  1. Well a lot of lower class people from NJ and NYC moved into the poconos. The Tobyhanna area has gang related crime now.
  2. I haven't been up to hunter, windham and belleayre in several years. Are the Catskills still a super depressed area? The last time I was up there a lot of the former motels and restaurants were shut down...I feel like the Catskills were much more popular in the 90s. I know back then hunter used to do 500k skier visits per year amoung the leaders in the east and I don't think they do that much anymore.
  3. Looking at the long range there is a chance we could be skiing Xmas week at blue on one or two trails.
  4. QFT and lift tickets at WF are cheaper than in Vermont..
  5. Were you gonna come back to Boulder Saturday? Gonna rain 1-2" just today and more later in the week with warmth. I don't see how BB or even the Catskills will have skiing this weekend. Maybe Vermont will survive. Jackson hole just got 18" I always confuse that place with Jackson frost.
  6. The Catskill areas have longer runs than the poconos and receive more natural snow...not as good as Vermont but I believe you only skied southern Vermont which isn't nearly as good as northern Vermont. Anyway sounds like your wife is holding you back.
  7. Might as well go to Vermont it's only a few more hours and a lot better than hunter. Try out Stowe.
  8. Windham has more blues. Hunter has more blacks. Both are zoos on the weekend.
  9. I don't feel bad that I didn't go. Main Street lift at blue is my minimum
  10. With all the rain we get this week the snowmaking ponds should be full.
  11. Sorry don't know what I was saying but there was lazy then and didn't realize you've been skiing for so long.
  12. Razors switchback Nightmare to Dreamweaver The Chute Barneys Bumps
  13. You called that yesterday would be a shitshow and today mellower.
  14. What are your five favorite runs at Blue in order from 1 through 5. I actually have to think about my answers for a long minute. Widowmaker didn't make my top five but gets an honorable mention for the stashes of titty deep
  15. Was that on snowblades and the only reason I didn't ski Burma my first time out is cause I didn't have snowlerblades. When I saw that trail map I thought golly Burma is 4500 feet long...after easy and vista woo over a mile of excitement. Amazing that there's a run over a mile long on only 800 vertical feet☺️ Burma used to have a mini headwall midway down that they got rid of. For newish skiers and riders like their first 5 times out I think the middle section of lazy mile before the hard right then is tricky..we use it to get a few extra miles an hour before the turn and flat to falls and they hold on for their lyfe...and it starts off so mellow...the second left hander can be a serious bottleneck as well. Call me a purist I sometimes like to ski the whole mile.
  16. I skied Burma my second time skiing. Lazy the third time. There wasn't lazy mile back then and I didn't go down Main Street till my second season. Anyway I don't see never Evers spending $200 but I could be wrong. And the point is with this deal people can't do anything but easy out and vista their first three times or maybe the valley school at the base as well.
  17. What stinks about the beginner deal is by day two or for sure three skiers are gonna want to go on Burma and lazy mile and paradise and they can't with the limited lift ticket and also a lot of first time skier don't want to commit to three days.
  18. Fences, lift towers, howitzers, outhouses and trains in the backcountry.
