  1. It was a long ride up 7 hours from house with 2 stops for food and gas. I've never seen it so green up here, there was no snow to be seen anywhere except a few ice chunks that fell off rocks on the side of the road. 100" less snowfall than average this season and it's been almost as warm up here as it's been back at home in the Poconos it's been a weak winter for northern Vermont. I arrived in Stowe around 7 yesterday and checked into the Stowe Motel, they upgraded me to an efficiency with a little kitchen and pantry set for stoke! Picked up some brews and stopped by Town & Country to discuss smart style with GSS. I got up at 7:30 this morning, it was raining when I went out to pick up some breakfast and a hat I later realized I didn't need to buy since there were 2 hidden behind the seat in my truck I decided to wait out the rain a bit before heading up to the mountain and finally drove up at 10 when the rain started letting up, there were maybe 5 cars in the parking lot including Doug's subie. Fortunately my friend gave me a 50% off voucher the night before that came in handy when I found out they were charging the full $57 spring rate today. I've never seen Stowe so bare as it is now but there were still plenty of fun to be had on selective areas of the mountain. There were a few nice groomer runs open that were pretty smooth spring corn snow throughout the day that stayed nice since there was no traffic. I didn't take any shots of the well covered groomers. Woods off of Nose Dive Lower Nosedive had quite a few bare spots. Towards the very bottom there were some patches 6" thin to ride across unless you just took the grass route. Some soft bumps on Standard to Gulch, plenty of snow. The lower woods were to thin to ride but a nice place for a beer. All in all it was a great day and I would have been satisfied even if I paid full price. The nosedive woods were the run of the day! Hitting Jay Peak tomorrow and I got the hook ups with another 50% coupon to hit Stowe again Sunday then possibly Jay Monday. JADIP!!
  2. Ya there was so much snow last weekend on what was opened with a good turnout Stay open!!!!
  3. Thanks! Ya BB is a much smaller mountain and their snow making system is PRIMO. Automated polecats line most of their trails and those suckers can really pump it out.
  4. It is a beater board but actually it barely got scratched from the grass and rocks, they're so light they'll buff right out.
  5. I have to say that the lift we rode today is just as good as a high speed quad. The jump line is so entertaining to watch your at the top and forgot you were even on a lift. Thanks again for the ticket Phillycore and it was nice riding with some PASRs again even though only for a short while. You should have came today and had a spray contest!!
  6. Oh your right, then I meant to say I was lapping Draufganger, I didn't want to walk over to Mittl Weg Indeed, I'm pretty confident they will be able to do a lift serviced May Day. With the amount of snow on Boulder Park trail I'd imagine if they pushed those jumps it could still be fully covered in May.
  7. So I started off a little later than expected today and arrived at Big Boulder at 11:15, gave Phillycore a ring and met him, JFSkiDan, and PA Ridge Racer. The snow coverage was amazing, way better than I expected! We ended getting split up each run but kept bumping into each other at the top or bottom of the lift. I think Dan and Ride Racer took off shortly afterwords so I took a couple runs with Phillycore & then I think he ended up taking off. I seen Toast in the distance lapping Boulder Park and I believe KT KILLING it on the big booters. I didn't stay much longer only until about 1 and left. It was pretty crowded and there were only a few jibs I felt like playing on so I mostly lapped Mittl Weg. Props to Big Boulder for staying open top to bottom, if I wasn't going to be in Stowe next weekend if they opened I surely would return. Mittl Weg/Bunny Schuss interestion Boulder Park As I was coming down I-80 I seen Camelback in the distance and thought what the hell I have a pass and it's on my way home I might as well stop by. I pulled into Camelback and their were less than half the amount of people that were at Big Boulder. Coverage was really thin, they lost a ton of snow since last weekend and the park setup was pretty lame. They were doing a corrugated distance jib contest for anyone who wanted to hit it and if you cleared it I believe they were giving away a longboard. I took a couple runs through the park and didn't feel satisfied with my day yet so I decided to hike it up to the top and see what I could find. It took me quite awhile as I'm not in the greatest of shape and took a few breaks along the way. I headed left of the Glenn chair towards Near East up through a secret woods run and onto Julius Caesar up through the woods onto Little Caesar and onto the top of the Stevenson. I found about $3 in coins along my way! Beautiful view riding up the Glenn Lift Julius Caesar Julius Caesar I see an opening! Made it! Little Caesar Visiting Steve Cliffhanger lookin super thin from the top Nile mile, my chosen run. Who said you can't ride on grass? The End. Anyway you slice it or dice it today was JADIP
  8. I figure out who ski911 is but I will keep it a secret even though you didn't accept my facebook friend request
  9. Because you went in the morning. All the jib honks and park rats are in school they come out in the evenings. Your more than welcome to use the terrain in the park just don't do stupid things like try to get air off of the lips of rails but avoiding the rail itself just go around.
  10. You had me on the double barrel roll, I had to watch it twice. The terrain looks amazing out there.
  11. I'm a whiskeymilitia brociety kinda winter gear shopper
  12. Yes indeed, just from my pics of a couple days earlier the coverage looked far worse. They did an amazing job getting things ready for Saturday with what they had.
  13. NY Tax dollars being put to good use. It's still state owned right?
  14. The Camel looked nothing like that today. There was sugar bumps and ice patches on every trail, it was either a lot busier this morning than yesterday or they didn't groom last night.
  15. $250 for snow pants! you crazy homie
  16. I rock a couple slightly used boards I get off ebay that people let collect dust in their garage after trying the sport and quitting, beat the shit out of them and sell/buy a different one or two every season or two. I used to buy new decks but nothing got me more annoyed then buying a new deck full price and taking a core shot early in it's life That is quite the impressive collection you have there though Phillycore.
  17. Shitty man how did you get all cut up, no jacket it was cold this morning?
  18. Indeed hot weather sucks! I spent 2 summers ago working in a power plant around boilers in the heat of the summer, not fun!
