  1. Guess they want to take NY’s thunder!
  2. Had a dream last night of @enjoralas first Sausage Sunday next season...
  3. He’s great! Been following him for a long time.
  4. I think they have to pay port fees/taxes or something like that, but that's about it. Probably have to buy fuel, but I wouldn't be surprised that they try to avoid that as well.
  5. Not to mention that they're headquartered outside the U.S. to avoid paying as many taxes as possible to the U.S., so why should they be getting any bailout $$$?
  6. Heritage Guild store is open by appointment, but I don't think the range is open.
  7. Well that tears it!! https://www.cnbc.com/2020/04/15/drinking-alcohol-can-make-the-coronavirus-worse-the-who-says-in-recommending-restricting-access.html
  8. Just like Mike said on our Utah trip, he had all the primer/probe sequences from the initial qPCR assay in house and could have done tests w/ results in a few hours. Just boggles the mind as to what’s going on with testing in the US. Another Dr. said any large university typically has the equipment to do the tests, but the CDC is blocking them from doing that. It seems as though they want complete control. With NY/NJ being hot spots, it’s fine that they use the tests there, but I’m sure they’ll provide the technology for others to do it too.
  9. Could be a game changer... https://www.rutgers.edu/news/new-rutgers-saliva-test-coronavirus-gets-fda-approval
  10. Wait until summer tan weather kicks in!
  11. In Sam's yesterday, more people were wearing masks than not. However, I did see some employees w/out masks and one customer with no mask, but gloves on. Masks in any store should be mandatory for everyone at this point. It feels really weird donning a mask and walking into a store for some reason.
  12. You're welcome and anytime.
  13. Here's one that'll play historical values and has a logarithmic scale. PA cases seem to be flattening/dropping, but deaths are still on the climb. https://aatishb.com/covidtrends/
  14. Storm knocked power out here around 9:30am, so with all the rain & wind, I figured people wouldn’t be out shopping and that turned out to be the case. Hit Sam’s for a ton of stuff paper toweling & TP, fruits, vegetables, snacks. Set for a while from there. Grocery stores were practically empty too, but pickins of some things are still slim.
  15. I've got a big deck. Just sayin'...
  16. I believe they were working on one for a previous SARS virus, but it was contained and then the need and funding for it dried up.
  17. It’s a running contest and whichever company does create one will be in the Eddie $$$$.
  18. Perhaps if he had a balloon around him like in the cartoon!
  19. They already have about 10 vaccines in the works with at least one starting clinical trials this month. It’s not like companies have never created vaccines before, so they have some basis on which to build and with the number of companies working on it, they *should* have results quicker. On top of it all, RNA/DNA sequencing takes a fraction of the time it used to, which the Chinese had already done for Covid-19 back in January. Luckily they were open enough to share the sequence right away, allowing researchers to immediately start working on a vaccine. Hope springs eternal!
  20. I'm hopeful for a vaccine sooner than later, mainly because there's more of a concerted effort going on to create one against this virus.
  21. Nope, not kidding. I told her I'd shave it instead, but that didn't go over so well.
  22. Ditto. However, wife hadn't got a haircut for a few weeks before the lockdown took effect and so, after watching a few YouTube videos I took the scissors in hand... I'm still alive and typing, so I guess I didn't do that bad a job!
