Dan- Posted October 12, 2009 Report Share Posted October 12, 2009 Your best options are in VT, or NH. Tuckermans is nice, you just have to hike. That will probably be one of the best comparisons. Other then that, there is Stowe and Jay, which I'd say are the best in the east as far as terrain and snow. Lift serviced terrain rivaling mountains out west can be had at Whiteface, Stowe, and Jay Peak. Of course everything's going to be a little smaller and has a tighter feel than western terrain. It might not have the size of some of Stowe, Jay's etc, but it definitely has a good amount of difficulty, a big mountain experience, and the feeling of a ski town like you might get in Steamboat, J.
