  1. Second chair Quad . Razors first run…. First turn incitation was rejected so I pointed them straight down and some slow arc turns. My helmet whistles at ludicrous speed.
Coming soon was meh like @Johnny Lawsaid . Main st and Barneys had some dust on and was ok first time and nasty the second time. Nightmare was really nice for a while with a few pedestrians but a few cookies emerged but still nice. Only an hour and a half today. It’s going to be a stellar week to be out!

There no sense at all believing any forecast longer than 3 days out.

EPWA’s been doing a decent job so far. Pattern changes is coming although it’s a little late but there’ll be a bunch of chances for some more 6” plus storms.

Huh?  Nighttime temps in the 20’s this week with clear skies and low humidity.

Yeah, looked at my weather ap wrong. Next weekend 55° for 3 days

  4. This one’s better.
It was nice to see some sunshine playing with the clouds. The lifty pointed out the snow squall. He thought we were going to get dumped. I figured it would fade by the time it got to blue but didn’t want to pee in his cornflakes. I stayed on Challenge except for one run down “ Going fast “ Coming soon “ It was getting a bit translucent.
It was nice to ski some natural bumps.

I was sick last week and worked a lot this week and didn’t get out. Things are a bit bony in places. I think they might loose a couple trails this week.

  5. After a few more runs things are improving.
Some snow squalls up north, I’m thinking tomorrow morning will be pretty firm but nice by mid morning.

Got home from an evening sesh at Blue The True.  Sugar lumps sugar lumps everywhere.  Main Street top to bottom was reminiscent of Superstar in May at Killington.  Kids freaking everywhere but crowds werent so bad with all 3 lifts running.  Razors and Freefall were closed for ski team as was Nightmare and Dreamweaver for what looks like another race course build.  I'm not a big fan of night riding but it was still worth it.  Now a few days rest before Killy!

    Any bumps to speak of?

  8. Short 12-1:30 session , I swear I heard a foghorn. Up top still about 50’ visibility . I was feeling pretty crappy and fighting a cold but wanted to ski some bumps. 5 or 6 runs down main . Last run I could actually see. Busses were rolling In when I left.  Way overdressed I was soaked from the inside and low energy level but happy I went.

  9. First night session of the year for me 5:45 start .  Things were firming up from earlier Main st  not fun marbles near the bottom. Coming soon ditch was ok with some thin spots. Paradise wasn’t bad .
Razors was really nice on the sides up top but got a little thin and the runout was rather shiny. Fun night got better as the surface got skied over a bunch.

Dammmmn...I was there tonight... Rode from 5 to 6:30ish....All from the F chair...Place filled up fast...Snow was really nice.....I was on skis and had green pants on ..not the orange ones I usually wear....I wish the lift line wasn't such a cluster fuck of humanity....Some slight knee stiffness but nothing that stopped the fun....

Agree. Switchback is best trail on the mountain. I’d rather they not blow snow on Challenge than not blow snow on Switchback and Sidewinder. If they had to choose.

    Maybe they have pipe issues?
I’m not giving up on the season just yet, looks like some potential shots on goal second half of January and early March.
At least no monsoons and blowtorch so they can keep refreshing what’s there.

  12. Afternoon foray. Deep Creek park at Greenlane. I had thoughts of untracked runs but there were tons of parents and kids who left not 1” untouched ☹️

So I settled for a couple laps off the disc golf path , no much pitch but fun .
Met a fellow named Rodney who skis at Blue a lot. He was doing some XC with a bunch of family.

    Hey All,

I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain.  I arrived at the lower lot at 7:25am and the temperature was in the low teens. In the house were Atomic Jeff, JFDan, Johnny Law, Mixilplix, Salty, TP4, Mute, BooBear, Enjorales, Pops, MBike Mike, Nastar Glenn, Schifdawg, Nancy, BenM, Charles and many others.

First order of business was getting my bad foot into ski boot…success.  Second civilian chair on the super summit safari six pack.  First run on Main Street which was pretty good.  First slow squeaky snow of the season I’ve skied…Lazy had nice snow as well and got my first falls of the season.  No lip on the falls and the runout was smooth.

Up the quad to Coming soon which was a bit ratty but good grip.  Lower paradise already a clusterfuck like 820am. Then skied Paradise and decent snow but very busy.  I did one run on lower Widowmaker to midway to lower main and lower Widowmaker was small cookies.  The Chute is open but pure cookies.

Definitely some entertaining lift rides seeing beginners out of control on chute and Main Street and even a runaway ski.  I skied lazy again and ended my session with a couple on Main Street..upper Main Street was pretty quiet.  Guns are blasting on nightmare/dreamweaver and challenge.

Fun but chilly parking lot, first parking lot session I kept my gloves on this season. Also had a Tesla parked like 16” away from my car.  While I skied liftlines were a few minutes max but I’m sure they got into the 10+ minute range. All the high speeds running helped, helped make the trails more crowded lol.

I’m probably skipping tomorrow and sleeping in had my fill of Blue…gotta get ready for JH on Tuesday. See everybody in February for the third quarter.

    How’s your foot afterwards?
