  1. im there like 4 or 5 times a week, so I'm game...as long as its not a saturday during the day.
  2. Well mainline sounds dif. than last week when I was up then, and that setup sounds pretty decent. I'm goin up tomorrow night, so I guess I'll check it out then.
  3. In response to Holdenstepchilds post, I agree with Clauss that it is completely unprofessional of you to come on here representing yourself as a sno employee and call people pussies and babies. In regards to the jump stuff, and making sno's park "progressive", thats cool, but you have to start somewhere, and it seems to me that building huge jumps is not progressing many people, and most people are just unhappy. Sure other mountains have much bigger jumps, but they are usually on much bigger mountains, with bigger park crews, and with a larger constant customer base who can utilize such features to their fullest instead of getting hurt on them. I understand that having a progressive park will attract more customers, but rome wasn't built in a day. It seems to me that having a consistently good park with moderate features that change somewhat often would be a better place to start. I have been trying to progress my park skills this season, but I find many of the features to be too difficult for someone who doesn't ride park much. I guess maybe I am a pussy too who should go ride at Elk. Edit: I would also like to add that you mentioned planet bringing alot of people in because they had never seen a real park....well im pretty sure that those lame ass features are what got people up there to ride. Maybe adding to such features would be better than trying to cater to riders and skiers who supposedly have already "left sno" because they could no longer progress. Maybe the focus should be on what people like myself, Clauss, and sjb, who paid $550 for a pass.
  4. yesterday they had all the rails off spike and back on mainline. Spike had some jumps started but they werent all really done yet. Mainline was in the works, with lots of stuff, and the spine, and rail jam stuff is still setup at the bottom.
  5. I could probably make the 15th. Or any Sunday. Saturdays are always out for me b/c of work.
  6. its supposed to be open all year, but they seem to have a hard enough time keepin the mountain running smoothly without having people on foot riding lifts to get to the zip rider. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't open back up until summer.
  7. I got up there at about 5, and the long haul was NOT running. WTF with that? Oh well, conditions were great tonight, and they are getting some big jumps built on spike.
  8. haha, is it really? The funny thing is the second time, I immediately ducked back in, and after about 50ft, I clipped a tree with my tail and chipped my topsheet. oh well.
  9. Yea, its cool that they weren't being huge jerks or anything, I was watching that show about Blue on trutv, and it seemed like some of those guys down your way live to be douches. I still don't know why they even said anything, people ride the trees all the time, and I was in the actual"glades" area.
  10. got up the mtn at around 12:30. I almost said screw it because the lot was packed, most cars I've seen there in a very long time. Headed down boomer for a few runs, which was groomed out nice, and had some fluffy powder on the sides, the center of the trail was a little slippery though...which was the case on most of the northface. Smoke was closed most of the time I was there for racing or some crap, and when it opened it was an over-ski'd choppy mess. Everything was open today, and the glades were even ridable, but ski patrol yelled at us twice for riding the trees, which has never happened to me before(they were yelling at people but everyone was in the trees, because they were just like "dont do that" and would ski away". The park on spike is developing, had some huge piles on it, and a few boxes that were fun, but mainline has nothing on it all, except for the spine and stuff at the bottom where the ohnine jam was. Overall, good conditions and it was nice to be able to ride the long haul for some longer runs without having to ride 2 lifts. edit: I forgot to mention, despite the packed lots, there were NO lift lines at all, and the trails were far from crowded, it is more crowded on weeknights on the slopes, and we were like wtf...but when I went into the lodge for a beer, it was apparent that all the saab and volvo drivers were hangin in there.
  11. I'll be headed up tomorrow in the morning sometime..prob around 10 or 11 since I've been drinkin and prob won't stop soon. I'll be in a black/white plaid jacket, black or grey pants. Holla at me.
  12. I'd recommend sno. There will almost definately be small crowds compared to other mountains, There is some tree skiing available, and there are always little kickers and such on the sides of random trails that people cut out throughout the day. Also, they have been blowing a ton of snow for the parks which look so far like they will be really good, so your son can ride on the park trails for jumps and rails and such.
  13. I hit up the mountain tonight from 5 until close. Conditions were decent, but not great. Lower runaway had some nice powder on top of ice, But everything else was pretty much frozen solid. The bumps in smoke were crappy, frozen hard, kind of icy...and had no rhythm. Boomer was groomed out and had some loose snow on top of the icy base. They were blowing tons of snow on the parks (spike and mainline) and had every gun available going on those two trails. Lower fast is still closed...but I don't know why. There are huge piles of snow on it...and it has a decent base aside from the piles. They closed rattler right after I got there because it was pure ice. I pretty much lapped boomer and lower runaway all night..the park sucked to be in with all the guns on. I wish they would groom lower fast track and get it open. I didn't get stuck behind a single ski instructor or ski team, so I was a happy camper tonight.
  14. the news guys said it was due to people rocking their chairs too much coming up the lift.
  15. Just got back from a trip to Killington, and had a great time. My only complaint was we missed out on the awesome views due to the storm...which brought plenty of pow! Wednesday was kind of weird...snow was great...but it was half sleeting, and windy which kind of sucked up on the peak because it was basically a white out but it was icing your goggles up too. Thursday-holy powder. We got hit with almost 2 feet by early morning and it was coming down all day. Fantastic conditions. Overall I had a great time, it was my first time on a big mountain and it was great to ride some more challenging terrain and real powder. Here are a few pics.
  16. they have been blowing upper runawway/fasttrack, and lower fasttrack and rattler...They are probably trying to get them open before they start the park. More day trippers and such will ride trails than park. I think that they will be able to get everything open by the weekend. I'm a little frustrated too but they have been workin hard it looks.
  17. Hit up the mountain around 5 today, took some runs with d.clauss. The mountain is looking great...they have been making snow around the clock pretty much all weekend...they should be able to get everything open by the weekend...and I would think that some park setup on spike will be coming soon enough as well. Oh yea, and LIGHTS, they put a bunch of new white lights on mainline finllaly. It was a little icy in spots, but overall, they grooming was good...and smooth. I'm headed to killington tomorrow, I'll try to get some pics up, I'll prob bring my mac up with me.
  18. im with snoskier....stay at the radisson...its a really cool old hotel, with a nice bar in it...and you are within walking distance of a dozen sweet bars and restaurants.
  19. I paid 500 for a pass as Sno, and we get no benefits whatsoever...makes me think why not... I didn't know mountains gave pass holders stuff like skipping lift lines.(not that those ever exist at sno anyway)
  20. A friend of mine has had 3 zeppelins...he swears by em. I've ridden it a few times....seems like a good all around board, with alot of pop...in my opinon (I ride boards with more mellow flex).
  21. ski corner got a pair of lashed in..more than I wanted to spend...but I got them molded and figured they should last me. They seem suuuuuuuper comfy so far...we'll see how they ride soon enough.
  22. wow snoskier.....did you just read my last post in the crappy website thread!? Great TR, glad to hear good stuff from people about Sno. I was going to go up today but I hurt my shoulder in the park on a stupid little rail...plus i didn't wake up till noon, so I took the day off. Hopefully the cold means lots of snow will be made the next couple nights!
