  1. Tapatalk ain't fixed yet... I still see your posts. It's bullshit if you ask me. Might move a few over but not enough to make a dent on a busy weekend.
  2. ^genius, crowd the trails even more by dumping twice as many noobs on the hill that ride those lifts.
  3. Understatement of the century... Crispy deep fried bumps, toasted English muffin with course organic sugar granules (hold the butter please), finished off with some hot out of the oven super sized death cookies... Ski a la carte at its finest.
  4. I hear ya man, you'd still have a good time at Elk if we went, though;)
  5. Any reason in particular you didn't ask the clinician how it is supposed to make you a better skier? The fact you didn't is on you.
  6. Let's say you were open minded enough to venture into an expert level event PSIA... holy fuck what a mistake that would be because all of a sudden the whole shebang, all of it, everything you love about skiing will be tattooed and stamped and completely defined by PSIA. All of a sudden, you would no longer be able to enjoy POW and your face would be slapped back and forth by big swinging dicks at every turn. The truth is, like any experience, it is what you make of it. It would only serve you in enhancing the infinitely many ways the symphony of skiing is conducted, not just the short game, all of it. It makes POW no less enjoyable and you'll even meet some good people. Some dicks, too, but what the hell? How is that different than any situation in life? Open-minded skepticism is a good thing and I'm all for it, but I see a lot of closed-mindedness on this topic. You may not know it but we need organizations like PSIA. The future of the sport depends on new skiers and who deals with that? Glen Plake recognizes this and even was humble enough to take a level 1 PSIA exam. US ski team and USSA recognizes this and has been building a partnership with PSIA.
  7. The lesson here folks is to follow your balls down the hill while drinking beer and you just might become a slalom gate smashing high speed carving prodigy. Haha;)
  8. You weren't coached in college? I thought you raced? That's only because tapatalk on my phone doesn't block your posts from being viewed for some reason... Maybe a moderator can fix that;)
  9. If somebody likes the way ski, then I imagine they are happy not being as good as they could be. Good question. The thing I like most about skiing is that there is always room to grow. Most ski instructors at blue do ski like bums. Their training is practically non-existent. If they had good training I'd work there.
  10. I have a hard time thinking you can get what you are looking for outside of PSIA without doing some weeklong clinic conducted by some former pro who may really be a tremendous skier but may or may not be trained as teacher. Most who go to those are people who are paying big bucks just to ski with a famous skier. PSIA has events that non-members can attend. Plenty of bump clinics. Advanced Bumps: 2 day on snow. "This course will focus on developing and refining essential skills and tactics necessary to ski bumps on black terrain. It will help participants who already ski black terrain bumps to handle more difficult lines, more speed, and more challenging conditions." Advanced Movement Analysis: "This course will help you to coach movement patterns of modern racing, mogul and off-piste skiing. Learn how to determine cause-and-effect relationships in the tactical application of skills. Develop activities that promote the adjustment and adaptation of skills to task and terrain. Use movement-specific analysis to assess technique. Use situation-specific analysis to assess tactics." There's even specific slalom and GS events.
  11. Speed hides your flaws, I used to like it that way... Now I address my flaws. All it takes is a will to be better and the patience follows.
  12. Even the legendary Johnny Laws skiing and knowledge would improve if he went PSIA. Not even what we were talking about tho...
  13. The things that determine my experience at the mountain are conditions, terrain, and crowd, not what they say on their website... Sure the crowd part can be impacted slightly by marketing but I minimize that factor by skiing off-peak times. That's whatever. I'm not sure where you get the whole advanced intermediate thing. So like, what's Blue then? Gaperjong central? Like I said, far better skiers than you or me like elk. You are truly an opinionated a-hole, but I love you for it;)
  14. Who cares how they sell it? I don't. All I know is that I enjoy elk and many far better skiers than me do, too. Im not trying to say you should like it but saying only "advanced-intermediates" or whatever is crap. I know a local mountain that conducts weekly off-site PSIA Level 3+ training at Elk.
  15. That's just not true... I think your real beef with elk is the slow lifts, arcane lodge, silly shuttle parking, and dickhead staff, at least mine is. Other than that it's a blast. Love Susquenhanna, tunkannok, Chippewa, and Kickapoo. It is what it is. If you like seeded bumps go to blue. If like real bumps go to elk.
  16. Isn't there a carpet to the left of the quad as well?
  17. Let me know if you are serious about it because I know a few good females that are "not men of her age group" haha
  18. No shit?! I am not familiar with the bike trails, where do you dip in? Near the Nastar shack? Is it like a narrow luge type deal or can you bounce around between some trees in and out of the trail?
  19. Thanks for taking the lead on this and making it happen. Had a great time and hope to do it again next year. Fingers crossed.
  20. Dude, you ain't kidding. Some of the best snow I've skied in PA this year.
  21. Keeping PASR active by pissing certain people is an oxymoron. The difference between this small regional forum and the rest of the Internet is that it intersects with real life on a huge relative scale. Invitation accepted.
