  1. Thanks....I actually wanted confirmation on all this stuff I posted. I do remember hearing for like the past couple years how Mammoth always goes past July 4th, I've never actually been out there then but thats what I've been hearing. Idk what I'm gonna do. Like I really want to take a trip out west this season. I'm not going to woodward as a camper this year (I'm working there), so my grandmom said she'd give me $800ish or so towards a trip somewhere as my "camp" (she's been paying for woodward for like 5 years...w/e I'll take it). I'd really like to go during the winter but thats definatly out because of school, and the fact that there IS still snow here during them months, and I'm trying to get as much skiing in this year as possible. I'd go in the spring over spring break, but thats probably gonna be an issue because it must get insanely crowded...does it? The only other option is the summer, like around late june through early july when I get out of school. I'd probably have to hit up hood/timberline for the public park though. I'd really like to go to a camp, but its so expensive....for just the price of the camp I could have probably a month long trip skiing without a camp, and probably more time on the snow each day. Add airfare in and thats even more. Idk what to do. DHarrisburg any suggestions since you live out there?
  2. you can still do all that stuff if you are at high north. pretty much all of that stuff has nothing to do with COC, you have to do that on your own because you are pretty much set free in whistler. the only activity thats actually just coc only is the park. even the water ramps are shared between coc and high north. you're still staying at pretty much the same location (high north's hotel is about 5 minutes from coc's). and besides, I'd much rather have one more day on snow then some optional activites
  3. high north is still in whistler, has the same type of park that COC has if not better (with a towrope and everything), is much less crowded (less than 80 people a session), and still has the same hotel deal that COC has. its about 300 bucks cheaper and is an extra day (1700 for 9 days as opposed to 2000 for 8 days). plus its ski exclusive for whatever thats worth. less people hitting up the park everyday.
  4. I wanna go to COC so bad. My parents can't afford it and I sure as hell couldn't pay like 2 grand plus airfare for 8 days at COC. idk, I might go to whister or timberline at hood and ski the public park...COC is so damn expensive, and besides if I did go the ski camp route I'd probably go to high north, its cheaper, one day longer, still in whistler, and is skiier exclusive sooo yea.
  5. It's true that they wont be in tip top shape, but mammoths season almost always goes past july 4th....and besides I'd rather have mushy snow over no snow and 90 degree weather over here.
  6. Lucky! BTW Loveland's park is looking incredibly sickkkk
  7. siiiiiiiick jumps. making me drool. I think I'm hitting up mammoth like right when school ends in the beginning of the summer.
  8. Exactly, I'm just trying to fucking say something and everything out of his mouth is just an insult that makes no sense.
  9. Yea thats exactly what I do dickhead. THINK before you say things.
  10. You are right, but they both have access to other trails, paradise, razors edge, challenge/falls, or tut's lane to get to the other side of the mountain. No matter where you go there's gonna be people that dont belong in the park unless you have park passes....parks will be crowded on certain days....these things are inevitable. So you gotta look at the good things more than the universal bad things. I'll say it a bagillion times, bears lifts are slow as hell and their run is too short. The quad is faster but the line involved with the quad makes it just as slow as the A lift. They never open the A lift at the right times. When it does open, then by midday both lifts have lines that are crazy. At least if blue gets crowded they have one 4 person and one 6 person high speed line to handle the crowd.
  11. Yea tell me about it. Blue's gonna have two of their fastest and highest capacity lifts that access the park.
  12. gahhh! If I was of age I'd jump on that. I love building stuff.
  13. Exactly why I'm fed up with bear. Blue's also getting that new 6 person high speed lift to replace the challenge lift, which means 2 high speed detachable lifts that will service sidewinder. Lines will be signifigantly shorter with the new lift in place. By midday bear's lines are horrible. Like around 1-2 oclock. Especially when they decide to shut down the A lift so you have EVERYBODY getting on the quad, both people trying to get into the park, and people trying to get over to the other side of the mountain. With the improvements blue is making this year, and their insane park last year, the extra money and miles are well worth it.
  14. Just try and get the shortest strand carpet you can find. Pile snow on top of that so when it melts you at least still have something underneath it. If you're just going with carpet, which you can do, then depeding on the angle you have it at you might need to wet it down to get speed.
  15. 1. All parks are crowded no matter what if they don't have park passes. 2. They were windy, but this year they are widening them. Besides it doesn't really matter anyway. 3. Explain to me how bear will "Step it up more than blue ever will". The only thing that changed this year was planet snow jibs and tools. 4. The park run is wayy too short...the lift is way to slow and overcrowding. Also think of the placement issues. Its right in front and the quad services the park, so most days 80% of the people in the park don't belong because its the trail thats the easiest to access since its right in front. 5. Yes I do hit all jumps, dumbass. I wouldn't be complaining if I didn't hit jumps. The best booter they had at bear was the first one since nobody hit it, I'll give em that, but its still death because people like to park their asses on the landing. Even still it was like a 30 footer from the farthest kicker. The other smaller kickers are destroyed by the end of the day from jackasses riding over the lips. Also the landings were grooved out and shitty. Just about every fucking jump at bear is done for by midday. Also bigger and better jumps = more progression. If you were serious about skiing/riding you'd know that as a fact.
  16. I'll believe it when I see it. By the time it gets built, I'll probably be in college out west somewhere...
  17. this thread is like a year old. I had some hookups in the past and did this for a bit but I dont do it anymore, sorry.
  18. OH MY GOD! I completely forgot about the tubing jump lines. That was like the beginning of the season too. I know the weather sucked, but blue still managed to maintain killer jumps and jibs throughout the day even with the warm weather...the lifts are sooo much faster, the lines are so much shorter, and they'll be even shorter this year with the new 6 person high speed lift.
  19. not really, the jibs were pretty nice as they got new boxes and rails, but the jumps pretty much sucked.
  20. OH SHIT. Doug's gonna go illsicknasty twin tip style at booter. FAKIE STAIR RIDES WITH A FREESTYLIN' OUTRO! and a teeter totter rail seems pointless to me.....spend the money and put in some non circus rails.
  21. idk what I'm doing this year. last year I went with the student unlimited pass to bc with a friend....but I'm gonna have to say that I was dissapointed with BC's park last year. It's true that the warm weather didn't help, but blue really kept their park in tip top shape even with the warmness in january. i'm just getting sick of BC, with the slow ass lifts, short park runs, and lack of progression in the park. I'm not saying the park crew wasn't working their asses off, it's just blue's park was pretty much amazing this year. if I do get a pass I'm probably spending the extra $$ and driving the extra 20 or so minutes and getting a blue pass. idk what the money situation is this year though, I need to get a new ski setup, plus if I decide to drive this year, then insurance and gas will work into it...I might just have to get lift ticket money from the rents every week, idk yet
  22. I think a teeter totter rail is like a novelty...sounds pretty dumb, who the fuck is gonna reset it everytime after someone hits it? I'd like to see a nice, somewhat long, upslanted rail or box
  23. SICKKKK I can't wait for blue to open. I want to get a season pass this year, but I still need to pay for skis and insurance and gas money for a car... I hate life hahaha
  24. it was real nice, real poppy and snappy but flexed real good for jibbing. this board is pretty much mint other than the repair, it was used maybe 10 trips or so because I got it midseason. I'm only selling my stuff because I no longer snowboard and need money...
