  1. They're not rescheduling it. From Blue's site: CANCELLED EVENTS The New Year's Eve Party has been cancelled. If you already purchased your tickets, please call 610-826-7700. The January 6th Bikercross has also been cancelled. It will not be rescheduled.
  2. Looks like an attempt to compete with Blue Mt.'s bus.
  3. will be at killington january 5...but planning to take off from work march 2. what's the event at greek peak?
  4. Which dimension is 70 foot? horizontal? P.S... I think the stairs are a great idea.
  5. My friends and I call that big ass jump The Season Ender
  6. I saw the thread about skiing switch at Park City: Don't let Mark Miller see you riding Switch at Park City..., new rule..link.. Are there any rules about this at Blue Mountain? Any punishments?
  7. Talk to YOUR car about ectasy, folks...
  8. I've seen the races at Blue before but not close up....what are the specs? There are gates, right? And how long is the course?
  9. you can't have a flat landing, but some flat land right after the landing would be nice. that's a pretty large field they have (where the schoolbus is).
  10. Sounds good. I'll be at Killington VT for the first two Nastar days (Jan 4th-7th) but I'll definitely get up there in the following weeks.
  11. Hey all. Can some of you tell me about Nastar? I know I can register on the Nastar website before I go, and I read about their scoring system and such. Otherwise, assume I know nothing (because for the most part, I don't!) What days is it? Do you just show up the day of? How much does it cost? Will I look like a fool if I don't have racing gear or can I just show up in my normal ski pants/coat? Do you have to wait around the whole time or just be there for your division or race? And any other info/helpful hints you could give me would be great. I've been skiing for 10 years...I think I could handle this and it would be fun. Thanks.

hey i lived in lawndale until i was 10, then moved up to bucks county. i've lived at drexel now for 2 years i made it to blue yesterday in about 85 minutes from drexel. where are you coming from to get there faster?
  13. i usually go for the 12:30pm-10pm session. but later in the season i'll be interested in getting up early to go ski. if you ever wanna carpool just PM me...
  14. ya i decided to come up tomorrow morning (sunday will be way too warm). i'll be up there around 9:30, wish i could get there earlier but i'm not a morning person. thanks for the input!
  15. Hi. I'm still trying to figure out when to come to Blue this weekend. I can come up Saturday or Sunday, and the only time that is not possibly is Saturday after 4pm (the night session). Do I come up Saturday morning, afternoon, day, or Sunday morning, afternoon, day, night, etc....? Some advice, please?
  16. thanks for the heads up. please don't get the wrong idea...i'm not trying to cheat the mountains. i pay for my ticket whenever i ski, that is only fair. it is tough being a college student, and it is hard to get other people into the sport because of the cost of a ticket and rentals. it would just be nice if there was a cheap way to introduce people to skiing/boarding without having to rape their wallets or restrict them to the bunny slope for the day.
  17. Unfortunately, I've never really been able to justify getting a season pass. last year i skiied 8 times...6 of them at Blue. the two years before that, I had injuries that prevented me from going up...i think i skiied about 4 times total those two years. this year i could possibly have gotten it, but my money situation is iffy and i have a job that isn't too flexible with Blue Mountain's schedule . i just got my first pair of skis over the summer (early x-mas present ) and i have a car, but next year is looking good for possibly getting a season pass. My card # is in the 300s and my friend's is in the 400s, so i figure there's a handful of people who do have it. I'll let you all know how it works if/when i actually get to use the card. otherwise, i can't complain, since i don't plan on paying more than $39 to ski at blue this year. when is the deadline for the early season pass?
  18. Hey guys. don't call me a noob...but my friend and I bought a Blue Blizzard Card back when it was $30 in October. I was thinking it'd save me a lot of money. That was before I realized Blue had a student rate (did they always have a student rate?) and the only time the card will really be beneficial is for night skiing. I know the card is non-transferrable, but how do they check? reason is, I'm supposed to teach a friend to ski this weekend and I'm trying to help keep costs down for us (she needs rentals too), so it would be nice for me to use my friend's Blizzard Card to get a few bucks off, but I don't want to get in trouble or have the cards confiscated. Chances are, the regular rate will be cheaper than the Blizzard card rate anyway, so I probably will not have this problem. However, I am simply curious. As for skiing this weekend...can somebody who's been there a lot give me the weekend outlook? I was up at Blue this past weekend and am happy with the trails they've opened since, but will the snow hold up with this weather? If not, can I make a cheap day at another mountain? Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated. For anyone who cares, I live in west philly so it's not cost effective for me to get a season pass since i can't get up there every day, or even a few times a week. I have a lot of trips planned this year though!
  19. i HATE to bear bad news, but i talked to 2 ski patrollers at the top of main street tonight (saturday) around 8:30pm. they said they might open lazy mile tonight, but they might leave it closed because of the warm weather. said they don't want to mess it up and lose their base. hopefully i'll be able to get up there tomorrow...and hopefully its open. good luck in the morning
  20. I also cannot view the pictures. Can anyone help me out?
  21. just an FYI I called up the Jack Frost phone number for the condition report, hoping to hear something the website didnt have. Sounds like they're gonna be charging full price there tomorrow...and it says they'll only have 40% of the mountain open. I could only assume Big Boulder is the same. I'm going to Blue Mt. They'll have 1/2 price tickets (I called today). Its closer, and cheaper, plus I really only like JF when the one side of the mountain with the expert trails is open.

I go to Drexel...considering the distance I get up to Blue Mountain a lot. I was up there about 6 last year, with a trip to Bear Creek and a trip Camelback as well. I know it doesnt sound like much, but, I do live in Philly. I have my own skis this year, so costs will be lower and I should at least double those numbers this year. Wish I lived in the mountains
