  1. Fake news. If you heard that it wasn't related to me skiing. She encourages me to ski for the reasons mentioned above and, more so, because I annoy the shit out of her if I'm in the house a lot (like now). But like I said...it's a balance. Saturday and Sunday mornings at Blue are a lot when she has plans or the kids got stuff going on so I do Saturday morning and Sunday night. Multiple ski trips out west with lots of things happening at home can be tough so I do one trip...gotta balance that shit out. Edit...I think I remember that conversation now. She did say that if I got hurt again she'd kill me... Lol.
  2. That's good. I didn't mean him specifically but more so in general. I'm no marriage counselor but you hear "my wife" or "my husband" won't let me do something so frequently. I can't understand that. Granted a person shouldn't completely drop their spouse for a hobby. There's definitely a balance. But it shouldn't be completely taken away either. Taking away something that someone loves for selfish reasons will likely lead to unhappiness for that person and, I'd guess, an unhappy marriage. Again not specific to Ride who likely makes turns with his wife. But, instead, a Ridgeracer life lesson that I wanted to share.
  3. Gotta have time for your hobbies and the things you love too.
  4. No not mousse. It was a vaseline like substance. I'm not really sure what it was to be honest.
  5. No moustache. Went to catholic school. We weren't allowed to have facial hair, or hair below the collar. So my response to that was to grow it gravity defyingly high. "Product" was needed each morning.
  6. I did. Who didn't actually?
  7. I never said or even intended to insinuate that it was the people's fault.
  8. That's fine...not dissing anyone's culture although I certainly have my opinions about the consumption of animals that can be domesticated. My question, more so, surrounds the cleanliness at these places. These places aren't necessarily known for being a clean and safe environment. They're called wet markets apparently because of the "fluids" one would have to walk through upon shopping at one.
  9. I really hate getting involved in the divisive political thing and I think that blaming a politician for a worldwide pandemic seems silly...gives them way too much power. But criticism of their response and lack of preparedness is fair. And there's plenty of criticism at all levels from the President to the mayor of New York who actively encouraged citizens on March 2nd to "get out on the town despite coronavirus"...to quote his tweet. In Feb the NYC Heath Commissioner said that the "risk to New Yorkers from coronavirus is low and ... our preparedness as a city is very high," and encouraged everyone to go to the parade and restaurants being held the following week. IMO criticism to the response, all around, is fair and deserved.
  10. Learning a lot about wet markets because of this. What the actual fuck is up with that and how is it allowed?
  11. Wife and I each purchased reusable / washable masks on Etsy last night (not N95 of course). Figured we'd order there and maybe help people out of a job trying to earn a little $$. I got one with the Patriots logo on it. It's pretty sweet looking.
  12. Never skied Smuggs. What's that triple black diamond trail like??
  13. I haven't stopped listening to Nirvana.
  14. Same. I'm putting it towards next year's pass. Oh wait. I mean I'm moving to Oregon. I forgot.
  15. Wrong. I guess I picked the wrong day to break this news.
  16. Wow. Just for that you're not invited to my condo on the slopes of Mt. Hood. I can't wait to ski timberline in the summer. Who needs American Dream??
  17. That would be Halloween Imo.
  18. Thanks man. You're all invited BTW.
  19. Well no Blue Mountain pass for me next year. Got news that my job will need me to relocate to Portland. Looking like Mt. Hood will become my next home Mt. I'll freaking miss you guys!
  20. Yep. And hopefully by then what we're seeing today will be largely behind us...I hope.
  21. Welcome back RideDE.
  22. That's funny. That sticker on your jeep is the first thing I noticed when I pulled up to your house in Crested Butte. That's of course after the shuttle bus driver insisted on taking me to your neighbor's house first. Lol
  23. I saw gas at $1.97 yesterday.
  24. Came home from CO two weeks ago yesterday. Seems like an eternity ago when life was sorta normal. When discussing dates, we actually kicked around booking a week later than we actually did. Had we did that there, obviously, wouldn't have been a trip. The day we flew out is the day Vail shut down all of their resorts. The plane was half empty when JFDan and I re-booked our flights. It ended up filling up within a few hours span.
