  1. thats bullshit, they shouldnt advertise a new trail for 07/08 if they cant follow through with it.
  2. Didnt BC have some thing on sunday nights where you get 6 tickets for $66? i think i took advantage of this 2 years ago.
  3. didnt they install snow guns last year right before new years? i'm sure they can have a few trails ready by the end of the season, if not the beginning.
  4. $11 off for Weekday Day or Twilight ticket $10 off for Weekend Day or Twilight ticket $9 off for any night See my complaints above in this same thread. The Blizzard card is really only worth it if you are too old to get the student discount and will be skiing at least 4 times, but not enough times to make the season pass worth it.
  5. Are clothes gonna be on sale? i need new ski pants. how far of a drive is this place from philly?
  6. I purchased the Blue Blizzard Card last year, before I became aware of Blue Mt's student rate. So, the Blue Blizzard card was a waste, and I didn't use it once. If you're under 21 or a student, don't bother with it. If you're not able to take advantage of the student rate, and will ski at least 4 times but not enough to warrant getting a season pass, the Blizzard card could save you a few dollars.
  7. Currently their website says the student pass is for anybody under 21 years old, and this past season the old lady in the summit lodge asked me if i was under 21 every time I purchased a student ticket. I just said i was 21 and showed my student ID (i turned 22 in early march). I'm a lil worried that this will be an issue this year because I'm in my last of 5 years at drexel, and i'll be 22/23 this season, but I'm still absolutely broke being a student. I'll find some way to deal with it.
  8. Hmmm....I'd have to get up there at least 10 times to get my money's worth. i could do it, but there's no telling right now if i'll have days off (though i probably will).
  9. Hi, i'm thinking about getting a season pass for next year. I've heard on here that if you purchase before a certain date you can get about $150 off (or some sort of sizable discount). Has anybody taken advantage of this? When do I need to purchase by? And how much did it cost? thanks!
  10. Ya, it accumulated. I live in west philly, around 32nd and Race....when i left for class this morning there was some snow on my grill and grilling table out back, a lil on the windows, and then on some cars in the lot across the street there was about a half inch coating on the windshields. i can't tell how long it was there...i only saw rain when i woke up at 8.
  11. Nevermind the highschoolers. Facebook is superior, and it's not surprising that it's more popular than myspace. It may not have the music element, but it is a quality website. I couldn't begin to count the number of times I've checked out something on myspace and there was an error or it took 5 minutes to load. facebook is fast and reliable, it's there every time. And facebook doesn't have all of the porn models or bands/labels posting ads to your comment box or sending you silly messages.
  12. Are you kidding me? I'm already planning to hit up Sno Cove this summer. From West Philly. Sno Cove looks like it'll be a pretty nice place. And how about ZipRider...everyone is gonna want to ride that. www.snocove.com - check it out.
  13. Hey all, I'm headed to Blue in the morning for what could possibly be my last day skiing this year. I'll be there from the morning till night (hopefully, as long as I can last), and I'll be by myself. If you see me and want to ski a few runs, feel free to say hi, i've got white/orange skis and black pants (dunno what else, i'll prolly be wearing a blue or white hat though). Looking forward to a nice day tomorrow.
  14. Tretiak were you working the top of the 6-pack on Saturday during the day?
  15. What? are you guys kidding me? This is a conditions thread during the storm of the month. I expected at least 300 replies by now.
  16. It's been sleeting here in Center City Philadelphia since before noon. It was treacherous walking to lunch, and conditions are awful. You hear nothing but horns out the window, and we're up on the 13th floor. It looks real bad out there too. Sleet/ice was already accumulating 4 hours ago.
  17. That's pretty awesome...way to ride out the storm!
  18. I agree ski...i was there last Wednesday morning and the guy at the bottom of Pheobe was pretty cool. They all seem pretty friendly there.
  19. Sorry to get off topic, but, Is NASTAR done for the season? Everywhere?
  20. i MIGHT be up for a trip during the week of March 26. I'll let you know. There's a chance i might spend a few days at my buddy's house near Scranton (in Moscow) to ski Elk and Sno. I was planning on waiting till April, after all the other places close, to hit up JFBB.
  21. I voted for all 3 at the same time. There were check boxes, not radio buttons, used for the poll.
  22. I know man...and it was the last thing I wanted to do. I (reluctantly) let my doctor talk me into it over the phone. Like I said, I should have considered my own judgment more.
  23. Ya, I definitely think the tightness of my boots had something to do with it. I like them pretty tight. Also, the single digit temps didn't help either. Where can I get these boot gloves? Sounds like a good idea for the cold weather. Does putting that on the outside of the boot really help? I would think you'd want something on the inside, where you are trying to contain the body heat. Well, I'm happy with how I handled the situation yesterday, and I caught the problem before it became an issue. I'll be more cautious in the future when skiing in the extreme temps. As for the ER trip, I should have trusted my own judgment. The PA and MD at the ER sorta laughed at me and said with such a mild problem the solution was to slowly warm the foot (which was all I wanted to do in the first place). Since they saw me 4 hours after the problem started, my toes were obviously warmed up. I'm still pretty bitter about the waste of time/money yesterday.
  24. Well, I hit up Sno Mtn for the first time today. I took off from work for my 22nd birthday, and my buddy and I headed up to Elk for the college discount day. The snow and driving conditions were bad though, so I convinced him to go to Sno instead. I was pretty impressed with Sno, the conditions were PERFECT. Everything was powder. It was looking like a good day. Until my toes started feeling too cold . On the lifts I noticed my right toes were pretty cold, to the point where it was bothering me. If I only thought of it once I woulda brushed it off, but it kept bothering me. We went in for a bathroom break and a quick snack, and my toes were still pretty cold. I took off my boots, and my right big toe was kinda swollen, with a hot spot developing. I threw on a pair of fresh socks and found an employee who called up ski patrol for me. The patrol dude came in and took a look and said it was probably early in the stages of frostbite. I talked to the family doc, who said if it was a blister I should go to the ER...but if it was just a hot spot I could just warm it up slowly in water. I was almost sure it was a hotspot and I could just warm it up...but the doc, the patroller, and my mom convinced me to go to the ER. I know it's better to be safe than sorry, but this just bummed me out. I got to the ER, and after about 2 hours of waiting, the PA and doctor checked me out for a total of about 3 minutes, told me it was nothing and obviously it had warmed up over the 4 hours since I had come off the slopes, sorta laughed at me for being there, and sent me home. Now I'm just disappointed I didn't get to ski more in such perfect conditions. I saw some PASR stickers on poles 4 and 6 on the pheobe lift...awesome. I hope the trails they put in next year are intermediate hills and a bit difficult...the blues they have now are kinda mild, though the width was incredible. All the blacks were very nice to ski on...White Lightning was awesome. I was so disappointed I didn't get to ski that more than once. I'll definitely be up to Sno again! There's only one way to feel better after a shitty day...go out to the bar with your friends! "Beer...the cause of, and solution to, all the world's problems."
  25. Sounds good. My birthday is tomorrow, I'm taking a day off from work and hitting up Elk's Wednesday college discount.
