Agree. Switchback is best trail on the mountain. I’d rather they not blow snow on Challenge than not blow snow on Switchback and Sidewinder. If they had to choose.
Maybe they have pipe issues?
I’m not giving up on the season just yet, looks like some potential shots on goal second half of January and early March.
At least no monsoons and blowtorch so they can keep refreshing what’s there. -
Meh for 3 weeks, could be worse.-

Afternoon foray. Deep Creek park at Greenlane. I had thoughts of untracked runs but there were tons of parents and kids who left not 1” untouched ☹️
So I settled for a couple laps off the disc golf path , no much pitch but fun .
Met a fellow named Rodney who skis at Blue a lot. He was doing some XC with a bunch of family.

I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 7:25am and the temperature was in the low teens. In the house were Atomic Jeff, JFDan, Johnny Law, Mixilplix, Salty, TP4, Mute, BooBear, Enjorales, Pops, MBike Mike, Nastar Glenn, Schifdawg, Nancy, BenM, Charles and many others.
First order of business was getting my bad foot into ski boot…success. Second civilian chair on the super summit safari six pack. First run on Main Street which was pretty good. First slow squeaky snow of the season I’ve skied…Lazy had nice snow as well and got my first falls of the season. No lip on the falls and the runout was smooth.
Up the quad to Coming soon which was a bit ratty but good grip. Lower paradise already a clusterfuck like 820am. Then skied Paradise and decent snow but very busy. I did one run on lower Widowmaker to midway to lower main and lower Widowmaker was small cookies. The Chute is open but pure cookies.
Definitely some entertaining lift rides seeing beginners out of control on chute and Main Street and even a runaway ski. I skied lazy again and ended my session with a couple on Main Street..upper Main Street was pretty quiet. Guns are blasting on nightmare/dreamweaver and challenge.
Fun but chilly parking lot, first parking lot session I kept my gloves on this season. Also had a Tesla parked like 16” away from my car. While I skied liftlines were a few minutes max but I’m sure they got into the 10+ minute range. All the high speeds running helped, helped make the trails more crowded lol.
I’m probably skipping tomorrow and sleeping in had my fill of Blue…gotta get ready for JH on Tuesday. See everybody in February for the third quarter.

Today was a good day for that if you choose wisely. Under the Quad uphill from Razors and a couple other areas.
Kudos to Blue today for controlling the cattle. I stayed on the Quad most of the afternoon. They paired everyone up and the lift only stopped once in 3hrs I was there!
Great day 12-5 session with only a short break, I felt 20 years younger all day. Rotd ended up a perfectly timed accident. I was drooling over the fresh carpet on Razors when I saw 2 tracks down, Patrollers? Yeah . I spotted a crowd at the rope! Yes , skate and hit speed right as the rope dropped!
Later runs were ok . Most of the mountain is in pretty good shape. Lazy was quite crowded but ok if you kept your speed down due to washboards.
Jay has its “Jay Cloud “ Blue has “Nightmare cloud” crazy micro climate all day over the top of Nightmare . Great job Blue!
Ps Park is a total shit show at the entrance!

They just opened Razors I saw the crowd forming and skated up as they dropped the rope, there was an inch of freshies.

Pretty sure keeping the lights on is a safety reason. My Camelback Patrol friend found a skier on a closing trail sweep. The guy was 40’ into the woods out cold. He didn’t remember how long or what happened.
It took 2 hours to get him out.
I can imagine waking up in the dark disoriented with a head injury. Also there’s a chance some unauthorized people could be earning turns .

Yes $4 an hour. 96 spaces left seems to be a popular amount in the lower lot. I haven’t been in the top lot since December of 2021.
The roads were sketchy when I got there so it seemed to be safe bet . I had chains in my truck but they’re a pain . When I left at noonish the roads were worse.

I saw Blue is charging $4.00 hr for the premium lot, I parked up top today. I had a chuckle when I saw “100 spaces left “ sign. There were probably 7 cars.
Did they go from $30.00 day to hourly rate? Early in the season I saw a sign that said $30.00 day at the base lodge. -
Falls is open but I went further east. Under the quad was nice 😊

Any of you live in Bethlehem? Went skiing downtown and managed to do a 180 in front of hotel B, about 3 seconds before security told me to get lost 😂
Haha awesome! I don’t live in that area but I’ve spent a few months working on a building at Main and Market.
