That's more of a dream for us at this point. The need to efficiently earn $ and the Mumlet's education still has priority. Unless we win the lottery, finding Icemen a job out there would be major.
-
No doubt CB would be improved if they were less rigid, but, I love their high speed quads. More importantly, we have friends at CB. We have no (adult) friends at Blue. If we changed mountains it would likely be for a better race program for Skidude. Thus far, he seems satisfied at CB. I prefer to avoid crowds and Iceman likes Elk - if Elk had a high-speed quad, we'd move there in a heartbeat.
-
We are part of the daily crowd. However, at this time of our lives, we are unable to access the mountain on most weekdays.

In Phili, we have a few flakes drifting gracefully from the sky.....
-
Actually, I think he's having fantasies about Bear Creek.
-
Blue was never on my ASRA agenda. I'll be there for a couple of Skidude's races, and that's about my yearly fill of Blue. There will be plenty of other races...
-
Low likelihood that I'll be there that day. But, good luck. Being on your home mountain will help.

Coming home from Alta to ski at Blue? I hope you are not serious.

MidJanuary and Skidude and I aren't even on the NASTAR scoreboard yet... Who would have ever thought it possible... Rumor is circulating that Bear Creek is starting NASTAR tonight. Unfortunately, I have a hot date with a chestnut quarter horse that I can't break.

It still feels like high 40's in downtown Phili. Glad there is snow up north. Pyro, how close do you live to CB?

'999 always sees the bright side...

Elk has the nicest fall line in the Poconos, and it's almost never crowded. It's Iceman's favorite place to ski - Ever ride in a Cattle car?
-
Can't you just tell us a little white lie?
-
More Ice? I was hoping this update was to tell us about the additional inches of snow. It's been all rain down here - stopped just long enough to exercise a couple of the horses. Now it's pouring again.
-
I bet that Honda Civic is itching to take you to CB for a few runs while the powder lasts.
-
How about giving us the cold at night, so we can make snow. You can have it back during the day...

She was making turns like a pro.

Elk also had a free demo day last spring - It was part of a consumer promotion day and lift tickets were also discounted. The problem with Mtn demo days is that they have limited sizes and types, and they only want you to try them for a couple runs -
-
Think: Camelback and the Loft have some nicer demo skis - they work together so you can demo from both or either. It's $35/day, but you can demo two pairs if you want. And, they sell the demos at the end of the season, so you could probably work out a deal. I did it once last year and they only charged half price. I demoed their atomic SL skis and their C9's. They have other atomics - sx9 and 10, several K2 skis and some others. I was thinking about trying the C9's and sx's again this season if they ever get NASTAR going.

We wanted to win racing wax. But, between the three of us, it hasn't happened yet. lol, '999 wanted to win a giant, torpedo-shaped object of questionable function. But, that didn't happen either.

'999 ripped at Tanglwood Saturday, earning himself a single-digit handicap that made everyone including Skidude raise an eyebrow. 'dude could not let it stand, and came on strong Sunday to do the same. Awesome work, guys.

An Olympic champion started out at Brantling - and in keeping with it's historical race tradition, Brantling has a great SL program. They hold SL races that a lot of top racers participate in, so the points are always good. It takes a lot for me NOT to ski, and this was the only day I decided not to - The entire hill was taken up by the race, and I couldn't find room to take runs. So the dude had to pick up his own jacket and I amused myself by taking photos.
