  1. Unfortunately, no government can pass laws that give people common sense. Though Vermont has done an incredible job protecting their ski resorts. They passed some very definitive legislation that dictates when and when not people can sue. The only times people can sue is if the mountain had obvious negligence like dthmtluncrn said. For example, if they don't service their lifts and a chair falls off or if one of their snowcat drivers runs someone over. So far it's worked great and prevented unecesary lawsuits while letting meritable cases go to court.
  2. From what I heard from friends, they had no jumps and a few boxes and rails. They even managed to put their kink box in backwards. Not sure if anything new'll be in for Sunday.
  3. Hmm.... The bastards lied to me. Oh well, I got it for free from Mark up at CB's shop anyway, so it's all good.
  4. I'm almost positive the Loft doesn't carry it. I went there last year to get some to fix my rock skis and they said they didn't carry it.
  5. I really hope so. Skiing to same 5 trails over and over can get boring quick. It would be nice if they had the park to mix it up, especially the pipe. I wonder if they have already moved some of the rails to rhodo?
  6. Amen to that, though just some local skiing would be enough for me
  7. Do you guys think there would be promblem with getting enough loose snow to build up decent bumps? They could always throw haybales down and blow on them. That would help give the bumps a better pattern. In order to get the bumps set up right for zipperline (In my opinion, the best way to ski bumps) they would need to make sure tight bumps with good lines developed. I'm not sure if the regular clientel at CB skis well enough for that to happen. Most of the ones that form naturally there as of now are spaced way apart and don't have a lick of pattern to them.
  8. I was stuck, enslaved inside a crowded high school I made a dash for the courtyard every chance I got. It wasn't much, but it made my day.
  9. Yeah, because you're too damn lazy to shoot the footy yourself! Haha, j/k I would have been skiing and not shooting footy too. Too bad I had the friggin' SAT's the next morning
  10. Damn, I would have expected better from Boulder. Hopefully it'll be better this year.
  11. I should be getting pics soon. My friend e-mailed some, but my e-mail is being an ***hole. Of course, just when the first good news of the season comes through, technology decides to mess up.
  12. It's official! The snow maker has been pumping out snow in my friend's back yard as of 8:00 12/2. It's currently 30 degrees so the snow quality isn't so hot, but hey, it's snow. As of now there's already a few inches covering most of his yard.
  13. Hell yeah! This winter is going to kick ass. Especially with the local mountains like Shawnee and BB getting massive upgrades.
  14. Please God! I will never miss church again!
  15. I've realized I need to just give up with getting frustrated and becoming hopeful. The only thing I can do is a trip to Vermont and watch tons of ski videos. Trust me, both help tremendously (especially the Vermont part)
  16. I think the trick with the Loft is getting the right people to help you. Some of their staff is pretty bad, but some are damn good with their stuff too. I've gotten to know them over the years and most aren't half bad. Though all the ones I've seen on the hill have really nice stuff and suck. I guess that's life.
  17. Haha, you must have been pretty nervous to fall on a box. Unless it was a 270 on or something like that.
  18. Damn, I need to get up to Boulder and Frost more...
  19. Does that mean you could take the first prize for every prelim? Or you can just compete for the hell of it and not win stuff?
  20. Yeah, unless you're planning to do some big gaps on something like a kink rail, you won't need much of a drop in.
  21. Not fun!? The pipe is great once you get the hang of it. It takes a while to get the feel, but after that it's awesome. But it does tire you out a lot quicker than rails or jumps. It's a lot harder to throw big tricks in, too. I've got a lot of respect for people who can rip in the pipe.
  22. I think he meant to ask if it's actually wide, haha. Anyway, I've given up all hope on CB and on this weather. Nothin I can do about either...
  23. I just got back from Killington, which was pretty decent for the weather we've been given. On Friday, crowds weren't bad until after 12:00, but then it got really bad. Everything got scraped off pretty quickly after that. The worst part was having to take an onslaught of snowblowers to an unprotected face, since I forgot a bandana. Saturday it was packed by 8:30, but conditions were great. It was warmer so they turned the snowguns off and the snow softened up. They had a few nice bump runs to get the thighs burning. T-park wasn't bad for early on either. By 2:00, when I left, it was nothing but ice and human slalom so I came back to the Land of No Snow (PA)
