  1. You mean you don't wait on pins and needles for Salty's insanely long trip reports I mean, I don't mind that his reports are insanely long, I like long trip reports. Hell, I write insanely long trip reports. But his have too much fuckery in them. Trip reports should be at least mostly factual. Funny is fine, but save the fuckery for the lounge.
  2. I don't want to speak for everyone, but I think you've kind of reached the point where most people don't really care about what you post and are only (if that) looking for a spot to troll the troller.
  3. 177s would have just floated right down that due to the increased surface area.
  4. Just that it's the first Thursday of the month, and they're doing it three straight months with 70s, 80s, and 90s pricing respectively
  5. Usually if my lunch break is longer than an hour I count it as two days. Or if I go back out with a different set of skis, or a different jacket.
  6. I'll be there with at least one guy I work with who is taking advantage of the deal and borrowing one of my older sets of skis. Think Pops will be up as well
  7. It's pretty terrible when for $12 more a skier could just stop by Buckmans on the way to hill and get a ticket that's good for twice as long
  8. Yeah, $33 isn't tho, cheaper to get a regular priced 8 hour ticket than 2 of these for the person who wants to ski all day. I guess if you were shoehorned into a short session in the AM it might be alright . . .
  9. Will have $19 four hour passes the first Thursday in Feb as well., and $33 first Thursday in March which isn't really a great deal
  10. Might pop my head in the garage attic tomorrow afternoon and see if there is still a portable charcoal rig up there. Pretty sure there's not. I suppose the Weber Kettle is actually pretty portable . . .
  11. Ironically, it can be too cold to grill. When it's too cold, propane doesn't convert to a gas, or at least at a high enough pressure. Sunday's forecast high of 17 might be pushing it, but we'll give it a go. I don't think that I have a portable charcoal grill anymore, or I would go that route. Blue doesn't seem to have any rules against charcoal.
  12. I expect to be there all three days. Probably a short session tomorrow morning then returning in early afternoon after Pops gets off work. Sunday first thing and Monday . . . we'll see. Sunday being NYE, is it worth bringing the grill out or will people be running out of there with stuff to do?
  13. Not likes, like. Pardon the language, but they'll stop fucking with you when you stop fucking with everyone.
  14. Salty, nice purchase. The 177 probably would have been better, but you won't even notice it over the useful life of those skis to you. And you're not skiing on total crap now, so when you're ready for your next set you can afford to take your time and hit free demo days and test all kinds of brands and widths and lengths and really dial in on what you like best. In the meantime, these skis are gonna kick ass for you and you're gonna have a hell of a season. Also, I feel like you only purchased them from where you did to avoid buying Root his sixer, which is totally against the bro-code so I think you still owe it to him. As it is written so shall it be done. Now shut up and ski.
  15. But on the other hand, what would the lift lines be like with the 170 vs the 177? Lift lines are the most important factor in lyfe. One could sound pessimistic and say that he could have gotten down the mountain faster and MAYBE be one person further ahead in line on the 177s due to the spread of the body weight vs mass over the larger square footprint of the 177 vs the 170. But I say Salty should just console himself with the fact that on the 170s EVERY SINGLE LIFT LINE he stands in for the duration of the time he owns those skis will be roughly 7cm/2 shorter, pending binding placement of course. That's gonna add up over the average of 130 runs per day that he does, and really make the 170 a no-brainer for what's most important.
  16. Aw, shit! Widowmaker, son! Hope there's still some titty deep pow when I get up there tonight!
  17. Yeah, it's awesome. I made some two inch thick filet on Christmas Eve that were like butter, same with these lamb chops tonight. Also, LOL at this site having any sort of thread integrity.
  18. NMSki is the best poster on here, quality-wise. His reputation is almost 200 more than his post count.
  19. It will cost more than that for your skis and clothes to fly Frontier.
  20. The Razors are on today's trail list.
  21. Got to Blue just a bit after 7 pm and parked in the Upper lot for convenience in case Pops wanted to visit his mug up at the Last Run Lounge before heading out. Booted up inside for the same reason and on the snow by 730ish. Had a nice run down Burma and skied though the Yeti bypass to see what they put in there. A small flush to the snow box and a second one sticking up just a bit with a tiny ride on ramp were in there. Snow was nice, a bit scraped off in the corners but not nearly as bad as one could expect during hour 12 of operation during a holiday week. Took it down to the valley and up the 6 for a run down Paradise. Another enjoyable run, spent most of it on the edges of the trail where there was plenty of loose snow to be had and minimal scraped areas. Sixer back up and over to Lazy. Had some gullets and humps formed at the top of the trail, I guess from people cutting in from both sides, but nothing that couldn't be handled easily and the trail cleaned up immediately and was in great shape, even on the hard right at the bottom. Over and down the Falls and I think that's when we took our one quad ride. They had a couple of cats pushing out Razors, so looks like that one's just a matter of days. Guns were blazing on NightWeaver and they were getting awesome production. Hopped off the quad and took a run down Sidewinder. Lots of fun and really looking forward to getting some more runs on it this year as a ski trail. Enjoyed the run but was definitely the most scraped run we found all night; Challenge and Chute looked like they were probably scraped more bare, but we didn't hit those. After a second trip over the Falls we stopped for the first waffle of the season before going back up the six to hit Main St. Found plenty of loose snow coating Main st and easy to read wear patterns that made it a cinch to stay off the smooth surfaces. Upper Main was great and Lower Main had minimal chop, but got a little spicy for me as my goggles iced up right in the area where the upcoming trail fills my field of vision, coupled with going through a dark spot skier's right that made the small chop tough to read (through icy gogs.) Took the double back up and noticed they had a single gun pointed into each of the glades. Looks like their really aggressively taking advantage of these cold temps this week. There was a ton of base being pushed out on Razors, and some nice whales sitting on Widowmaker, although with the micro-micro-climate and waist deep powder that trail always has, they probably don't need it and I wonder why it's not open yet. Come around over to Burma, and jumped on the double again. Talked about cutting out, but decided conditions on Main were so good we wanted to get another run. Patrol was doing a sideslipping drill on the right side, but plenty of room for a last fast, fun run back to the double. Well, Last if you don't count Easy Out and .5Vista back to the lodge. As hard as I had to work to skate through all the fresh man-made at the top of the double, I'm counting it, lol, for 8 runs and got back in the lodge just after 9. Decided against hitting the bar and just headed out. Run of the day was Main St followed by Burma. Likely back on the snow Thursday night.
  22. I'm pretty sure it goes right across Pocono Raceway. They may have trenched it so it's not so hard to cover. I remember looking at the trough while skiing off the Raceway Triple last year and thinking that it had to be for a modern alpine slide because it was too far from the existing water park to be a waterslide
