Louisiana and Florida are on fire. Texas is next to be on fire although some of the border towns like El Paso that were ravaged by Covid before have super high vaccination rates and should come out of this wave decently. I’m seeing that this current wave is going to peak around mid September.

22,783 new cases in Florida and 199 new deaths.

From July 6th to today(August 6) the number of new daily Covid cases in PA went from 116 to 1691. That’s a 15 times increase..

Sorry I meant to say at Musikfest they’re requiring masks indoors..I think the only indoor thing is a comedy show at the ice house and maybe a couple of walk in attractions like trailers.

I doubt that..it’s outdoors. There’s no statewide mask mandate. It’s up to individual businesses. At Musikfest they’re requiring masks outdoors. I was at wegmans earlier and I bet 2/3 of the folks were wearing masks. They still have the old sign saying vaccinated folks don’t need a mask and also new sign saying masks are recommended. I asked an employee and yes employees have to wear them and optional for customers.

I know at Target and wegmans it’s recommended and not required. I feel for the fully vaccinated employees who could finally go maskless a month or two ago.

At Wawa..I’d say a solid 1/3 of people are wearing masks in there and all employees have to now.

If my freshman year of college was like that I probably would have never become a drunk and a pothead.

I gotcha, there’s even a thread on Teton gravity titled Covid and the college student. The kids that graduated from high school in 2020 I feel for..they missed proms, senior fun stuff, graduations, college orientations..normal college freshman year and now the next year is in jeopardy for all students.

I don’t think Covid will affect this skison except international travel and probably still have to wear masks on planes which is something I might just continue to do.

No it’s the issue of asymtopatic vaccinated people spreading it to unvaccinated people. Anyway here’s an interesting article and we aren’t all in this together. On my way to work today I saw somebody wearing a jacket and a knit hat..skison is getting closer.

Nope it will be a nail in the coffin for many more small businesses. My delivery driver is starting to talk about getting vaccinated. His wife’s friend just had a bachelorette party in Nashville and all ten of the girls got Covid...I don’t know their vaccination status. My customer today who’s fully vaxxed got Covid a few months ago she caught it from her unvaccinated son. Still 96% of those hospitalized with Covid are unvaccinated. It’s just that the Delta variant spreads so easily..I won’t be surprised if we are back to 200,000 daily cases for the US and maybe 3,000 cases daily for PA by late next week.

NYC is going to require proof of vaccination for indoor dining and fitness.

Home Depot is requiring masks again for all customers and employees in US stores.

I’m good at both...I think it’s because I skied a lot of bumps in my teens and 20s so even though I don’t ski a lot of bumps now, I can just instinctively ski them competently.

I just noticed the one in the picture. I’m so glad that no mask mandates are planned for PA, vaccinated folks shouldn’t be punished for the dumb.
