  1. Thanks for that question Salty. It's because most people fly into Phoenix in the winter to escape winter...go golfing and enjoy the warm desert air. Hence the joke about me being the only person bringing skis. Hope that helps and thanks again for the clarifying question!
  2. Why do you care that we care? If someone is confused by something I write I want the opportunity to clarify for them.
  3. Salty what in this post is so confusing to you? How can i explain this in troll speak so you can better understand?
  4. The Abbot tests appear to be the gold standard for at home tests at the moment.
  5. I have a pair. Like them but went back to Dalbello last season.
  6. You're probably right. Could've been my plan or something.
  7. Whenever they have symptoms which, unfortunately, happens a lot when they go back to school. Better to be safe and know IMO...not just for sending them back to school purposes but visiting family members etc. Came in handy having the test last week for sure. Yes I had to bribe them with buying them something from Amazon if they let me stick the swap up their nose but whatever. And yes to the vaccine when approved.
  8. They're not. I tried swiping my hsa card at Walmart and it wasn't approved.
  9. Highly accurate if you have symptoms Sensitivity of the BinaxNOW antigen test, compared with polymerase chain reaction testing, was lower when used to test specimens from asymptomatic (35.8%) than from symptomatic (64.2%) persons, but specificity was high. Sensitivity was higher for culture-positive specimens (92.6% and 78.6% for those from symptomatic and asymptomatic persons, respectively); however, some antigen test-negative specimens had culturable virus. How to use: The BinaxNOW antigen test is pretty easy to take – only a shallow nostril swab is necessary. There's a card you place your swab into. Like a pregnancy test, a single line means the test is negative. Two lines indicate a positive result. Accuracy: The BinaxNOW test correctly gave a positive result 84.6% of the time compared to PCR. In the same study, the test correctly gave a negative result 98.5% of the time. Availability: The BinaxNOW test costs $24 for two tests, which are meant to be used on the same person within three days (serial testing). The BinaxNOW test does not meet travel requirements for testing.
  10. I got 1 on the way from Amazon and 2 coming from cvs.com that I ordered this morning. The one I got last week was from the Walmart in Lehighton...was 14 bucks. Was the last one left. At cvs.com they're 25 bucks now. Edit...cvs.com is sold out now. Damn.
  11. CVS.com has some in stock now.
  12. The rapid at home tests are the bomb, especially in the fall when the kids and back to school...spreading germs everywhere. Kids were sick (coughing, runny nose etc) and Pharmacies are sold out everywhere. Finally found one at Walmart (they had one left and I asked them to hold it for me). They come two in a pack. Tested both kids...negative which is in line with the test taken at the UC. I'm stocking up on these bad boys for future use. They cheap and on Amazon right now. Update...so I can't stock up...They're sold out but I was able to grab one last week which is being shipped.
  13. Maybe they already took all of the money that they could from the table.
  14. Flight to AZ booked in Jan. Gonna book a room in Flagstaff for a few days at snowbowl. I'm 99.9% sure that I'll be the only person on that flight bringing skis as one of my checked bags. Lol
  15. I got one of these too. No after-school club basically. Just discounted passes sold to the group. I may do the 189 for my 11yo. It includes Blue Mt and CamelsAss...plus they're tossing in a 25 dollar gift card.
  16. Meanwhile over to the west...its fruity pebble season.
  17. I don't necessarily disagree but IMO the trend is multi mountain passes at a decent price (600 to 800 range) as opposed to 600 to 800 for one resort. Skiing has never been cheap as we all know.
  18. I actually think that's his phones camera lens.
  19. I did and 549 is fair price in my opinion....even 600. Just hope the 799 however isnt a sign of things to come. I can see a $799 pass coming and they justify that by including CB. For us that's the equivalent of what Vail did to the Whitetail locals.. sure its a good deal in theory but meaningless if you're not using whatever the justification is for the price hike. There's comes a point where you question whether or not it's worth spending the money before you blindly swipe the credit card. $800 for a Blue pass is there. Again just hypotheticals and chatter right now because I spent the 549 and am excited to ski my beloved Blue. I just hope the new management keeps things reasonable for early bird and what not. Regarding the season pass cap. I didn't know there was one! Have a feeling this is gonna be an interesting year.
  20. 799...f that. I'd buy an indy and be done with it. Shits gettin cray.
  21. 1 dollar!
  22. Next time I'll work on my diagonal line game.
  23. IMO vert us only a thing in the east. In the west it's irrelevant because of the total acreage you're skiing. Imagine thinking Brighton is small because of its 1800 vert.
  24. @toast21602 does this put me in the line club?
  25. I like this site because they use legit vert. Basically top to bottom without having to take a lift or traverse. http://mountainvertical.com/true-up-vertical.html They have Big Sky at 4016 and Jackson at 4100. The bird is at 3243 and steamboat at 2479 (although they advertise as being much higher). In the east its the Face at 3216 (number 12 overall in the US). Sugarbush at 2552 and Sugarloaf at 2410. They have Killington at just a hair over the mighty Blue at 1645 (Killington peak basically). Blue of course is at 1082.
