Ah ha - ever experienced vertigo? truly a very weird thing to be out west, in thin air, on steep ungroomed slopes and not be able to even see your skis, the fog is so thick.. I thought no biggie, I can "feel" my way down, and then... wham it starts to hit you, you feel woozy and start loosing your sense of balance because your eyes are wide open and everything is white and there is nothing below but a 30 degree pitch, no horizon, no nothing and every time you move you move downwards.... Weird really weird....

Well, with that. I still would go see a Bode Tour De Whatever..
-
hahahaa - no they wouldn't - I am just an easy target to blame for whatever the real reason is they won't join. They are already members of another team. They just don't like me asking them to do anything. They don't want their real name given out? They don't want to see themselves ranked? There are only 2 members that I badger - our newest racing post wh0r3, dugout and volklfreeskier - but that was in acceptance of some type of challenge - so really there is only one.

Oh yeah!! I didn't even know they existed until the end of last season. KMC in Kennett Square - nationally ranked certified this and that coaches, alot of them with strong european accents commute from Philly. None of them with cross training experience related to skiing. However, I gave the tramp coaches some current DVD movies of Tanner and the likes and they are all excited to help.

Did you need some Maalox or something to get over your sickness?

The warm weather has created havoc!! so instead of cancelling again they are having the comp in the small park. Typically you raise your right hand to signal that you are dropping in switch. Skiers just ski backwards

The other side is facing the wrong way for a ski slope - it will melt off!! -
Uh - I haven't called yet, but this is what is on the website: NASTAR is cancelled for tonight, 1-11-06. Racing will resume as soon as conditions permit. The Showdown Slopestyle Competition, sponsored by Pinnacle Sports, is going down this Thrusday, January 12 on Cascade Terrain Park. Cascade Park will be closed all day Thursday. The Showdown Halfpipe Competition scheduled for Thursday, January 19 has been postponed. Check back for info on the new date.

Jeez - ski - you do know how to take the FUN outa things. PASR is the first "club" that I have felt really good about. There can/could be a real racing team with in PASR someday to go to the ASRA or masters stuff. But with that attitude..... There are a bunch of racers here and with them all pooled - I am sure that we would score well amongst the bazillion other club teams. Why not be positive and progress and try to build something rather than.. Skiing is an individual sport, no doubt. But joining team, especially a winning team helps everyone excel, or so I would think. When you say "no one would give a flying crap about our team" ... I just don't understand why you degrade such a large national program like that. What the hey is the matter with forming a team and getting people to join it? Why not. The only negative I can see is that someone might get teased because someones handicap is better? Isn't that the whole idea of why at each race you try and go a little faster.

I know one of the first things I am going to do with a winning lottery ticket. I am going to have cloning perfected and plant Marks at every mountain in the US !! sorry, off topic. yeah. more lighting! -
Here is an edit from that day after the comp http://media.putfile.com/ski112K_Stream93

That has been a debate everywhere that I don't understand. I guess if I could flip off of something I would. But until that time, I tend to think that anyone who thinks that flips on the snow is goofy is just jealous that they can't do them. Laid out backflips on skis are old school stylish.

To Bear or Blue? This is a Bear Creek Thread - OH! so you know, Blue is the only mountain that I can't seem to get inside of, in relation to PASR. I don't know how their email system works, but....

Maybe... truly... he is a really naive honest country bumpkin.... not that there is anything wrong with that. I say give the guy a break and be positive in support, there is a huge event coming up and the USA is poised to do well. Bode is capable of doing well. I am sure that if we was given everything he asked for or removed this type of bad press that his results would be better. Does anyone know exactly when that 60 minutes interview was done? Maybe... he knows he f'd up and that is why he has had lesser results since Birds of Prey. Who of us really knows? None! Be supportive to all our team players, don't degrade. closest parking should always be for paying customers

Trust you and you not acknowledging that the membership here has tripled since The PASR NASTAR Club was formed? Absolutely not..... Volkl - his home mountain and a CB employee and an instructor doesn't even know Nastar registration details.. Just cause you are sick of reading it, doesn't mean that others aren't seeing it for the first time. I never went back through old posts when I signed on. Get over it! I am on a mission to help CB with things like sending employees to an employee lot. I hope they make it the lot closest to the lodge, which is essentially what it is. I can not accept those terms, especially in light that an instructor is not aware of the details of a recreational racing program offered at his home mountain. Besides - My negative comments are geared towards constructive critisism. (pssst. so you know, I have been thanked for some of them privately) Overall, I am very happy with CB - there is just so much room for improvement. Change the terms. This is my forum too!! Besides CB is my home mountain - I don't critisize other mountains, only my own. That's the different drummer thing... Yeah - I thought he did too. Good Luck Volkl - Saturday was looking sketchy for my attendance due to nipples wanting to go to a school dance. I THINK he has changed his mind in light of a discussion about his finals in Killington.

Here is some more info/rebuttals: Here are some comments Bode wrote in the Denver Post ( http://www.denverpost.com/snowsports/ci_3386469 ) " I got a lot of attention last week for telling "60 Minutes" I sometimes race while impaired by the effects of alcohol. They made it sound like I raced when I was drunk... If you wait to celebrate until after Sunday's slalom, everybody has to leave for flights back to the U.S. and half the people are gone already. So we partied on Saturday night. Then I raced the slalom the next day. That's the story... Being hung over is a form of impairment, though. It's really hard to race that way. I probably should not have raced that slalom at the finals, even though I won the top split of the first run, won the second run by .3 of a second and finished sixth in the race... Racing downhill is different. You'd be insane to race at the speeds we achieve in downhill while impaired in any way. I never drink the night before a downhill. " Huh. Not really that controversial. He's the first US man in two decades to win the World Cup, so he went out and celebrated (too much) while his family/friends were there. Bad role model? Think of other great racers. Should we all jeer Tomba for his apres ski activities? Eh, I'd say Bode's "crime" is a lack of discretion when deciding what to disclose to 60 Minutes. But one-on-one's with the USSA President? Ultimatums from coaches? Why would the USST start peforming in this circus? _________________
