I know a lot of people (not me) detune there skis at the tips and tails. I could never really figure out why, but they said it makes them too 'grabby' Mum has that problem some times I think. Anyway, do boarders detune there tip/tail if there freeriding. (sounds like park riders detune there whole board)

You should pick one or 2 people as coaches and listen to what they say...Insted of trying to read a bunch of different books, and listen to everyone that tells you stuff...Just focus on one or 2 things at a time. You could have 15 coaches look at a course, each coach would have the fastest way to go down, and none of them woudl be the same...

I have heard how good Brad is with boots, haven't heard much about him doing skis tho. But I also wonder if he did them himself. Hopefully Mark will be back this year

Last few years Bell and Hunter opened the same time, with the same number of runs....(as I recall)....Hunter had one, bell had one (i think only one)....but ehh nvm...Early season anywhere is better than no early season...

Ok, I'll see you on the highway, but not the mountain I guess. Everyone can go to hunter if they open the same weekend, thats cool with me (and ski999)

I wouldn't go to buckmans (just doesn't seem like there staff really ski/ride that much)...Rob likes BC's shop, I like CB's, but that is probably out of the way for you. Only get a base gride once a season, and make srue you wax after it

Chris, I have a pair of X-max 10s I got just for free skiing, and they do feel soft at high speeds. You might want to look at Volkl 6 stars, atomic SX 10s (or 11s). Salomon makes really soft skis, even there race skis are a big softer than other compainies.

Isn't it bad when a lot of snow falls early....Insilates the ground and then later in the season all the snow melts from under? Or does that not effect anything too much?

Rob will tell you its a good idea to get to know a shop, I will tell you its a very good idea to get to know some people in a repair shop...As soon as they like you, they will take more time on your stuff, and uhh your costs will go down mostly

I like the guys in the CB shop for stuff I can't do myself (mostly that stone grind once a year). And if I needed bindings mountained (and I had to drill into the ski to do it) I would bring them there. Mark Bowers was the best, but he had a kid, and took a nasty fall, requiring surgery on his wrist, which took him out for most of the season. Tom will be around as far as I know, and hes a nice guy too!

Well I was talking to someone in the CB marketing dept, so I am assuming she knows whats going on. Who knows, hopefully they bag the idea.
