ColoradoHigh
I am going to Jay Peak and missing three half days of school. I am leaving on December 19th, and getting back Christmas evening. We are staying in our own lodge/mountain home with 50 people in it, and all of those 50 people are our friends! . We will have gormet food, including dinner and breckfast! . It should be REALLY FUN! If anyone went there and know all the slopes, please tell me which slope is the best. I am so excited!!!! ColoradoHigh
Have fun. All of the good trails are probably, well all of them Thanks. I will For expert skiers...Face Chutes, Valhalla, UN, KItzbuhl, Staircase, everglade, and Green Beret are all nice. For Intermediates...Haynes is nice, Ullrs dream is nice, Beaver Pond glades, Stateside glades, and Haynes are nice. Jay Peak is cool and you'll have a good chance of fresh powder when you go... I will check those out. There better be powder, cause if there isn't someones face is getting punched in!
ColoradoHigh
I am getting really, really nervous about Jay Peak and the lack of trails they have open. They only have 8 trails open, and I leave next Tuesday. I doubt they will have more than 15 trails open . I rather not go, because Blue might have more trails open by then. How far is Killington from Jay Peak?

How far is Killington from Jay Peak? I know I quoted myself, but I am really pissed that my first time to Vermont, they will have less than 20 trails open. If they only have that many trails open, then count me out.
ColoradoHigh
But right now they have ONLY 8 effin' trails open. I AM NOT GOING TO VERMONT for the first time FOR 8 TRAILS!
skifreak
Why would you not go to Vermont? Who cares if they only have that many trails open? They are probably better and longer than any trails in PA!

ColoradoHigh
I still am frustrated though. Jay Peak is MUCH farther North then Killy, and why doesn't Jay have 40 or more trails open?
rgrwilco
damn beat me too it. must of been by a second or so Edited December 14, 2006 by evo55
ColoradoHigh
What ever, I will check the site on Monday to make my decision. But if I don't go, I won't be able to ski period so, skiing on 8 Vermonty trails is better than no skiing at all.
skifreak
I still am frustrated though. Jay Peak is MUCH farther North then Killy, and why doesn't Jay have 40 or more trails open? Its because they rely on natural snow and not snowmaking This year however there seems to be a drought of snow.
Dan-
You sound like someone who only skis out west.. The snow sucks, not enough trails are open, to much ice... Blah blah.. Get over it and go ski.
