  1. Oh, right, I almost forgot. I know MattEdge was wondering about the ski conditions. The black diamonds were mostly sheets of ice, except for The ASP which had some decent coverage on the right side of the slope with seemingly soft death cookies. I quit doing Cliffhanger because it was mostly ice. Other than that, the usual skiing. I got to do Pharoah, Bactrian, and The Hump for the first time this season. Totally rad. I didn't meet any cool people this time because I was kind of in a cranky mood, mostly from the Stevenson Lift stopping for 3-5 minutes every single damn ride. Later on I realize I was just "hangry", and was in a better mood after eating pretzel twists. You can add this summary to the Report since I forgot.
  2. "Just got back home from a fun session at Camelback. I skied from 1:52:12 pm to 8:25:20 pm, or 6 hours, 19 minutes and 8 seconds. Made 40 runs, maximum speed was 49.7 mph, and maximum slope was 39 degrees."
  3. I thought you quit vaping?
  4. One day last year I walked around the hotel just to see what's in there. It's very large and you can get to the waterpark from the Stevenson Lift without even going outside, I think. I just like to explore the vast areas that Camelback has to offer.
  5. Wrote a trip report. Check it out !
  6. Just got back home from a fun session at Camelback. I skied from 1:52:12 pm to 8:25:20 pm, or 6 hours, 19 minutes and 8 seconds. Made 40 runs, maximum speed was 49.7 mph, and maximum slope was 39 degrees. I had a dentist appointment this morning so I missed out on First Trax. Once again had perfect teeth, just like my skiing. Afterwards, instead of East Gourmet Buffet, I went to another Chinese buffet in Hazleton and it just sucked. My dumpling was ice cold, and the food was very mediocre. It would have been worth the extra drive to Bartonsville to hit up East Gourmet Buffet. Actually, I should get a season pass for Montage because it's close to the Royal House Buffet, which is my favorite Chinese buffet because they serve tiny red squids, and they have a chocolate fountain with marshmallows and pretzel sticks that you can actually dip in the chocolate. Plus they have a wide variety of sushi, and the decor is very nice. Two thumbs up for Royal House Buffet... not so much for the buffet I went to today. After some runs at Camelback, I checked out the hotel restaurant and had three pretzel twists with cheddar cheese for $9.54, and I tipped the bartender $2.00. I also ordered a tap water with ice, my second tap water for the day. The restaurant was moderately crowded, but at least some tables were available, unlike at Bear Creek, which must have a better restaurant because there's was packed. I meant to go for a walk to check out the indoor waterpark, as is tradition each year I ski at Camelback, but I didn't feel like walking around too far in ski boots. After skiing, the walk back to the Nastar Glen Lodge (where I parked) was an unnecessary pain. Some blockhead put up two orange barriers at both sides over the bridge that I have to cross to get to my car. The first one I was able to bypass by walking through the woods to the right of it. Then I had to climb over the second barrier, which is about 3-4 feet high, and I got stuck halfway between it for a few seconds. It wouldn't have been so bad to get over, but carrying RTMs and ski poles while walking in ski boots made it more difficult. Overall the barriers ticked me off because I just wanted to get in my car and drive home so I could write this trip report.
  7. Pretty nice. Lots of tourists. Definitely on the same level as Bear Creek. Maybe in an hour I'll go check out the indoor water park.
  8. Sitting at the bar at the hotel, just like in The Shining. Waiting for some pretzel twists and cheese. I'm more excited for the pretzel twists tonight than I am to go back out and sit on idle chair lifts all night long.
  9. Having just an ok time. Not skiing as good as I was last week, both lifts stop every 30 seconds all night, and lots of ice on Cliffhanger. Oh well. At least no ones here. Another hour and i think I'll head out.
  10. On which trail? Usually they put moguls on Uncle Billy's Way or on Lower Cleopatra, but there are no bumps on either.
  11. Camelback is so rad. 100% open today and lots of good pow. Its dead and no lift lines hardly so everyone should come out and ski some diamonds with me.
  12. You need to come to a post ski session tailgate. Root and Steeze told me the story. It's a good one.
  13. You're a Jerry.
  14. Anyone going to Camelback tomorrow? I'll be there from about 1 to 9.
  15. Im really surprised they're closing on a weekend night when the snow is so good.
  16. I think he's calling Salty a Jerry.

Nope. I stopped at McDonald's on the way home since I didn't have a lot of time to ski last night, since they closed at 9. I stayed the whole time despite a short power outage. You guys should be so proud.
  18. I'll take it to the bike forum so Eaf and SallyCat don't get mad.
  19. Absolutely. You guys almost have talked me into getting a lesson now. I made it as far as checking Camelbacks website but they only offer lessons for beginners. Maybe I'll get a lesson at Stowe since they probably have world class ski instructors.
  20. Oh no. Im done trying to do a bike fit myself. I'm paying the money for a proper bike fitting this time. While I enjoy cycling and sking equally, I spend a lot more of the year cycling so I'd rather spend more money on that hobby. Plus getting the fastest time on Strava segments is pretty much the funnest thing ever.
  21. Not to get too off topic again, but I've been planning on buying a carbon frame bike for a few months now. The local bike shop talked me into getting a carbon frame bike since I've been riding aluminum all my life. Oh well, there goes another couple grand. I wasn't planning on buying skis this year actually, but you all and the ski shop talked me into it.
  22. I can't wait for March so I can start looking for a new road bike. I wonder if I take a 56 or 58 framesize...
  23. Say what you want, at least I don't plank on womens' skis.
  24. Whoops, my bad. I honestly did not intend to imply that the shop you bought them from wasn't reputable, although rereading my own post, that's how it came across. What I meant to say was I'm glad I bought mine from a shop instead of online while also trying to mount the bindings myself, and I'm glad the shop that I bought them from was a reputable one. I'm glad to hear the shop you bought your RTMs from is working with you and is willing to ship them back for free. This is one major reason I prefer brick and mortar shops instead of online for items that are bulky, expensive, and may cause life-altering injuries if set up improperly by an amateur like myself. I'll accept one ding for this.
  25. I assume this is because our forum avatars don't help.
