  1. tristan from okemo marketing made it. its basically like a kt promo vid; he's all over that thing. but tristan filmed with us for 2 days straight up there over spring break, and rubino from nestors is in there too.
  2. http://www.tallak.no/bilder/041229-4FRNT-m...ele-700x221.jpg those are not mine, but that is what the ski looks like. i need an offer by around 5 tomorrow (friday) if you want them.

    INvanders?

yeah he's been on next year's TMs for like half of the season. they ski exactly the same as the old ones, i didnt notice any difference. his are the 175, so they are a little short for me, especially since they are center mounted. personally, if you want a center mounted ski, i like the invaders better, because they actually ski how they are supposed to. the TMs felt sort of weird to me being centered, but he really likes them, and the edge repair has held up fine so far. he busted them on a rock, so the edge issues from rail damage seem to be over with the reinforced edge they use now.
  4. check ebay. i picked up some a frames with HI blue lenses earlier this year for like $45 new. also, the wisdoms and a frames fit entirely different, you might want to make sure which one fits before you buy...
  5. actually i just got the opportunity to get a new pair of the 03/04 models (the ones i have) that i can let go for like 250, or 325 with bindings on them if you wanted the bindings too. if you have a 27.5 or 28.5 boot i'll mount them up for you no charge, you'd just have to run a binding check on them. get back to me ASAP because i need to finalize everything tomorrow. 6. "park rats" dont spend $150+ a night on slopeside lodging like families and gapers do. that alone is enough reason for bear to not become a park only mountain. it just doesnt make sound business sense. also, a few of the trails at bear are really too narrow or steep to be used as terrain park areas, mostly the stuff under the triple chair.

    INvanders?

i rode invaders all year. yes, the tips split apart, as did pretty much everyone else's this year. instead of crying about it, i just glued them back together and threw some duct tape on them, and they held out for the rest of the season just fine. if line has the tip issue fixed for next year, durability will be well above anything i've seen from armada. i've seen armadas snap, bases crack, and edges rip out the entire length of the ski. other than the tips, my invaders held up great. after a season of hard abuse, i only had one cracked edge, and they are still as poppy as the day i got them. since the tips didnt really factor into anything after i fixed them, my biggest gripe about the skis is that i needed to wax them a lot, like every 2-3 days on the hill. it seemed like the bases dried out really quickly. as far as skiability goes, you're not going to find a ski better suited to park riding. i've skied ar5's (not the t-halls, but they are the same sidecut), fujatives, TM's, and pretty much every other park ski on the market right now, and the invaders are my favorite, with salomon thrusters or TMs tied at second. if you go with the invaders, go a size bigger than you normally would. i got the 178 and they felt a little on the short side since they are mounted dead center. also, why spend 500 some dollars on the t halls when they will get trashed in one season anyway? you can pick up invaders or silencers next year for under 300 and have a much more durable ski.
  8. i was interested in them, but got invaders instead. i skied them in a size too short for me so i didnt really get a fair trial on them. how do you like them?
  9. i am thinking of getting rid of my MSPs and was just wondering if there was any interest here before i go an put them up on ebay. 180cm, 92mm waist, 25m turning radius, sidewall ski. they have great edge hold for how wide they are, and are still skiable on groomers, but they really shine in crud, spring snow, and fresh. let me know if interested.
  10. kevin took my camera or i'd have some pics online. someone toast pulled a gnarly swedish donut between a bunch of small trees and didnt die. anyone else would have ended up in the hospital, but his lucky ass escaped unharmed.
  11. i dont understand people's obsessions with super wide boxes. making a box wider only helps to a point. the ones bear has are about a foot wide if i'm correct. making a box any wider doesnt really make it easier to balance or anything, and the have the super wide 420 box to press and whatnot. screw boxes, make some rails that are actually worth something besides the downkink and the flat rail.

    06-07 plans

the only good thing about surfing in palmerton would be that i dont have to drive two hours to get to the beach. i'd have to pass on that though, as i dont really want to develop anemia from all the zinc that would be in the water.
  13. foils would work out pretty well for his size. he's not super heavy, so a lighter ski like the foil can work well for him. its also an easier ski to ski since he isnt an advanced skier yet, but he will still be able to use it once his abilities improve. at his height and weight, he could go either for the 174 or 182. height wise, i would go 182, but weight and ability make me lean more towards the 174.
  14. jared's solid, but i'm sure there lots of kids better than him, and also better than the elk kids too. cab 270 switchup 270 off is nothing anymore, sorry, and most anyone who can set a decent spin can 450 onto a box. you really are ignorant. its honestly just stupid to take how you look in your "bangin ass hat" as being more important than keeping your brains inside your skull where they belong. for your own sake, i hope you dont take any hard falls.
  15. whoever doesnt want to wear a helmet, i'll just flat out say it. its dumb to not wear a helmet when you are riding, especially if you are going to be tossing yourself at obscure metal objects. and about waxing, i would just use a general warm temp wax and wax like normal if you really feel the need to wax at all. the snow thats left at boulder is probably really fast because it will all be that icy granular crap, but some warm wax incase it does get a little soft wouldnt hurt. the reason the glow wax says not to scrape is so the excess wax wears off as you ride, leaving a glowing trail.
  16. if he's never skied before, the prophet 80 is going to seem super touchy to him. as far as freeride skis go, its pretty stiff over, and therefore more critical of the skier than a lot of other skis, but if you know how to use that to your advantage, its a solid ski. since you guys have real snow and dont need something rock solid torsionally like we do here, the foils, the 05-06 or newer rossi scratch fs, 05-06 or newer k2 PE, head mojo 90, or an old pair of line motherships would work out well. how tall and how much does he weigh? i can give you some more specifics if i know a little more.
  17. too bad it was like 10 feet long and set up terribly every time i was there.
  18. i almost wish i could be there for the comp. if its set up right, that rail has the potential for some pretty serious switchups. its all about spinning both ways. oh well, i'll be on my way to whistler.
  19. that setup is pretty much perfect for a rail jam, as was evident by the amounts of rediculous stuff thrown at the oakley jam. what exactly do you plan on doing an invert on, anyway? even if they do have a big gap onto any of those rails, it wont be big enough to get a smooth looking backflip onto any of them. at the oakley jam, snowboarders were having trouble getting 450s around onto the center rail, which had the biggest lip, i kinda doubt a backflip, frontflip, etc on is going to happen, sorry. not that my opinion matters, as i wont be there, but i think tech and ability should take it, not balls.
  20. the carpet is called sandfill. i guess its designed for people with shore houses, they lay it down in their lawn and put a thin layer of sand on it, and the sand fills in between the fibers and makes the fibers stand up so it looks more like real grass than astroturf does. its the longer fibers that make it slide more like snow than regular turf does. if you cant afford the sandfill stuff, regular turf will work, but you have to make sure its nice and wet, or there's plenty of wax on your skis.
  21. yeah i'll actually be skiing in whistler, so... i guess its ok that i miss boulder.
  22. yup i will be out of the country on that day. oh well.
  23. agreed. i'll be away the second week of may, although i guess most people would take whistler over a big boulder rail jam anyway. sorry, i had to be a dick and brag about it, i'm excited.
  24. well, if you're decent with glassing (like fiberglassing surfboards, skateboards, etc.) then you could try to build up the topsheet with some fiberglass sheeting and resin. otherwise, i would just seal it off with epoxy, duct tape it if you have to, and ride it til it completely breaks. its definately not gonna be good as new, but it should still be rideable and would probably be a good jib board.
