So I was at Blue today, and the first piece of weather to report is that is was quite cold. The snow was in good shape, and they appeared to be making craploads of it on all of their remaining trails, I'm sure CamelBack is in a similar position and I don't think 100% is too far off. Overall it should be a good weekend, but bundle up!
i was at cb tonight, not the fastest snow ever, but it was freeakin cold, daveyj said it was -2 when he came out to meet me, but the windchil was so bad you couldnt see anything cause of the snow blowing UP off rocket.
atomic, what was with the snow tonight? it was so slow! i guess when temps get that low the snow stays really dry (aka slow). but wow was that a struggle a lot of times being that i am on a board. i was wishing i had poles all night cause the kicking just got a lil rediculous. maybe once it warms up a few degrees it will speed up a lil. anyway, it was nice to see all the snow being made though, but it sure was bitter cold!
when you hung a right off the stevenson, you could barely get going, daveyj strapped in too soon and couldnt move at all
i guess they were blowin wetter snow to get as much out as possible. -
i gashed my shinn last year on a fun box at blue and it STILL hasn't healed all the way. big ol scar that I guess at this point isn't gonna disapear. it gashed me down to the meat if not the bone on the shinn and the brilliant doc at the hospital said no stitches. frikin moron. the thing even hurts now and then. so now I wear a shinn gaurd on my right leg when boarding. :-\

you people. Though jibo can back me up on this one, there is this kid at our school who comes up with some really interestiny injuries every year, and serious ones too. yes yes, price sure does seem to wreck himself on a yearly basis. i think he is up to breaking his collar bone twice, a few other broken bones, and i know last year he had about ten stitched in his eye/eyebrow region. couldn't see outta his swolen eye for about a month. but i told him he deserved it for trying to gap to boardslide a wooden handrail,lol. wood+metal edges=wicked digger. its all on tape too, i am trying to get my hands on it for the Jibophponic video.

i was at CB last night. and they are blowing like crazy. however the trails that they haven't unleashed their snow makeing on were wicked thin. but the trails they were working on had so much snow on them it wasn't even funny. so in about a week i would say almost all the trails will have a huge base on them. i can't wait.
holly shit was it cold last night though. lol. i like the cold weather, but it needs to warm up a lil bit so i don't gotta feel like my face is gonna fall off. haha
yea, twas very cold last night.....that wind at the end was really howling

Haha, but really, weren't u in the lead? isn't that why Ski999 said he was following a beginner?? We know how inconsiderate you are to the beginning skiers, running them over and such, why should we believe he was in the lead?
(Oh yeah, it's pick on Atomic day)at that point ski999 had passed me, and i started to make short quick turns but the ski patrol had already seen us

Lol... yah good times... then there was the time when Atomic decided he wanted to fly down the slow ski area and scare the beginners, and forced us to come along behind him, I really don't know what we're going to do with that guy. alright, quit makin up stories

I didn't have a chance to head out anywhere today, but I was wondering if the bitter cold kept the big crowds away, or did everyone still come out to take advantage off all the snow everyone's been making this past week? I'll be at CB early tomorrow.
I was out in NYC late last night and every place was just empty. No one wanted to brave the frigid temps. We could only walk about 3 blocks before it became unbearable...
when thinksnow and i were eating lunch there were HELLA people in the lodge, but the quad lines were still maybe around a minute wait? not bad at all. It was very cold, poor skidude in his GS suit..
im very mad at him though, he did not say 1 word to us, we were next to him in the lift line, he was stopped on challenge, i went right in front of him and STOPPED, and looked right at him, he just ignorned me!

thinksnow, ski999 and i skiied together for a while, including getting stopped on paradise (at blue) for skiing to fast
but we also got to watch some of skidude's race including skidude tear it up down Razors Edge....as soon as greg gets home im sure'll he post the pictures! -

I was at blue today and it was good, considering the weather of the past week.. They were making snow on the remainder of their trails that still hadn't opened, so they are very close to being 100%, as for CB, only time will tell but it shouldn't be too long now!

when i was skiing with daveyj tonight he said they were beginning on cliffy tonight, but they werent blow yet while i was there, and just to put it in perspective, i was on the lift as they started the first gun on the asp, two runs later all the grass was covered.

All I know is that this means kick ass snowmaking temperatures. 100% in two weeks? You never know...
yea it is pretty kickass, though i dont know why they havent restored all the origanal trails yet?

I was just at the shop and bought that leedom scream that atomic was talking about. Fits very nicely, I get to try it out in the morning! I'll definitely get to find out how warm it is

Simple... The next to days the conditions are going to be hard pack powder.
Other than Sat. I think it will be more granular because of all the traffic.
There will be a little ice Friday but only at the end of the day and since they been maken snow 24/7 i suspect condition will be good on all newly opened trails.
Remeber the 11th the terrain park will be closed!!! Do to some race thing!

Friday night low -4 (negitive four) Real feel -21. Wind gusts up to 20 MPH This is for TVille so colder on teh MT. Have fun if your skiing then. It won't get much warmer the next day or two but a little.

I heard from one of my cronies that CB is currently making snow at an amazing rate.
at these temps, those guns are running a ideal temps (at nights they are DEFAINTLY blowing airless), HUGE amounts of snow being produced

park crew is a must, and as much as we all hate the rangers, my neighbor said he stopped going to cb YEARS ago before the rangers because of how bad it was....
