I could survive on the income from my business alone. Add a mortgage, wife and kids to the mix and it was probably year 10 that I could afford them on the income from my business alone.
I have 4 guys that work for me every spring. They have their own trucks, trailers, equipment and insurance. It's a second job for all of them. I pay them 2/3 and keep 1/3. I have zero headaches doing it this way.
Just stick with it. I started as a way to get out of working in a restaurant in the summer after I started teaching. By my 4th year it took off and turned into a real business. Every year after that got bigger and better.
