  2. Maybe... I'm calling him on Head...Not Atomic, Rossi or Volkl...A close second would be Blizzard. Anyone else have guesses?
  3. Got back from Tahoe with 'Mum yesterday. We skied for 5 days. 3 at Heavenly, 1 at Squaw, and 1 at Dimond Peak. First 3.5 ski days there was stuff falling from the sky, mostly snow. Made for some good powder skiing (about 8-10 inches ontop of Heavenly 2 out of 3 days I was there and the day at Squaw) Brought the 165 SL race skis, which are not the best in powder (something like 64mm waist) but I had fun on them anyway. Midway threw the day at Squaw the sun came out, and stayed out for another day at Heavenly (last day). Heavenly is a huge mountain, that is in both NV and CA. We were staying by the base at Heavenly, and took the gondola up about 2,000 feet, then from there started skiing. You cannot ski down to the gondola, its just to get you up to the mountain. Its cool because the mountain is higher than lake level, giving it more snow and less rain. But there is no lodge at the Gondola, which means no place to stash your stuff (shoes and stuff). Luckily our hotel was literally less than a block away from the base of the lift. Mountain has a few bowls, lots of groomers, lots of trees, and pretty good lifts. Seemed like it got most of the recreational skiers from Reno. The first 2 days we skied there, and had pow skiing in the trees, and flat groomers. The last day we skied we had lots of sun and no new snow. It was pretty warm, but everyone is so spread out, the trails stayed pretty nice. They some pretty big jumps in their park... Dimond Peak is a smaller mountain (about 1,800 vert) and I think its the 4th biggest vert around Tahoe. Has a bunch of sweet long steep groomers that I would have sold my soul for a pair of GS skis on. Very under advertised. Not a huge area, but there was almost no people there. Some nice glades too. Recomeneded runs, Slalom Glade, (not actully a glade) Lightning. and Show Off. Worth a day if you go out there. They have 2 lifts in the base area, and insted of making them high speed quads they have you stand on a converor (sp?) belt to speed you up before you get on the lift. This allows them to run the lift faster, without having to worry about you getting slammed by a super fast moving chair. This might be a good option for Bear Creek to look into, because it allows the quad to move faster. Not too much of a park Squaw is just like one huge open mountain. Huge amounts of expert areas. The mountain is very open, with not too many named trails. Mostly they name areas, and have some random patches of trees seperating them. Many steep bowls, cliffs, trees. Fun mountain. When we went (day 4) it was really warm, making us want to stay on the upper mountain. The 10 inches of pow at the top was pretty wet, which was not a good combination on steep trails, with a pair of skis that just sank. But I survived, which is always good. They also have a very cool gondola type lift. Each cabin holds 28 people, and runs on 2 cables, but they cars keep coming, so its closer to a gondola than a small tram. Deffinatly worth a day, especailly if their is fresh snow, and its cold out. Not sure what their park looked like. Deffinatly a fun trip. Got some pictures, but too lazy to put them online now. Give me a few days...

  6. Stop hitting on Papa Beachie
  7. I got the sence he never raced at night... I think its going to be put on at 10 their time...So we have to wait a little. Maybe catch it tomorrow sometime.
  8. Hey guys...Just reposting this from a different board. (Nastar)...Might be worth checking out online. It is probably midnight by the time it comes up (10 Utah time)... The person who wrote it had done a good bit of writing for Ski Racing Mag, and other assorted ski things. Check it out
  9. Don't waste your time in shops...I don't need snowboarders to come up to me and try to sell me a pair of Volkl 4 star skis...And if you are going to try to, atleast take off the snowboard boots...
  10. Guess I missed this thread. Not really a fan of any of the stores around here. Nestors had some issues with when I got a pair of boots there, and when I go in there to look, there staff is also breathing down my neck. Buckmans seems like its lacking advanced stuff (atleast the one by me) Loft a bit pricey, more advanced gear, but still limited selection. Has that hot used ski rack tho.
  11. indeed I do... Cavemen and women should have long hair...
  12. No, I'm good with it short. By the time I grew mine out, it woudn't be 'cool' to have long hair...Because in the year it would take me to grow it, guys might realize that they look like idiots with long hair...
  13. Actully it has nothing to do with freestylers...Its the 'cool' thing to do...

    06-07 plans

They don't close it to respace chairs too often. If they take the chairs off because of an ice storm about once a season, thats probably enough. It would only have to be done about once a season I think, because its a pretty long cable.

  16. Yeah, really sucks. I keep telling myself in SL never to stop, even if I know I missed a gate, just keep going....But I always hike...but whatever...I'll live.

  18. I was up there all weekend, and I think this was about the last day they could stay open. If they wanted to keep 3 dimond trails open for another few days they probably could, but other than that, they are just about out of snow.
  19. Well it didn't go all that great for me. Saturday I got late or something, and ended up missing the top gate of a hairpin, causing me to go threw it backwards (after stopping to make it threw) and then it was just pretty slow from there on. It was pretty nasty when I got in the start (and for about 3 races infront and 3 races behind me) it was raining and foggy. Second run satruday was a little better, but didn't go well enough for a points race. Today there was a course that was just super fast 1st run. I was looking at it, and there was a 3 gate flush at the bottom (about 3 gates from the end), and the gates in the flush were pretty tight. In inspection I thought "wow, those gates are really tight, and you are going to be flying, be ready for it". In my run I hit a rut or something, and got launched past the first gate, then hiked back up to finish it. Second run I started 70th, and had a decent run, considering the course was beatttttt by that time. Probably no points for me. The USST guys thought it was a World Cup race or something, because aside from one gate where they scrubbed speed, they were really going at it. They also set 2 courses (guys/girls) each day. Satruday night they desided not to groom the trail, hoping that the snow would stay harder if they didn't. Which means by the end of the day on Sunday they had 8 different runs down the same trail.. Also as '999 said, a little girl came up to me and asked me for my autograph...She must have been really confused
  20. Wasn't that last weekend? Anyway, looks like they are going to try and stay open to Easter weekend Moved to Other Mountains
  21. Yupp Papasteeze still has a few left over. I think the hoodies run a little small, not sure about the T-Shirts. Just a heads up. (Moved to gear)
  22. Assuming these are 3 different runs, same gate? (Its better if you can get more than one gate in the picture, or a picture of the course, if you have one, that just looking at the one section of the turn). Anyway... Picture 1...Looks like hes about to blow out backwards. Bring the inside leg back, but nice angles with the inside leg. Not only will he blow out backwards, but hes also looking like hes about to fall to the inside. Picture 2...Looks pretty good, still tipping a little to the inside. (possibly a line adjustment, but I can't see the gate above/below) Picture 3...still tipping to the inside. As I keep looking at them and the stuff in the backround, I think they were 3 different gates? But its hard to tell... Just like he was working on at Mt. Hood when I was with him (and I'm sure he was told by the Camelback coaches many times) he has to level out his upper body more, and like Mum said, possibly bring the outside hip a little bit more foward. Over all looks pretty good
  23. Thats because there are better things to do before a race than go off jumps....
  24. Actully I believe the term would be us little pressy douchbag racers or something like that. But for the most part, racers don't spend all that much time in the park on race day. And uhh a jump is a jump. With that said, no complains if you would like to stay at BC rob...
