  1. Sure, but park / rail boards with dull edges aren't that fun to cruise on when it a bit icy.
  2. Unless they changed the park from last night, it is a pretty terrible setup. The jumps are just bad. And the feature selection is geared way to advanced for only having one park open. 1/2 the people I rode with yesterday spent most of the night in the bar because there wasn't anything they could hit. And they aren't bad park riders just not everyone wants to hit a line of nothing but kinked, down, urban rails. Really the only fun thing last night was the hip / wall ride...but only one side was groomed out for some reason. The two tank thing was ok, would have been much better as just a single tank or if both were straight. Overall it was a pretty disappointing night...except the girl playing guitar in the Grille was really hot.
  3. Meh, not really. Pretty normal spot for a method grab on an old school setup like that.
  4. Scariest for me was I launched a mid sized rock outcrop on Blackcomb with a very steep run in into a deep powder landing. Was trying to go back 3 but didn't quite make it all the way around. Landed sideways and just bomb holed. Next thing I know a ton of sluff is pour down over me and buried me completely. Just needed to stand up to get out of it but that scared the shit out of me.
  5. It isn't so much a crutch as its just different a different trick. Getting into and out of them are similar but tripods are all about extending your legs and getting onto the tip of the board while nose presses are about finding and holding your balance against the flex of the board. Personally I like nose presses better but both are a lot fun....especially at speed in powder.
  6. And look at how well all that practice translates into you being able to backseat down steep runs.
  7. Sure. It is all about board control. Start with tripods then move to nose butters and before long you are Nicolas Muller...
  8. They deserve to be ridiculed for their idiotic ticket pricing and options.
  9. Definitely. All of that translates to being an all around better rider everywhere on the mountain and makes riding more enjoyable then just bombing down the hill.
  10. I wonder if beer is part of that food voucher. Knowing Blue that will be a different kind of ticket...you'll need the 9.3 hour easy flex beer voucher online reload only ticket for that.
  11. Yup. Tripods and butters are excellent ways to work on board control as well.
  12. Tons of fun on Sunday. Soft, fast, hero snow with a really fun early season park setup. Loving that the C box is back out. Didn't get crowded until around 11:30 or so. Definitely need some cold weather though.
  13. Ski drunk, it makes you loose so you don't get hurt when you fall.
  14. Looks like a screen cap of a vid. Everyone I have talked that was there said it was all time for Dec. They didn't groom boulder park and there was 6-8in pretty much everywhere.
  15. I'd say Boulder pretty much shit all over everything with conditions yesterday...
  16. Opening tomorrow at 4pm. $25 lift tickets Friday night, Saturday night & Sunday night! $35 lift tickets for all day Saturday & Sunday! We will also have $25 lift tickets for Monday through Friday all day.
  17. But they have only been open, what, 10 days?
  18. Try some of the new Oakley Prism lenses. I demo'd the Rose tint on a grey bird / snow day and they were awesome.
  19. They might have been able to open Thanksgiving weekend for a day or two but then would still be closed now because of the warm and rain...and would be worse off from a snow standpoint. Weather looks decent later this week for some blowing so this weekend might be a possibility depending on how the next two days go.

    Opening dec. 4

    13 more than Blue.
  21. Yeah they had one back in 08 or 09. I couldn't make it up there but a few of my buddies went up and they said it was fun. A bit crowded when it first opened up but mellowed out and they didn't really have to wait much to hit stuff.
