  1. I agree, there are few things more irritating to me than seeing shitty websites from respectable, established corporations. In 4 years they`ll have sunk 25 million dollars into the mountain....i don`t think it should be too difficult to drop a few thousand dollars and have someone set up something dynamic that they can easily update. Hell, I`ll be damned if one of the owners doesn`t have a tech savvy teenager who would be glad to do it for $20/hour.
  2. what do you mean you skipped going to the eagles game? you had tickets and didnt go?
  3. The Blue Mt webcam is looking nice .
  4. It would be nice to have sidewinder back as a skiing trail. it was a nice ride, as far as i remember.
  5. I agree. I also posed the possibility of pushing snow onto it, like they did last year when they needed to move the snow from Lazy Mile toward the main lodge in order to stay open. Any thoughts?
  6. NO SNOWMAKING! http://www.skibluemt.com/PhotoGallery My original question was asking if they might open the trail if enough snow fell onto it naturally.
  7. With snowmaking? the pics that were on the mountain`s website didnt show any snowmaking on that slope. What`s the new trail called?
  8. Is there any chance Blue will open the new trail if there is enough snow fall to cover it? Or, would they possibly move snow from other parts of the mountain like they did in the beginning of last season when they moved the snow from Lazy Mile to the lodge area in order to stay open (I know that was a last ditch effort for them to stay open, but its always a possibility).
  9. Its not trying to sound tough...if the other guy takes the first shot then youre completely justified in defending yourself (read: beating the shit out of him). Ive never started a fight in my life, but ive finished all but one of the fights ive been in. when someones crying later after you kicked their ass, they have little room to complain when they started shit with you.
  10. i havent seen those photo gallery pics until now, but im confused. Theyre showing off their newly cut trail that wont be skiable for another year?
  11. As an Electrical Engineer, I find that what we engineers feel is stupid or not often does not affect what an owner desires to do. If they REALLY wish to use pumps to fill their pond from a stream, I`m sure they will find a way to do that. I also endorse their extensive use of those pumps because their consumption of power shall help keep me employed
  12. what is this $125 tune that you are talking about? What does it entail?
  13. i only went to camelback once. i dont really intend to go back, unless its free or theres a nice discount. but anyway, i didnt really see the scope of their water attractions.
  14. oh, and by the way, i really love the videos and pics that sno puts up on their site. its nice to see that theyre updating us on their progress, whether or not it be what they planned to have a year ago. the vids may not be much, but its nice to see that work DID get done.
  15. The Sno site says that phase one (lazy river and pro racer) is/was complete in September. So my question is.... what happens with these attractions in the winter? I suppose they could build the pro racer so that skiers/riders will pass underneath the structure. But what about the lazy river and the eventual wave pool? will they be covered with something and blow snow on top of them, or will they fill them up with snow (which sounds harmful to the attractions)? Or, will these areas no longer be skiable? That does not seem logical as it looks like these attractions are right outside of the lodge.
  16. Is this still available or did i have to buy i back in june? Also, is it valid throughout the season or just on week days? Remember, im coming from Philly, so its usually a 1.25 to 1.75 hour drive, 150 miles round trip (about $15-20 in gas), and about $5-6 in tolls. then i get food, whether its in the lodge, at sheetz, or just some snacks for energy. a day at blue (or any mountain) can end up being expensive for me.
  17. I considered getting a pass but i cant guaruntee ill get up there enough to make it worth it. i graduate in june, next year ill definitely have a pass to blue.
  18. http://www.skibluemt.com/Rates/pricing_html No student rates listed. They show a -$10 college student discount on the daily specials page, but its only on the weekdays. That doesnt help. Thanks, Blue Mountain, for taking an extra $13 from me whenever I wanna ski. The $36 was already gonna be hard enough to scrape together this year.
  19. http://www.steepandcheap.com/ $156 hurry, theyll be gone soon.
  20. I just saw the bulldozer on the park crew myspace and headed over here to complain, but apparently you guys already have it covered... Ill still complain...WHY A BULLDOZER? The comment on the myspace pic was taunting it as the only one in the world. Who cares? They could put the same box on the slope without the bulldozer underneath and the box would be the same, except with less of a reaction from noobs on the lift saying `awesome, a bulldozer` (this would probably help keep people out, as everyone is gonna want to see this thing up close). I agree with TP4, scrap the bulldozer and invest in the mountain (instead of a bulldozer maybe they could have had that new trail open this year).
  21. I was talking to a family friend this weekend and told me about Alpine Mountain in the Poconos. Id never heard of it, so I just checked out the website. It doesnt look like a terrible place, but it doesnt look like theres anything special about it that should draw me there over the other local places. Has anyone here skied there? Does anybody ski there regularly? How is the place, hows the snow, etc...? EDIT: Oh ya, whats the vert?
  22. Im with you doug. And im really enjoying this weather right now because ill be outside all weekend. But this is great, ive been wearing shorts and a tshirt and flip flops everywhere. so convenient.
