    Sn

Been there for 20 years. They used to (don't think they do anymore) host a PGA tour event once a year.
  2. I was leaving around 6, before that conditions up top was spring snow with good coverage. Still enough snow in the "glades" to mess around in. North face was sugar with some ice patches due to being in the shade. Lower Fast Track stayed in the sun for a while so did some playing on that instead of Cannonball or Boomer. 3 hours, 6,000 vert, only 8 runs = still fun day
  3. "National Penn had extended two mortgages totaling $8.9 million to Snö Mountain's ownership group and could have exercised "credit bids" without committing any money up to that amount. It is Snö Mountain's largest creditor"
  4. The only reason the banks bid was so close was because there was only two bidders and the bank is already out millions. They were going to keep bidding the price up for "free"basically, to get their money back all the way up to $8.9 million. They simply just outbid the partners by a million because they were then waiting for the partners to go 1 million higher, then they would bid up again. It's not like the partners needed only $1 mill to buy the place...more like $4 million. I'm sure if the partners or Camelback were willing to spend 7.5-8 million there may have been a small chance the bank would have taken a little hit to get most of it's money back, but they weren't going to take a $4 million + hit.
  5. Long Haul is indeed higher, but for that run I went back to the quad. It also looks like I started at the top of the quad for the cannonball run also, so there is a 56 foot discrepancy between the two runs with the same start and finish point. Seeing as how the app automatically tracks the differences between your runs and your lift rides, I could see some error maybe happening there. A couple feet extra added to the lift ride when you are actually on the snow and the same when getting on the lift maybe...but the vert is still going up and down so who knows. It's close enough to keep a general idea of your day, not exact enough to be science apparently.
  6. "Ski Tracks". I think Schif said it's like $1.29 or something like that for Android. It's a cool app, it automatically lays all your runs and lift rides out on a map (which can be satellite image), inserts an icon on the map at the exact spot you took the picture, tracks vert and top speed amongst other things. You can see how it adds the lift rides in, which like I said, the app does itself. There is a margin of error in the vert statistics, looking back at my last day riding the average vert for the quad was 570 feet. The tracking of your path is scary accurate though, you can usually tell what side of the trail you went down and everything. I may have done the Cannonball run from mid-mountain (starting at the base of the bunny hill) rather than the top of the lift, I don't remember.
  7. Lightning was definitely sweet yesterday
  8. I'm on iron horse ill wait up top if you want to meet up and do a fast track cruiser
  9. You wearing a helmet? Probably was you behind me on the lift when he was setting up, I think I made it off just in time to miss him.
  10. Indeed, Boomer is the tits, lapping Northface right now.
  11. Somebody buy these damn things before I end up using them for work and destroying them
  12. Remember kids, Christmas is coming..haha.
  13. Trying to offload a brand new (box opened once) pair of 2012 Smith IO/S white/black fallen goggles. I'll dig them out and post up a pic or two tomorrow. They are a smaller design goggle, but I'm an average sized guy and I enjoy them. They fit well with a Bern Baker. I ended up buying a different color and procrastinated on sending these ones back so I'm stuck trying to sell them now. The lenses are extremely easy to switch out. Quick Release Lens System Spherical, Carbonic-X Lens with TLT Optics Patented Vaporator Lens Technology with Porex Filter Includes Two Performance Mirror Lenses Ultra-Wide, Silicone Backed Strap QuickFit Strap Adjustment System with Clip Buckle Dual Layer, DriWix Face Foam Helmet Compatible Includes Microfiber Goggle Bag with Replacement Lens Sleeve Sorry for the link but I can't figure out posting pictures here from the iPad ( IMG tags don't work anymore..?) What they looked like: www.bentgate.com/enlarge.html?http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/bentgatemountaineering_2240_828054619 I think I paid $150 for them...maybe $100 shipped is fair? Looking for cash (paypal) no trades.
  14. For once, what he is speaking has plenty of validity. Go take a ride up to Camelback on a busy (read: any) weekend and have a stroll through the parking lot. Take note of all the New York and New Jersey plates, you won't be able to miss them. Most people aren't going to bypass these other resorts, especially when they have high speed lifts, to drive the extra distance to get to Sno. Sure we all love not having to wait in lift lines at Sno and having the powder last longer, but the place NEEDS skier visits. You can't possibly sit there, when the mountain is in bankruptcy, and say that the mountain doesn't have a problem getting skiers. Blame it on Dennis, or whoever else you want, but don't deny that the mountain could use some more customers with money in hand.
  15. Here now and having a gOod time, weather is awesome.
  16. Shitty picture but you get the idea:
  17. We are going to be hitting up Stowe at the end of March or first weekend, April 6-8th. We went up last year on 8-10th and on the 11th they shut down the gondola and the high speed up to Spruce Peak was closed the whole weekend too( coverage was fine). I'd like to hold out for the 6th but don't want to run into closed lifts/ bad weather and then not get the chance to get up there. Closing day is the 15th. Will probably plan on last weekend of March and then postpone if the weather is anything but perfect. We got spoiled last year with 55+ degrees both days and not a cloud in the sky. Can't beat riding and then hitting up the swimming pool.
  18. Went up today for some fun in the sun. Arrived at about 1:30 and took first run down Cannonball. Bottom of the quad someone could be seen building up the bumps on Lightning with a shovel...sweet. Used this app for the first time today and it was awesome, couple screen shots but no pictures sorry. Here's the overall day: Overall tracks on satellite view: Some speed and vert stats: And my trip to the ski check and bar after the runs and I forgot to turn off the app: Fun day, might head up tomorrow for a couple runs depending on the weather.
  19. Long Haul is turning..on it right now.
  20. It gets incredibly rocky at the bottom off of lower Fast Track though...it'd be a lot of work cleaning that out. There's a huge boulder like 20 feet tall that would be sweet to have right in the middle of a trail.
