Well first there were these Aussie chicks at the GLC and the week went into the gutter real quick. Anyways, I made my first trip to Whistler last week and the condtions were perfect. Fortunate to be there with some folks who knew their way around. Seemed like it was more mid winter rather then early April. It was a really fun week on and off slopes. Definitely will be back again. Enough talk, here are a few photos .....

trying to save a landing from a little jump (fail).

Top of Horstam Glacier. When we saw it that pitch needed more tracks on it so we took a little hike to go get the goods.

Ah Wednesday saw snow all throughout the day. These pictures I believe are on the way down Bagel Bowl on Whistler Mountain

Friday TGIF perfect bluebird day. Decent snowfall overnight and it cleared out nicely for the morning. These are on Blackcomb. The upper lifts were on hold for avy control and we headed out first thing and got in line early for Seventh Heaven. Once we got up top we took a hike to go get some freshies. A little out of bounds here as I recall but definitely the highlight of the trip.

Soon to be new avatar picture.

1/2 way down, double thumbs up for sure. Stopped because I had to take the camera and do some photos of the others.

After that we made our way to Blackcomb Glacier hiked up for some tracked out turns but still excellent none the less

I took a few from Nintendo for those who want to see the jump lines. I will try and get those up later.

battery recharged.

A few from Nintendo. As I recall there were a few rails up top followed by a 5 booter jump line to skier's right of the lift and then 3 (maybe 4) bigger booters to skier's left of the lift. From top to bottom ...

Simply awesome TR..my Montana buddy wants to hit Whistler next season and if I visit I'll have the fraggle rock theme song on my I-Pizzle for the Fraggle Rock Trees..

I'm def scheming on going there as well, but isn't next year the olympics? That pry means 4 billion people, might want to wait a year.

Before and after the games I think I would be ok with. Whistler is a good 2 hour drive from Vancouver where all the non-alpine events will be held. The jist I got from some locals is that yeah they expect the village area to be jammed packed those 2 weeks, but that not all of those folks are going to be in liftlines. The trailmap I had WB made a good effort to point out that only a small fraction of terrain would be affected by events.

I think the mt could pry handle the traffic just fine, maybe not my wallet though. I'm pretty sure during those 2 weeks, lodging prices are going to be jacked up everywhere. Like you said though, before and after might not be too bad.

dope tr. puts my recent ones to shame.

sucks we didnt go this year. good for you though, lookes like you got some decent shit.

Yeah I think we got really lucky with the late season storms. The day I left the high temp was supposed to be like 60 down at the village so the pattern changed. I would love to take a day next trip (oh there will be another trip some day) to do some snowcat access terrain. Maybe even a heli. The others peaks in the area looked amazing.

Just a few more terrain pictures.

A few pictures down Whistler Bowl, into Doom and Gloom, and then Frog Hollow which comes out at a cat track and takes you to Big Red lift. Nice sustained pitch the whole way down that area (and super conditions)

I wasnt much for getting air this trip. So no pictures in that regards, sorry. PASR Barb was witness to me taking a pretty hard crash (and stupid crash, should not have happened) at the bottom of JF near the East Mtn. lift about a month ago and it was still sore on the trip.
