  1. I don't think so. Blue usually blows when they can right up till the end. Typical for a lot of resorts to stop snowing at presidents weekend not Blue. Don't you get off at 5pm some days??
  2. Base on a WRX is just under $27,000 and comparing a used corvette to a new WRX is not apples to apples. WRXs are for younger people and corvettes are for old men going through a midlyfe crisis
  3. Cause WRX are sweet cars. And for the three times a year it snows Subies are awesome same with powder skis.
  4. Well thanks. Honda accords are nice looking cars and more expensive than imprezas. What American brands come with all wheel drive standard.
  5. It's just the basic factory tires. That's what I have on my Subaru. Most rental cars are under a year old so tires typically not an issue.
  6. Whenever I see this thread it makes me hungry for tacos.
  7. I already got like 1/4 of my work done for today and am bored so looked up rental car rates in Salt Lake City March 7-14 on Orbitz. $300ish for a midsize SUV for a week is a bargain. A lot more convenience having a rental car vs taking buses everyday to the resorts and can see more stuff. Do you drive an AWD vehicle here? I just like it better in snow for piece of mind. I have no idea how to use or handle chains.
  8. Yup I ate in there with Zaldon, Glenn, Atomic Jeff and Librider back in 2006. Was still expensive ski area food like $15 for a burger fries and drink. I remember the bar upstairs being pretty nice with a big deck. Belleayre always used to give out free lift tickets. I think if it rained they gave out a free ticket for another day and if you went opening day you received a free ticket for another day that season and the list went on and on and on. I think I only paid for a ticket there maybe 3 out of 8 times I skied there.
  9. Isn't the cafeteria in a windowless room in the basement.
  10. Have fun in New Mexico!!! When I see the Rocky Mountains after many months of seeing our hills I'm like this. Funny but true!!!
  11. Yeah but when the mountain was built they added that lower mountain area to boost their vert even though 95% of the people only ski the top 900-1100 very depending on the side of the mountain. I like Dot Nebel a lot. It's like their razors edge can fly on that and upper Oneteria is steep for 400 vert at the top and can Hollywood for the people on the lift. Same with the more mellow bump line under the high speed quad. I used to ski belleayre every season in mid April when everywhere else was closed. Also skied there in November. That's about as far as I'd go for a day trip and the lodging around there is the suck. I do like the town of Phoenicia..couple nice restaurants.
  12. Snowmakers are killing it...hats off to them. Maybe blow a little more on homestretch before the weekend just add to the base. Going into a warm stretch soon and as Toast has said many times it's all about the Base!!!!
  13. Those weekend days when you are first chair and no people your first few runs before the race team and tom dick and Harry's are out are just a great way to start the day and the grooming has gotten a lot better. I just like skiing fast when the runs aren't crowded. Wish blue was about 10 degrees steeper so I could really ski Mach looney. And Ski2Live despite some online arguments really just discussion I think you'll have a blast skiing with the PASRs.
  14. Ski2Live but isn't the bottom of Belleayre a runout?? They prob did that to boost their vert so they could have the third highest vert in the Catskills.
  15. In PA most schools are only off Friday and Monday. The entire week off is more of a NJ/NY and New England thing. I wanna see you get first chair some time. You're missing out.
  16. Hey All, I'm back from a fun evening session at Blue mountain the true mountain. Stopped at Arbys on the way up for beef and cheddar sang and brought atomic Jeff some curly fries. Rocked out to Soft Cell Tainted Love on the Drive up and some Eddie $$$$. Temperature was in the mid to upper 20s with moderate winds and the snow guns on the upper mountain were just starting to get lit up around 7pm. There were like 20 buses but liftlines weren't bad cause they were running the quad as well. Challenge was alright but nightmare to Dreamweaver was elite with fresh man made and not many people. Main Street was really good on top packed powder under the gun show and lower was ok not many piles but dark. Ran into Matt Edge and chilled with him in the upper lot for a few and there was a Muhlenberg college bus. Back on the snow and skied vista to chute to lower Main Street and caught up with atomic Jeff, Johnny Law and PARidge was also on the house. Did more Nightmare Dreamweaver and ended with two runs in Barneys bumps which were super forgiving with fresh blown man made Poe..mad Mad Edgar Allen..what what or que que for all you Spanish snow sports enthusiasts. At that point I had my Phil like Mickelson and went to the lot and had two hop ranches and left at exactly 10pm. Now rocking out to chumbawumba in my apartment complex parking lot. JADIP ski everybody this weekend. Weather looks great!!!!
