1. The instagram account epicliftlines posts daily updates from around vails properties as well as employee complaints, etc.

Apparently vail forgot to sign off on employees pay slips, so their checks are late, but they are being hounded to pay their employee housing rent. So the person who so demanding money, forgot to pay them money.

The sad thing is this isn’t even the worst lift line they have posted. Not even close.

Tussey is pretty small.  Similar in layout to Sawmill.  Definitely a lot smaller operation than Shawnee.  Shawnee is decently large it's just that there are only like 3 trails that are  black steepness and they are short.   Otherwise similar vert to Camelback and Jack Frost, with q big lodge, powerful snowmaking, a lot of uphill capacity, and a detach.

Laurel Mountain is still owned by the state who could theoretically terminate the operating contract with Vail for someone else when it expires.  The state also owns currently inactive Denton Hill which is similar in size and steepness to Laurel but is even more in the middle or nowhere.

None or the areas close to the PA border in the surrounding states like Mountain Creek, Greek Peak, Wisp etc. are mega Corp owner yet

Also if someone with deep pockets really wanted in on the PA skiing game they could try to reopen Snow Peak https://www.dcski.com/lostareas/viewlostprofile.php?id=18

Snowpeak. That place would have been great. I wish someone with deep pockets would open one on tuscarora or wills mountain too. 1400-1700 vert. If i win it big, you guys have my word ill do that.

On the vail Monopoly board (because it what they practically are now) what would boardwalk and what would be park place...thinking Vail Resort would be boardwalk. Park City would be park place. I feel like the PA resorts would fall in the St. Charles Place section of the board (the purple properties).

The story of how they acquired park city is one of the craziest things I’ve ever heard, and somehow I heard it for the first time today.

4. I switched from xfinity to T-Mobile home internet.

I’m getting 7x the download speed, and at least 40x upload speeds compared to Comcast, and I’m paying 50 dollars a month, no data caps.

I would recommend getting a fan to put underneath your T-Mobile router, they get hot and they do, they can drop the secondary signal which causes decrease in speed.

I put a small computer Fan under it and it now runs cool and speeds stay constant.

5. Camelback is become like Action Park 2.0

And there was an action park south in south Jersey.

Camelback and blue under same management and blue is further south.

It’s a fitting comment.

6. as long as they dont touch the parking lot scene i couldn't care less.
... and, even though i doubt it, i'm quietly hoping the pass price increase has something to do with a blue/cmlbk combo ...

Camelback charges for parking. Hopefully not coming to blue.

7. While I won’t go to camelback just because I don’t like the place, it’s unfair to judge them based on this. If the investigation shows negligence then of course blast them.

8. People aren't going to stop buying epic passes. How many people here are buying one next year (in tandem with a blue pass)? If you're planning on skiing Vail owned resorts out west or whenever they've forced your hand unfortunately.

Most of my friends who were on peak passes, got epic’d this year, and will either be going with an Indy pass, blue or montage, or nothing.

The amount of people that don’t buy them again probably won’t hurt vail, but there is a ton of online buzz amongst skiers and riders that shows a movement toward ikon or independent areas. I know it’s anecdotal, but in the words of our supreme leader, it is what it is.

9. Holy shit I didn't see this, I loooove the knob and was actually talking about it with NM and Atomic tonight. Super cool tr from a serious underrated place.
How about stemboggen ? That shit cracks me up but the glades and extrovert and east wall glades are legit.
I used to go there alot when my cousin went to Penn St toon town and the logging roads up there are legit too.
Did they get a sign yet ? It's been awhile but last time I was there the access road had a piece of cardboard that just said ski with an arrow.
That road is sketchy af with weather and my cousin said he saw a car go off when he was in college.  Driving up it in snow makes blue Mt drive feel like pch. The last right I think it is and you can breath again.

They got a sign! Nothing fancy. Stembogen was closed for snowmaking (go figure) but everything else was open.

10. RidgeRacer Hungry Trout Resort is great!! Better than the Cobble Mountain (though I like that a lot too). I love the restaurant next door so I didnt even have to drive anywhere after post ski SUJOPO.

Hungry trout reminds me of being in a twin peaks episode.

Also the river view from the restaurant is awesome.

11. The Shaefers have made many improvements since buying Catamount. I think with continual improvements it will be pretty good in a few years. You might want to try it again when all the trails are open. Have you tried Berkshire East? I'd rather ski there than Mount Snow on a holiday weekend when I'm in the area.

The drive time to Berkshire east is much further so at that point gore or Vermont is a better option. It looks like a fun place but hard to justify. Catamount was similar to the Catskills so the drive was easier.

12. I got curious so started searching for YouTube videos shot at eagle rock this year and found this one.

Looks like the chairs are off the beginner lift and they have a on snow shuttle instead. At least that’s what I got out of this.

13. Feels like I'm at the grocery store or something.

I agree. I guess it’s because all the mountains I went to growing up had dirt lots and it felt like being in the mountains to me.

I was shocked during my southern pa tour last year to find that Liberty has paved lot with grass islands and light poles. Immediate buzzkill. Felt like going to the mall.
