I have a 07/08 Salomon Pulse 156 Board for sale, bought it last season with the Force bindings for about 400. Board is in great shape with average signs of use. I can provide details if anyone is interested. Looking to get about 200ish for it. Also have a set of Ride LS bindings (Lg) for sale. They are also used but in great shape. Looking for $45 for those. i was killing some time today and stopped by TJ MAxx, and they have a bunch of pants and jackets in stock, lots of marker, and a decent selection of pants, all pretty good deals, especially If you dont mind wearing last years stuff at half price. Also, the ski corner is having their tent sale, starting tomorrow. I stopped in to look around and left with a sweet deal on a new board... oh well. rent is for losers.

well, the board seems fine, so I am going to upgrade bindings. My boots (burton) are warm and comfy and I have no complaints there, any recommendations on bindings in the 150ish price range. Im thinking salomom spx45 or relays. any comments?

i have never really ridden a nicer board, most of my friends have stuff on the same level as mine. i know my bindings were pretty cheap so I'm probably going to get a better pair. The board seems like its nice, but it is considerably more stiff than most nicer boards I have looked at. I dont do much park, and mostly just like to cruise and ride fast, so I'm thinkin stiffer is better. thanks for your input.

I probably do not know anything, but It seems to me that the water park, or lack there of should not be used as a gauge of sno's success as mountain. I spent alot of time up there last winter, and it seemed like for the most part they had their shi* together, especially compared to the montage days. They have made improvements, but are trying to do alot at once. I think that weather allowing, this should be a great season for sno, and hopefully they receive some positive hype for it. I feel like everyone is a little too anxious to jump on sno and forecast the fate of the mountain. just my 2cents

So, last year I bought a Salomon Pulse board with the force bindings(salomon). I was thinking about upgrading, wondering if having a cheaper board would be holding back my riding this year. The board was 250 by itself. does anyone have any input about whether I should upgrade board or bindings or both?

hopefully they will work on the super ridiculous monster pipe early, with the necessary dirt work, so that when they need it, they aren't neglecting the rest of the mtn and park to build it.

My buddy and I went up Sunday and got our passes, and the lady was super nice and said she has sold a bunch of passes already. Hopefully if enough people get their passes early Sno will get on top of things that need early attention, like the pipe, and other dirt work, so when cold comes they can blow a ton of snow! I bought the unlimited, figured it would make me go more often to get my money's worth. Lets hope farmer's almanac is right!

I would like to add: all the trails have lights! I agree though, sno is doing alot to improve the mountain and I think this year is going to be a good one for them. 550 is not that bad if u go enough, and for all of us who live in Scranton, it is so much more convenient than to driving to elk, especially when the roads suck. (and all the trails have lights)

i was considering a season pass this year, anyone have input on whether or not it would be worth it to get the unlimited pass or if i should just go for the midweek. either way i would just have to hope they dont use all their guns on a 7 million foot half pipe this year.

went up to sno tonight..apparently my school (university of scranton) gives you phys ed credits for snowboarding...awesome. The mountain was in decent shape considering the rain and warm weather the last few days. most of the upper trails had some nasty ice spots, but were mostly ok, hardpack with some loose granular on top. whistler has great snow compared to the rest. I only rode lower runaway/fast track on the NF, and conditions were slightly better down there. the pipe is absolutely ginourmous, and groomers were on it all night, i wish they would put that much effort into the other trails though..

i don't want to take sides with anyone or piss anyone off, but papasteeze has a point. I joined this board at the beginning of the season, and just started snowboarding this year (i used to ski-board). I joined the forum hoping to be able to have up to date reports on the conditions, meet some local riders and such. Every post gets flamed by someone and turns into an argument, often not even related to the original post. Ski, if you read this, Why are you so hostile towards everyone who criticizes sno? Just wanted to put my 2 cents in on this one. Also, sno has been blowing for 2 days now, and forecasts are predicting up to 6 inches tomorrow...lets hope for some great conditions!

were the upper trails open? whistler looked like it had bare spots as did spur, but the site says open....Its not very cool of sno to keep trails listed as open when they are not, it is not the first time it happened.

That was what it said this morning but the site is back up to 24 open (and "packed Powder"- I doubt that). maybe they were closed for grooming? I was considering going up tomorrow but wanted to get an idea of what the conditions were like.
