How much was airfare?  I know when I flew virgin airlines to London two decades ago, airfare was almost a grand.  I think the highest I’ve paid domestic was $5something to JH one year.  I’m going to a family wedding next month in jersey city and my parents paid for my hotel room.

It was around $1,000 per ticket.  Easter weekend so basically worst possible scenario for prices.

  2. I spent the most I've ever spent on an airline ticket to Phoenix for my brother in law's wedding last month.  It was a bank breaker traveling with the whole family on not a lot of advance notice in this current price environment.  Worth it for a family event, but DAMN.

Bachelor is soooooo dope, like Highlands or Palisades, for me it's exactly what I want in a ski area.

From the moment you are about 15 miles out it looms large in the distance and as you get closer and closer you can't believe they ran a lift to the top.  20220402_074630.thumb.jpg.0d04284e6bd1bf211ed2a889a6f7d006.jpg

I was expecting firm cord at opening so I started an Sunnyside which gets first light.  Surprisingly there was some light chalk around and first run it was nice cord. I ran groomers off cloudchaser and pine marten until noon with zero lines and jump off everything super soft. Super playful constant action kinda terrain where you can work in endless airs.

After lunch the summit lift was turning and a 15 min walk later and I was standing up top to harvest some corn.20220402_131844.thumb.jpg.a11e5d6737644a828af59ae8b39d8d67.jpg

The wind had blown the top arm to rotten terrible sastrugi so I zipped around to hit the morain face I had scoped from the lift.

I was mostly trying to get to the gully to farm corn but why not get there via a more spicy route. The cut in on the cornice was over medium shark fin but one tech turn and it was an apron to milk turns. I was for a second in my head thinking this is a super bad idea so I was stoked it worked out.

Looking up you can see its more chalky snow and I thought I had fucked up on the corn

A tech entry means low traffic and staying up on the Ridge I wondered into perfect super baked up corn untouched. It was pure Nebraska corn harvest and I milked the fuck out of those turns all the way to the lift.

The rest of the day I ran groomers under the skyliner lift which is busted.  It was super nice zero traffic groomers though the slog out sucks hairy ballsack when it's 65 degrees down low. Now I'm eating pizza hut breadsticks from an actual pizza hut restaurant.

Super super dope spring day, peeps are so nice with zero pretentiousness and almost no Jerry's. I could spend a lifetime their and be super super happy but there is a potential for 30+" at baker Monday/ Tuesday so I may start making my way up there and hit meadows on the way tomorrow.  Seriously though for a 1000 reasons Bachelor is le tits, it's a volcano you can ski all the way around, the terrain is endless.

Sweet!  I rode the lift at Taos with some guys from bachelor who were the nicest ever.  I’ve always been intrigued by the cinder cone at bachelor for some reason.

Imagine the groupies Ski2Live got after the free concert The Beagles performed at the Princeton library.  The stories from their tour bus would make the Antics of Motley Crue and Ozzy Osbourne seem tame in comparison.

Get the mop out when Ski2Live says Co-Lo-Ra-do.

I have a couple minutes before my 1pm appointment so might as well make some more additions to this thread.  Spanakopita was bomb as always..like three different crews enjoyed it.  NMSki was missing but there in spirit let’s hope he’s out this weekend.  Toast was very giddy, was a normal ski day for GSSucks cracking a cold American beer at 7something in the AM.  Root was there got to follow him down lazy mile. The root he takes is more like a mile and a half lol.

    Customers here TBC

I'm still fucking pissed I couldn't be there.  Would have been my last day at Blue since we're going to Vermont this weekend.  Glad everyone had a blast however I am very jealous.

Whitetail is freaking far from the Philly burbs.

I’m likely the western most PASR in reference to the Philly burbs and whitetail is a 3 hour drive give or take a few. It would be an absolute nightmare to get to from conshohocken, manayunk, etc as you’d have to either go 76-202-81 or 95 south through Baltimore to 70 west, could easily be a 4 hour trip.

edit: forgot about 30, but good luck with 30.

Whitetail is 2 hours and 44 minutes from my house.  Didn't realize it's that close.  Elk is 2 hours 33.  Is whitetail good?

It's time to buy a pass and honestly it's not as easy to do this year as in past years. I think $650 is the tipping point for people like me that live farther away. $650 is still a no brainer for someone within a 30 minute drive of Blue but it starts to get untenable for someone like me who's a weekend warrior and hopes to not be too busy for a few RAWS.

Especially with all the other pass options out there for New York, Indy, Epic and Ikon it actually is more to think about than I thought. Any thoughts from the Philly and Philly burbs guys?

I've been getting less bang for my buck the last couple years from my Blue pass, but by making the investment in the pass it makes me have an incentive to get out there at least once per week when I'm not traveling somewhere else.  It would suck to show up and pay $100 bucks to ski there.  If things are cranking in early December and they keep open all the way through you can make it really worth your while.  The shutdown in mid-december and some family stuff cost me 2 or 3 valuable ski days this year.

I have blue + Ikon for 2022-23 and I think its gonna work out great.

Fun night. Chatted with @momskeeztoo and Marty on the walk out. Sounded like they had a grate day and we’re still there after 5.

Rain held off but it did get quite dark before sunset and was hoping the lights would come on.

Razors was my ROTN with a close second to TCS after skating for it since only the 6 was open. Ending up with a full chair after meeting up with @mbike-ski, @Dirtwolf, @NMSKI, and mini @NMSKI. Mini NM is quite the ripper and hopped right into Barney’s without even a pause at the top.

59° when we left at 745 so hopefully they have some magic to keep the snow around.

Was a very fun night!  I always enjoy the sporty slush.  After skiing in those conditions on his tiny little season rentals my sons legs were cooked.

Fuuuuck dude that ski has been on my list for awhile and with the Forza colored clamps.

If it doesn't bother you I'd love to take a run on them sometime.

Bert always shares his skis with Ernie.  I think I'll have them on Sunday.

    That’s not his…

Correct, those were the pics the guy sent me.  I like stickers but I don't have a fancy workshop.
