Here is another quote from their website. "Ski Denton is located in the heart of Northern Pennsylvania's heavy snow country..."
-
They may say it, but I don't believe it. TR is 45-50 degrees. Skidude and I made it about 2/3 up, between 40 and 45 degrees. At that point, it looks about 89 degrees - straight down. And, it feels like a cliff. No way it could be groomed, maintained, etc. And, if you fall, you are like a rag doll to the bottom.
-
Are you kidding? They could subpoena you on a great snow day.
-
66 must be the grade, not the slope. There is no 66 degree slope, at least around here.
-
Great idea. It hadn't even occurred to me...
-
Surprised you went to CB - I thought you swore off it. Did you blow the Dave's a kiss?
-
Given the brisk winds and the huge icicles hanging from the sulli, it wasn't unreasonable to keep it closed. But, there was no reason to close the low lying lifts to the top.
-
They said everything was open, just "on hold" due to winds. Nice. I rode up with someone who paid full price because "33 trails were open". He was ripping. The forecast was very clear that the winds were going to increase throughout the day, so it's hard to see how CB could have thought they were going to get everything open. It was windy, but the lifts in the trees were fine - it would have been a snap to get Bailey and the other slower lifts.

I think it's 35 racers. Anyway, ASRA never cancels - but, somethimes the mountains do. Maybe Atomic can take his jet to Sugarbush this weekend.
-
There's Sugarbush next week, and Windham/Hunter the following week. BTW, Atomic, just for the record, Blue canceled, not ASRA.
-
I don't see your name on USSA, ASRA or NASTAR.
-
No one knows if it was left ungroomed, becasue despite their conditions page and their 1-800 number saying the mountain had 33 trails open and 12 lifts, NOTHING ABOVE MIDWAY WAS OPEN ALL DAY.

There's a new ripper in town. Who? I'll leave it to your imagination...
-
Ahhh, it was just as good as it looked.
-
Glad to hear you are ok, Skigurl. Maybe we'll see you out there next weekend...

She may have a hairline fracture of the tibia - they are unsure. I'm assuming it's a plateau (knee) fracture, which is the skier's fracture. If you have to have a fracture, this is the one you want - it usually does not require a cast and heals completely. Anyway, she's feeling well enough to saty at the race and cheer her teammates today. Skidude still doesn't know his place because there was a protest. A CB skier was on 140's. He makes racechick look like a giant... too bad for him. Enough of try to communicate with this cra@@y computer. I'm off to ski...

...said the three degree side guy. Actually, I'm developing a strong liking for the third degree...

Skidude wanted to finish in the top 30, so top 30 is good They didn't post the times after the second run. Gus probably has them, so he may find out during dinner. He will not call back unless he was in the top 30th. I will try the Gurl family again later. Dubious internet connection, I'll keep you updated if I can reconnect. BTW, awesome powder today, eh?
-
Ouch. Racechick hooked a tip during her first run. Someone thought her injury might not be so bad, but no one has heard. I tried to call the Gurl family but their line has been busy. RACE CHICK, WE NEED AN UPDATE. Skidude was 30th at the end of his first run, but doesn't know the results of his second run. Never ending suspense.

GO SKI DUDE There, feel better?
-
It should be fine, Racechick. The women go first, so the course will be perfect around the time of your run. Plus, this weeks snow will create a nice surface. And last, you know we are cheering for you. GO RACE CHICK
