I would do Zermatt, they have 21km of on piste terrain for year round skiing. I don't know how much vacation time you get at your new job but a shame you can't start a week earlier in exchange for an extra week you can take mid winter.

No decent snowmaking temperatures this week at Abasin. ABasin doesn't have any lodging but you can stay in Dillon or Silverthorne for $70 a night. The run they'll have open is not as good as Main Street at blue. TP4 the white ribbon of death they'll have open won't be that bumped up due to lack of pitch prob just alot of push piles.

You realize if Abasin is even open later this month which is not a guarentee it's just gonna be one very easy run of less than 1k of vert???

Definitely go to Zermatt then...skiing will likely be mediocre but still skiing. I just wouldn't want to travel all the way to Europe for limited terrain. I figure prob $2500+ for a week for airfare, lodging and lift tickets.

A basin prob won't be open mid October. They haven't even began snowmaking and temperatures this week don't look favorable. I would wait till November or December.

Nothing is announced on their FB page but its hardly raining today.

Was looking at some stas and blue mountain has 164 acres of ski terrain and camelback has 160 acres. Makes sense as blue has less top to bottom routes but are longer and in some cases wider so camelbaxk is wider than blue pretty obvious when comparing maps. You know what resort is real wide, blue mountain Ontario

Wouldn't be a problem on skis but on a snowboard prob be tough.

Maybe a connector lift between the new pod and the valley lodge...maybe a gondola between the new pod and the valley and another gondola between the summit and valley lodge..they could put a hotel in where the PASRs park.
