Parental Ski Porn

Ski

Recommended Posts

I remember the first time I was allowed to ride the lift alone...it was as good as when I got my learners permit...the whole mountain suddenly opened up to me and I didn't have to rely on my parent's friends or their kids. Even though I grew up at CB, my first ride up alone was at Vernon Valley/Great Gorge. Despite today's rain and melting snow, we had one cool mother of a day...and thanks again to the Sno lifties that went above and beyond, especially since I was giving a lesson and couldn't keep an eye on her...

Tsk tsk tsk <_< Why isn't the safety bar down. Idk, but that doesn't seem like good smart style to me...

She can push the bar up, but she can't pull it down, even over at the side. Just no leverage. Where most 6 yr old's weigh 55 to 65 lbs., she's in the ultra-lightweight division of 40 lbs (and that's after a Happy Meal).

I just don't seem to grow them very big.

what the fuck is a webkinz?

pretty soon Ty will be beating you down the hill Ski!

but the thread title was a little misleading...

Webkinz are stuffed animals that come with a tag that has a code number. You log onto webkinz.com and enter your new pet's code and it becomes your virtual pet. You can play games to raise money to buy it a bunch of shit like a bed, furniture, and clothes. She might have mentioned she bought her polar bear a trampoline, or something like that.

Anyway, it's a fairly sophisticated way to keep your child from reading and being otherwise productive.

Her mom plays Spiro by the hour and I'm on this f*cking MB all the time, so, well, you see where that arguement would go...

Her older sister is a far better skier than me, so I've already been through that. But I try to keep learning and plan to hold her off for a few more years.

As to Parental Ski Porn: when you have a little TP4 to take snowboarding one day, you'll get the title a little better. Like when my dog stopped crapping in the kitchen, you start marveling at things you used to take for granted---eh, like not having dog crap on the kitchen floor. Or a kid that boots up on their own. Or does his first butter box.

Whenever i'm working the bottom of a lift (mainly shuttle) i'll always keep an eye on the little ones that get on the lift alone until they get to the first tower. If i see them trying to get the bar down but aren't successful i just remember to follow the lift a little ways and lower the bar for them. Especially on days after they blew snow on highball..the chairs can get kind of sketchy with little kids. But her accomplishments are coming in leaps and bounds Ski. Next year she'll be tearing up northface all day everyday :wiggle

ski tell me if you are ever at bb. I have a 6 year old who bombs it down the trail. They would get along great. The last time we were there he kept charging up the outer wall of the halfpipe. Then he told me to try (it looked easy enough). I fell right on my back. Even the liftie made fun of me, he said "I see your mom rolled her way down the hill"

I have a 7 and 5 year old that we've been taking to Sno this year for lessons and skiing. (Yes, we have a problem with Webkinz too....)

As a parent, thanks! Your helpful attitude above is what makes the noticable difference between going to Sno and elsewhere.

We're bringing as many of our friends back to Sno as possible next year. You guys deserve the business, even though it means more crowds.

Ty is becoming a skiing rockstar/legend of the next decade....

Actually, I'm hoping more for a humble and quiet PA Cup Champion. And she'll hopefully keep her grades up and get a scholarship to a good Ivy League school where she'll invite her 20 yr old hot roommates back here on break for long hot tubs...

Plans are all set.
