  1. I'm pretty sure he wasn't head of ski operations there. Shawnee was just a part of a franchise of ski schools that JCK owned. At least that's what I've heard from my dad, who was an instructor during that time. The lucky bastard got to ski with JCK twice a year when he came there to run workshops. I could be wrong though.
  2. Something I would love to see is a big multi-jump that would include a table-top (or cheese wedge) and two hips. It would have the table/wedge in the middle and on each side would be a hip. If you put it toward the top of the line (like right after the cheese wedges you had last year) it could be the splitting point for different lines. The three options on how to hit it could lead you into a three different themed lines. Maybe the middle line (hitting it as a table straight on) would be focused on jumps, while the left line could focus more on rails, and the right could be a mix. I think it would be a pretty fresh set-up for a jump. Insteade of just being limiited to a table-top, you'd have three options to choose from.
  3. She is, she's just a lurker (reads, but never posts).
  4. I bet she'd be down for it. She's a freestyle skier too.
  5. I'll be there. I just watched the trailer and nearly shat myself.
  6. I'm not sure where to get it. I asked my friend where he got it, and he said it just saw it lying around his house so he picked it up. I'm gonna email K2 to see where I can get it.
  7. Any of you seen the new freestyle ski mag, "Skeeze"? My friend brought a copy of it in to school today and it seemed pretty sick. It's the in the style of what Freeze used to be (RIP: Freeze ) It has the same editor as Freeze, and the best part is, it's free! Newschoolers sums it up here http://www.newschoolers.com/NS2/News/ViewN...ull&news_id=917 It just goes to show how all the ski corps are steppin it up in the freestyle side of things.
  8. Word. It'd be amazing if we could get some PBP or TGR film premiers out this way...
  9. I'm planning on buying a pair of powder skis, since my family just got a condo in Vail. I'm thinking some K2 Made'n AK's, or a pair of Vokl Gotama's (my first choice, but they're sooo expensive).
  10. I remeber reading about someplace south of the Mason-Dixon line, somewhere around Virginia and North Carolinia that had the advantage of having high altitude, and a major lake next to it. It was supposed to get some massive amounts of lake-effect snow, around 300 inches a year. I forget the name of it though, anyone else know it?
  11. True bumps + CB ice = blownout knees Not trying to be a downer, I'd love having real bumps at CB, but skiing the troughs with normal CB conditions... <--But with your knees.
  12. Actually, on the topic of lift tickets, I like the ones they use at KMart and out west that zip tie on much better than the metal wickets. Not enough to go on a post-whoring rampage about it like 'Agrajag' though
  13. Don't judge her by that picture, it's not too great (no offense librider). Watch "Yearbook" by MSP and you'll see what I mean.
  14. I met her out at the US Freeskiing Open in Vail, CO. She was pretty nice, and we talked about the skiing in PA, but in real life she's not nearly as hot as in the photos. In my opinion, borderline ugly. A good photographer and Photoshop can do wonders. But there's always Sarah Burke
  15. Well, looks like that's another positive for Cornell. Now it's time to look at some of the schools that are closer to the Vermont mountains...
  16. What do you guys think of Greek Peak? I'm considering going to Cornell University, so that would be my home mountain (I had to ask where the nearest mountain was ). It's only 20 minutes away.
  17. They discovered that erecting plastic tubes with water flowing through them would be much more successful. Stupid CamelBeach How many times can you slide down the same tube over and over again and still be entertained?
  18. They've got a decent amount tech boxes up, with some IMPOSSIBLE rails. That c-rainbow in the picture is up, along with some wierd slanted boxes. They've got a really big up box, a battleship box, and a flat-down box. The S-Rail is up along with a street style handrail (which I blacked out on), a street style triple drop rail, and a Roller Coaster rail. That thing is impossible. I tried it and managed to get 1/2 way, but I can't imagine getting the whole thing.
  19. Luckily this has a happy ending. I went to the Loft, who mounted the bindings, and they said they can fix them to be as good as new with no charge. It also helps to know all the guys there. I never would have made it to the front of a President's weekend line if I didn't, haha. This is where my ski landed after rocketing down the hill. (Note the lack of rear bindings). I thought this one was pretty funny too
  20. I decided to head up to Mt Creek with a bunch of friends on friday. The park was pretty good and we got some hot footage. Anyways, when I didn't finish the rotation on a 3 of one of their jumps, I landed sideways. When I got up, I looked back and saw the rear part of my binding laying the landing of the jump. Then I turned around to see my friend/photographer bolting after my bindingless and brakeless ski which was shooting down the slope. It smashed into a snowboarder down the hill (he was OK) and soared into the woods. So to sum it up, my rear binding ripped out of my ski. Does anyone know if this is covered by warranty? The catch is that this pair of skis was already warrantied from last year, when I snapped that year's model. This makes three pairs of skis broken in two years.
  21. How come I wasn't made aware that you are going up tommorow? Come on man, you know you can't go without me. I noticed some of the comps are there, so I think I'll take a look.
  22. Not so. On the rare ocaisons that we get a decent of snow, my friends and I ski the south trail (To the left of Nile). What you do is as soon as you get off the Stevenson, you click out and bolt up the hill there into the forest. You bushwack for a little bit and come to the road in the state game lands that's above CB. You then make a left and find the old south trail. You need to know the right turns to make to get back to CB though, or you'll end up far away. If you play things right, you end up on and old railroad bed, which you then make a left on and walk about a mile back to Nile. Then it's just a matter of sneaking back onto the trail.
  23. Whenever I see a ranger, I blow by him at mach one (but in a controlled GS turn) out of pure spite. I've only been pulled over twice for that, and both times explained to the ranger that I was completely within my skill range. Both times I was let go with nothing but a warning.
  24. Yeah, there is. You need to e-mail the dude who's running it. I think you could also e-mail boulder...
