It would just turn into an old peoples MB...No teenagers really want to post with a bunch of 40 year olds...so it would get more old dudes and less teens/20s
Skidude, I was hanging with a guy his late 50's on Sunday. Met him on the lift. He was funny, with a pissed off attitude about a Montage Ranger. We took a couple of runs down the north face and he was a really good skier. But what do you talk about with some guy that's almost 60? He complained about being stiff and his bum knee.
Well, then he headed over to NASTAR, stripped off his coat and ski pants and was wearing a race suit. Okay, Gramps, I'm thinking. Then he jumped out of the wand and smoked the course, beating the f*ing pacesetter, who is a Montage Ski Team coach.
This is his NASTAR Registration ID: WAD97
You know, a certain calm came over me watching that old timer. I suddenly realized that when my wife and dog are dead and my daughters have long since disowned me, I still might be able to ski a 13 handicap. That would sure bring me inner peace. Being old doesn't have to suck.
haha thats awesome, more power to ya guys! lol my dads turning 50 this week

Jeff is that you blue or CB?
thats more convient for Blue goes comming from 33, howerver, from 476, take 22 to macartuhor road to blue mt drive.
-
Thanx for passing that message along. I am sorry to hear the bad news. May he Rest in Peace.
yea, thanks for keepin us update. RIP

There are faster ways to go, but that is the simplest. Also, you can get on to Rt. 512N from Rt. 22, take it through Bath and make a left onto Rt. 946. That will take you right to Blue Mt. Drive. That is the way I would go. Especially if I wanted to avoid the traffic trough Whitehall.
Actually, if your comming from the south. Get off at airport road on 22. Take airport road north, and keep on going and going and going. Youll then hit 946 i BELIEVE, but whatever road you hit, take a left (itll be on an angle) and just keep on going and going and going, make a right in blue mt drive and itll take you to the mt. once you get off of 22 the trip is approx 20-25 minutes

CB is 100% money oreinted..Unlike some areas that only think about money 75% of the time.
Camelback is a corporation. plain and simple, investors WANT to make money off their investment, they could give a crap about the people that are making them money. Blue's owners arent a corporation, they're skiiers at heart, they know our feeling....hence them opening earlier, faster, and closing later......

With Route 33 closed CB will see a drop off of guests. Any thoughts from the folks in the area as to what will be the best approach from route 78? How much do you think Blue will pick up due to accessibility?
blue would love to have your service, check out my post in the other thread

Jibophonic I see your post on the other side:
http://www.ridecamelback.com/forums/viewto...p?p=17225#17225
but can you tell me if this will affect my travel to Blue? I have not been back yet this year and to be honest I don't recall the correct route. IF Blue is not affected by the detour it might be time to give them a try.
Dave_S where you comming frome? 78? well thats WELL south of the closures....Best way to get to Blue from 78 is probaly take 33 north to the rt 22 exit, take 22 to MacAruthor Road, keep on going and going and going, 10 miles maybe, until you hit blue mountain drive, take that for a few miles, through 2 stop lights, over the hill, and blues on your right!
i think thats all right

I did see a lot more security Friday night but I am not sure they could tell who was stealing and who was just picking up their own equipment. Maybe they serve as a deterrent. perhaps the security force should be armed?
I think all they look for (if even this much) is someone in ski boots taking a board or a boarder taking skis. Anyway when u give the security guns why not give the rangers rocket launchers?
i think they should make skiiers do spot checks, where if they see a guy with skis walking away, make them click in to see if the boot fits the bindings....things like that....

as atomic has stated. the CBMB is beyond a marketing tool. i have deemed it Propaganda. its rediculous.

Is camelback snowmaking shut down for the year? is this the snow we'll be skiing on till march? blue's been continously building stockpiles in every nook and cranny they have (ask thinksnow, they have some 20 foot + piles to the left of the quad) and theyve been blowin on trails, and make the bumps soft as ever, why isnt camelback makin that base deeper? (at this time last year, didnt they crack the 100inch barrier?) they're only down aorund 50 or so

nobody from MC has any right to flame, that place wasnt that great
-
Friday I skiied at elk. Wonderful as usual, though the one side had a little less soft stuff because of the wind blowing everything away (very windy on the west side of the mountain) but everything else was great. Didn't get a chance to demo some Atomic's however.
Saturday I skiied at Mountain Creek, but i mostly watched a college race there. that place is pretty big, considering they have no were near the whole mountains cut, soo many trees waiting to be cut down. Liftlines moved quickly, even though they looked long, though wasnt too impressive of skiing, but i skiied through one of the terrain parks pretty insane. I was also 45m-1 hour late because of the dam sinking bridge on 33!

yea we had the same issue last year while trying to film jibophonic. nobody ever wanted to be the camera man. so i usually got stuck doing the filming when i wanted to be riding. we briefly had this one chick comeing up with us and her fee for getting the ride was to film us. but she kinda disapeared, haha. not sure if shes still alive. i would think shes fine though.
atomic..... update on prices one footed back flips. kester told me , and price confirmed, that he never landed one. he said the one he did he landed but as soon as he landed he lost control smacked his head and got a concusion. haha. so thats his injury thus far this year. not too bad considering his record. so im wondering if he is gonna hurt himself again this season or if his curse is going away. either way its nuts that he had the balls to try one. later
yea i know he didnt land it, but he got all the way around, which was impressive enough....but maybe he did 2 because he rode down the terrain park, unstrapped and hiked back up, telling everyone i just tried a 1 footed back flip

Hey what is this...Talking about other resorts? YOUR BANNED
Just don't freeze your camara up.
well it was too freakin cold to bring the camera out anyway, i only skiied the one side of the mountain cause the wind was unbearable on the otherside, and all the good snow was being blown away. i may be skiing at mountain creek tomororw
