Every Place in PA is aiming to open the first week in Dec. I can tell you that in 2009 CB will be trying to open "late nov, early dec'...but the stupid weather has to cooperate.

No you don't (bite me DMC ) Haha I think they were shooting for the 19th of November. But just a forwarning, hunter is VERY crowded on their first weekend open (2,000-3,000 people, one trail). You would be smart to look for a different NY mountain (belleyare, windam) which will probably be open the same weekend.

if you want horribly inefficent snowmaking... You can chop ice at 90 degrees tho...

it has lows around 34/35....which will cool the ground off, but you can't snowmake until its around 30 (with relitively low humidity)

I know the long range forcasts aren't very accurate, but until almost the end of oct, there are no temps below freezing at all for either killington or belleyare... So the 5th might be pushing it...but we can hope!

Its one of the better trails at CB I think most people would agree on, and its deffinatly the best green around, there not gonna end up doing anything with that trail...which is good

Yeah, but they will probably still pack out a little bit with use. I would ski on them a few days before you try to get any work done.

Instructors love meadows to do long treverses...However maybe the would bump the bottom of a dimond.....but probably not...

The rumor (from davey j) is that he is leaving CB on novmeber 11th

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I know a lot of the mountains up north use one to start bump runs...Insted of just blowing a lot of snow, and getting bumps, the drive there groomer over them a certain way, making bigger bumps Not sure about this either, but maybe there spring time grooming won't suck as much if they groom uphill insted of down (not sure why, but we can hope)

Just make sure you wear all your skis stuff (no need to bring a bag)...its gotta be a lil chilly (and hard to breath) up at like 35,000feet
